It might be related to or even be "doll syndrome", but even if it is that phenomenon has been given another name: "outdoor withdrawl" (autodoa hikikomori). They mention it in the news part of the new trailer and in first login. Basically, thanks to wifi and a new compact controller, people can play anywhere, so parks, etc., are filled with people completely withdrawn from society, something that couldn't happen before. They're surrounded by people, yet alone. I'm pretty sure it's different because it's been given a different term, but "doll syndrome" might just be a fancy name for it.Xu Yuan wrote:If you notice in the newest ONline Jack shots, there ar random people in parks and such that are wearing "The World" Neuro Goggles, I findthat extremely odd. Perhaps, it is as someone had said before, the body is taken over by a program... This should prove to be interesting.
Still, isn't "doll syndrome" really only affecting young children? Makes it sound like something completely separate from what we know about... I'm sure elementary students play The World, but a seemingly proportionate amount of adults do too.
