To an extent they have, even in 2 and Brotherhood repetition is still there especially in many of the side missions excluding  the six tombs to get Altair's armor and more or less the same thing for the Brutis Armor. Fortunately a good portion of the repetition is within side content as unlike in AC1 much of this stuff isn't made required to continue with the main story.

They've made definite improvements over the first game so if anything I would suggest S1lentOp check out 2 rather than Brotherhood mainly because they'd find it for a cheaper price, Brotherhood continues the plot directly after 2 both in present day and from past Italy should that be an issue, and mainly because Brotherhood is more or less almost exactly the same as AC2 in terms of gameplay limited to a single (but quite large) city (but in this case if one is liked the other will also likely be liked).

Take Gemcrim's suggestion, instead buy BOTH.
Contrary to what he said, Brotherhood and AC 2 aren't as alike as he describes.

Honestly, i'd say they pretty much are. Same characters for the most part, same setting, same kind of gameplay and mechanics, even same kind of missions, "dungeons" (or temples, secret places, how you prefer to call them), and the "flags" and "glyphs" show nearly no change at all. Sure, there ARE some changes and new things added, mostly the recruits, Full Synchronization stuff which adds a whole new level of difficulty, and there's much more things to do overall in Brotherhood, despite the reduced size compared to AC2, but, it's like the second part of Assassin's Creed 2, rather than a whole new "Assassin's Creed 3".

Still, i'd recommend to buy both games as well, if you have the chance to. If you love one of them, you'll also love the other, and, though Brotherhood is better than AC2 in my opinion, you wouldn't be able to enjoy it fully if you don't play AC2 first (and instead, you can overall enjoy AC2 and Brotherhood without playing AC1...which despite being awesome, it's BORING compared to its sequels). Assassin's Creed 1 might've been quite repetitive and disappointing at points...but trust me, neither Assassin's Creed 2 or Brotherhood are that way at all. NO MORE "go to that place learn stuff and then kill dude yay" at all, and the story is way deeper and complex as well...both in the historical events you get to play through, and in the actual events happening in the "Modern Era".

Finished this game and it does feel short. This is more like AC 2.5 or an expansion to AC2, but I still enjoyed it. I'm currently using Dagger of Brutus, which is ironical better than my Spadone. Is there a main weapon that is comparable to the Dagger of Brutus? Searching for those Borgia flags are going to be a pain. Now, I gotta tackle some multiplayer.

I just beat this and I thought the ending kind of blew some ass. I mean the part where you control Desmond on the outside was beautiful, but I was expecting more story in the end. AC always has a really interesting story, but just so little of it in each volume. I feel like it will take another 10 games just to finish a story that could be told in one game. Well, I mean the story inside the Animus is a decent length, but I want to see more of them in real life. I was hoping we would get to see that thanks to the bleeding effect, and we did, but still not as much as I wanted to. But I guess the amount of progress leading that way is really promising. Crossing my fingers for that in AC3. I like being an Assassin, I like going to the past, I like climbing castles, and I like fooling around in cities and messing with guards. But at this point I want to know more about the present than the past. I was expecting to meet up with more Assassin's at the end, or another confrontation with Templars. Not just 2 minutes of more cryptic words followed by an hour and a half of credits. "I'd like to thank the neighbor boy who brought me coffee that one day and the mailman and.."

Also like Shaun, and Rebecca too. Would like to see more of them over more of Claudia or Machiavelli.

You mean a Medium Sword? Yes, there is...and i won't be the one to spoil it, but just finish the Assassin Recruit challenges and achieve Rank 1, and then go to the hideout and look for it. You won't miss it.
zerokoolpsx wrote:Searching for those Borgia flags are going to be a pain.
Nah, not at all. If you go to the Art shops, you can buy maps for the locations of ALL treasures, flags and feathers, making the search MUCH MORE EASIER than it has ever been in the Assassin's Creed saga. You won't be able to buy maps for the location of the Secret Flags though (flags inside the Romulus Lair thingies...yes there are 3 on each one and yes they count for 100%)...but well, you'll only have to look for 18 flags on your own, not 108, and about half of them are on clear view and easy to reach anyways.
The only "pain" in this game is to achieve 100% Synchronization in all the missions...the rest is easier than it's ever been.

Agreed for the most part. I also REALLY wanted to see more action happening in 2012, more things being revealed about the "modern" events, see more interaction with Desmond and the rest of the surviving Assassins, and overall a more expanded gameplay and story regarding the present than just able to see gossiping mails, or a Free-Running moment with a "WHAT!?" scene at the end. Sure, there were alot of things revealed, and a few e-mails were definetly far more important than a missing Yogurt...but, not enough to satisfy me >3> I really enjoy the Animus, of course, exploring the past and learning so many things about it, the gameplay is sure as heck sweet and enjoyable too, with SO MANY things to do to not complain about boredom...but, i just think it would be great to see more about the present and take on a bigger part on it, rather than just be the guy who will save the world by staying plugged to a machine and "playing the past".
That's somewhat of a reason why i'm so obsessed with the glyphs/Subject 16 puzzles, because they reveal a HECKLOAD of information, and HEAVILY RELEVANT to both the origin of the events, and to the modern events, what really happened to them and why the 2012 is the way it is right now, what the Assassins and Templars have done after Italy, what they have in mind right now...all of it (and yes, you get to learn ALL of that through those little silly and uber-complicated puzzles). The story in Brotherhood was sure amazing....but i don't think i'll be exaggerating if i say that the story revealed through Subject 16 is much more important, relevant and shocking than the whole deal with the Borgia.
I hope to see more of 2012 in Assassin's Creed 3 too, maybe not to the point where it's a full-armed battle against the Templars (the Assassins would die =3=), but more exploration, perhaps having to locate certain items or certain locations, more enemy action as well even if it's still against the silly guards with the electric rods, and more character development as well...something we could kinda see in Brotherhood but it wasn't that much explored and i felt they could've given a bit more importance to it (it was all optional after all...kinda like if Rebecca and Shaun and everyone else "didn't really matter" :/). Due to many clues given so far though (especially in Project Legacy and The Fall...they almost YELL it to your face), i have a great guess of what's going to happen in Assassin's Creed 3...and no, it won't be full-2012 action, it's still going to involve the Animus, but it's going to be much more advanced in time, and guns are going to be a bit much more important than swords and knives. But don't worry, we'll still have our favorite building-climbing, sneaking through people in front of guards, and leaping off a tower to then land into something soft through an impossible manouver with no absolute damage whatsoever :P lol

Thanks Sorrow. I got Altair's Sword and the Borgia cape. Has anyone gotten the perfectionist trophy? What's the easiest way to do it? It requires 3 gold medals in any training mission. I was trying flawless and got to 22 kills before getting hit. 3 away from a gold. That mission is hard. Was attempting some hidden blade mission until I got frustrated and started rushing. -_-.

Yes. I have all trophies except for most online ones...of which i think i'll need the help of any of you willing to play with me and do stuff...i'm not too good online and those trophies don't ask for easy things either D;
Anyways, for the Perfectionist trophy i recommend you the "battle" training modes, especially the last 3 that are only about getting the most amount of points (by kills and kill streaks) in the given time regardless how many times you get hit or not. They're the easiest of them, i remember being way above the Gold mark since the first time i finished them, and you don't have to worry about being too perfect to avoid attacks; sometimes it's best to counter after getting hit once, especially with Heavy weapons.
The way i did was to make a simple killstreak on the first wave of enemies, and same with the second wave, just countering once and killing everyone else with a Sword/Pistol streak combination. By the third wave, i'd run around a bit until they got close, and throw a Smoke Bomb, trying to kill the lance/spear guards first, and then deal with the rest of the guards with more streaks, switching to Dagger whenever i ran out of bullets (wasn't as perfect all the time...but i'd still manage a 5-killstreak at least with minor damage). And i'd do the same thing for the fourth and fifth waves....throw smoke bomb, kill the Heavy weapons guards first, and kill everything else with kill streaks. No need to worry about the 6th wave...even in the one with the longest given time you'll barely have time to kill the 5th wave, and if you DO reach it, then it means you've killed enough enemies and with fast enough streaks to achieve Gold already XD

Thanks again Sorrow. Once I got the hang of doing kill streaks and countering while in the middle of one. It got easy. All right, all I need are the multiplayer trophies now and I'm up for some co-op. I was doing so well on medium kill streak, I was approaching 40 kills and got 595 points lol. I didn't use any smoke bombs and stuck to my sword continued my momentum once the streak kept going, but I really hate those spear guards. :( I'm like screw this, I'm killing all of you! Finally got the Raiden Skin. It looks so out of place.

Yeah, that's why i would always try to kill those spear guards first and with the Smoke Bombs...sure, i would lose a bit of time and streak, but it was for the better good, and with them out of the way i'd be all free to do a 15-kill streak or whatever without any interruption XD And i think it's overall better to switch to the Dagger once you're out of bullets, since you can kill even THREE guards with one single movement, while if you remain with the sword, sure you'll keep the momentum and all and it'll be great, but you'll be able to kill one by one.
And yay i'll be sure to add you on my PSN account then!! :D Several trophies are hard, but they can be easily "boosted" and i don't mind such boosting because it can be VERY annoying to try to get them otherwise. ESPECIALLY the Co-Op Bonuses one...can be done within a few minutes with 4 coordinated people, but it'll take years to find a proper random team that will do all 6 things with you in one single game ._. Anyways, let me know if you want some help with the trophies...since i sure as heck want it XD lol

To be honest, i haven't gotten it myself. I just did the Battle Training stuff for the trophy, and then i haven't bothered to open the Training Modes again. I focused too much on the gameplay, the 100% Full Synchronization, the trophies, and now whenever i play it's only online XD
Maybe i'll get it next time i play ~3~ lol Heck, if i got the 100% Full Synchronization in ALL of the missions, even the Copernico ones, i'm pretty sure i can simply finish all Training modes...perhaps even in Gold in all of them. Or perhaps not. lol

lol Nope, there are far more outfits than that XD
There's the Armor of Altair (as an outfit, not the armor itself), Altair himself and young Ezio (with the noble attire and ponytail and stuff), which you get by exchanging Uplay points.
There's the "Desmond suit", which you get after completing Sequence 8 with 100% Synchronization. Pretty sweet and the one i've been using all along just for lulz.
And, the "Raiden Suit", which you get by completing all of the Training challenge thingies with at least Bronze Medal. Easy as that ~3~
And if you want to include them, there's the Medici and Venetian Capes, which you unlock either by combining the Auditore Trail mnemonic set in Project Legacy, or by reaching lv30 in Multiplayer. And the serve the "purpose" of an outfit more than of a cape.

Of course, in fact, i think everyone who has played the game and reached a certain memory sequence has noticed, since it's IMPOSSIBLE to miss XD It's obviously some sort of Easter Egg, as there are many throughout the game (and not just in reference to MGS), and it doesn't affect the storyline or the game itself at all, just leaves you all "lolwut". If you try to find some sort of in-game "explanation" to it (of WTF is a Cardboard Box doing during an Animus memory about Rome), then you could say it's a small glitch, and Rebecca actually likes the MGS series, so she was doing some random messing with the Animus and it just happened. Explains the Raiden outfit too.
And yeah, if Lucy has time to play Project Legacy, Shaun has time to steal yogurts, and Desmond has time to jump over rooftops and talk to Altair's statue, then of course Rebecca has time to go lulzy with the Animus >3>

On other news involving my Brotherhood playthrough, i've finished ALL of the Virtual Training Challenges!!! 8DD And ALL OF THEM with GOLD MEDAL 8DDDDD...Ow my eyes.
...
Something that apparently and based on friends' record times, i wasn't the first to achieve >_>; Srsly zerokoolpsx, you had TROUBLE getting the Perfectionist trophy!? D8 I COULDN'T EVEN SURPASS MANY OF YOUR RECORDS!!! D8

And BTW, i have learned such a way to get all of the Multiplayer trophies easily (except the lv50 one, and even so it could aid on it)...however, i need at least 3 people (not counting me, 4 total) willing to be online at once and spend a few hours playing some Private Matches with me (several hours for the "Abstergo Employee of the Month" trophy, plus you need level 35 or so to unlock the Poison). Of course, everyone involved will obtain the trophies, not just me. So, if anyone (or rather...EVERYONE in this topic XD) is interesting in doing such trophy boosting with me, i'll be more than thankful.

Of course! If you have MGS 4, there is a Altair suit for Snake. I was saying SNAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! If I was Ezio right there, I would kick the box lol. I remembered a few years ago, Producer Jade Raymond and Creative Director Patrice Desilets collaborated with Hideo Kojima in an interview. In Metal Gear Peace Walker trailer, you see Big Boss doing a leap of faith in a haystack. In that same video, you see Hideo Kojima. After the nod to AC with the leap. It shows Patrice Desilets. Also if you check the credits for AC:Brotherhood, Konami and Hideo Kojima are credited. The Raiden Suit is no mere coincidence. I like collaborations like these.

I first tried the free run tutorial but that really discouraged me. Kept resetting, then I tried the combat, but did less than 100 points. So I gave it. Not until you gave the advice on combat, did I try and just breeze through. Combat was easy, flag was easy, assassination was easy, free run was easy, even flawless was manageable.
Only 4 people? I thought the least required was 6. 3v3 Manhunt or 2v2v2 Alliance for Role Model and Abstergo Employee of the Month. Definitely interest in getting the platinum. I know a lot requires targeting and your partner killing the pursuer or stunning him, etc.
The two most annoying thing about multiplayer are poisons and when you kill your target, your pursurer is standing right there to kill you. Nothing you can do. I'm more annoyed at the poison because it can offer upwards to 1000 points a kill. I can see the templar trying to poison me too. I'm gonna blow my cover and run. Can't poison me now huh?
Worst way to start off a match? Spawn right next to your pursurer and get killed. Yep, it happened to me. Spawn right next to her. I was so surprised a circle icon popped up on her head that I didn't stun her for a few seconds, just staring in bewilderment. It's supposed to randomize your spawning points, not conveniently put them together.

I completely agree with you in all of that. I HATE the poison, there isn't anything i can do anymore once i hear the little dart thing, and THAT'S if i hear it...one or two times i was close to my target and then "out of nowhere" the screen went green and i died >_>; And, though i really hate the sight of a player standing right behind me while i'm doing my epic kill, i also take advantage of it, getting behind my target doing his kill, and usually getting Silent, Discreete and Focus bonuses. lol
And yeah...though not at the beginning of the match, i've also spawned with the pursuer right next to me...and hell, the bright blue background thingy wasn't even done fading when he killed me >_>; But i as well have also had the "luck" of being chilling around, get my target "announced" and see my compass being filled automaticly, see a player appearing besides me...and then just press Square. I HATE such luck...but there isn't much i can do other than complain or enjoy it, depending the situation. I'm usually careful to not walk close to certain characters, as innocent as they look, and sometimes it's best to run around and force a chase, in which you'll have a great advantage already.

Nope, 4 is the minimum required. For Wanted-related trophies, you only need a Target and a Pursuer, and for Team-related trophies, teams of 2 players are perfectly enough. For example, this is the way to achieve the Role Model trophy in Manhunt, 2 vs 2.
Get all the Co-op bonuses in 1 session wrote: * Make a 4-player manhunt private match.
* Players A and B are the pursuers and players C and D are the targets.

Round 1
* After the round has started, all players meet at one point.
* Player A locks by pressing L1 on C and player B kills C with Square. This should get you Co-op Kill.
* Player B walks away from player A. Player A chases player D in high profile so that an escape sequence begins. Then Player B kills D. This should get you Diversion.
* Player A kills C and player B kills D at the same time. This should get you Multi-kill.

Round 2
* After the round has started, all players meet at one point.
* Player A locks by pressing L1 on C and player B stuns C with Circle. This should get you Co-op Stun.
* Player B walks away from player A. Player D chases player A in high profile so that an escape sequence begins. Then Player B stuns D. This should get you Rescue.
* Player A stuns C and player B stuns D at the same time. This should get you Knockout.
And for the Abstergo Employee of the Month, you can check this guide. Yes, it's freaking long and there's ALOT to do, but with some players to work it out with, it's not that hard, the most difficult of them being the bonuses for Extreme Variety but, even that one is easy to get under 10 min with coordinated people, and as you can see, it also needs 4 people minimum, or even 3 if they're good enough. If all of us work together, that Platinum will be ours in no time!! ;P

For those interested, you know my PSN (since i have everyone in this topic added....zerokoolpsx, Kaori and Keyaki XD), if you don't have me then it's "Sorrow-Kun", and i usually play at night, but i'm avaliable at any time...you'd just have to tell me beforehand with a date and a time set so that i get online and don't get distracted doing other things >3>

The killing doesn't even get better if you have the pistol. You can try and aim, but when you're about to pull the trigger, you can get glassed. Either that or your target gets taken down by someone else.

Even though it seems awesome at first, yeah, the "Hidden Gun" isn't exactly too good or helpful >_>; It takes ALOT to aim properly, a valuable time which the target can use to escape/hide from sight or your pursuer can use to kill you easily...and most of the time i tried to use it myself i ended up missing or ended up killed.

BTW Keyaki, interested in doing some trophy boosting with us and help us all achieve Platinum easily? Pleaseweneedyou 8D
