Like .hack//liminality, Online Jack takes place offline [in the real world] during //G.U.'s timeline. The main character, Salvadore Aihara, is a news reporter. Online Jack will be integrated into the new video game's "Altimit Mine OS" desktop instead of being separate OVAs.

Doll Syndrome:
Salvadore Aihara has been researching a condition known as "Doll Syndrome." Exactly what this syndrome entails is unclear, at this point. However, it seems to be some sort of medical condition, affecting children as young as elementary students, and is somehow related to "The World."
