Kazumi, GU+, non-canon, I don't know why we're talking about him, thought the NINTH person you were referring to with Data Drain was Azure Kite... so I am under the assumption you only read G.U.+ and never actually played the games by this alone, I don't really know, but really why do we need to acknowledge Kazumi when really we were mainly referring to the games?Advent_Winter wrote:Both you and Gemcrim forgot about the ninth person, which was Kazumi. So if you can explain his purpose of having data drain, then I'll be satisfied. Otherwise, it still doesn't suit me.AuraTwilight wrote:Because they were all given satisfying explanations. The random player was someone Aura had a crush on and she was organizing a huge set-up, the AI Look alike is, HEY, AN AI, and the nine others are fused with the Epitaphs and stuff like that.
Anyway, as for his data drain, if you bothered to watch "End of the World" you'd be aware that Jyotaro Amagi successfully created a Dummy Avatar, in a sense another phase, and one would naturally assume that the Dummy Avatar, like the eight others would contain the power of data drain (though it is beyond me how Amagi would have succeeded in this, but then he likely had time to analyze the 8 phases).
Kazumi has the Dummy Avatar, and by extension, data drain. THE END.
Gemcrim wrote:Now just as there are those sick of us complaining about Link, I am sick of those saying "wait to play the game." I'm sorry but I am going to keep stating my opinions and run LINK into the ground for the simple fact I stated earlier. When G.U. was coming out there was actual excitement, theories abound on what was going to occur, a true sense of anticipation. And look at Link, there is a clear division in those that like it and those that don't and in that sense, for me it is a failure, it failed what G.U had managed to do.
I'm sorry, but I am sticking to my opinion as you will continue to defend each and every single flaw of LINK with, "JUST WAIT AND SEE! IT WILL BE AMAZING!!!!!!!1111!" I am going to continue to rip LINK apart, because the plot IS following at the very least the basic premise of the manga's, won't exactly completely follow I know, just as G.U.+ and Trilogy didn't EXACTLY follow G.U. But the fact is, still following the basic plot, and I don't like the manga.Advent_Winter wrote:I'm sorry, but calling a game horrible due to it's looks and presentation ONLY, is very ignorant, regaurdless of your opinion. None of us have finished the manga, none of us knows what's going to happen in this game, aside from a few events that are displayed at the beginning of the manga (i.e. Tokio entering the game, Kite vs. Fluegel, etc.), and the appearence of Xth Forms. This sense of "anticipation" is still very much here for this installment. It may not look all that epic as G.U. was, but it's still riddled with secrecy.
Unlike GU, LINK **** up the story in the first five minutes, as we have all brought up, ALL CHARACTERS ARE BACK. Tsukasa shouldn't be touching this game ever again after what occurred in SIGN, Albireo the same, many characters who shouldn't be back are here by shitty explanation of Chrono Cores, Akashic Records, and all your little BS plot devices fitting of fanfiction written by a thirteen year old twat who fancies themselves to be a magnificent scribe. :V
Defend this if you like, I know you and everyone who so vehemently defends LINK will because you're clearly satisfied to get your jollies off of anything so long as ".hack" is in the title and here you get all that wonderful fanservice of characters returning with poor explanation, nurse catgirls, butt pirates, and pantie shots abound. Ignorant I may be, but I rather be an ignorant cynical douche than an easily pleased moron.
Edit: One thing I would like to mention, I will buy and play this game because I HAVE mentioned in previous posts it LOOKS fun. I just have what I feel to be legitimate concerns on the plot and would honestly rather have the gameplay of IMOQ if I can get amazing story telling back. If LINK can deliver where I want it to, then fine I will gladly take back what I had said, but in doing what it has with returning characters and the Xth form, there is a lot I cannot forgive the story for before it even came out and it frustrates me because I love .hack. If I didn't I wouldn't be here, and I honestly can't see how things can improve at this point, if it does I will be glad but I truly don't think it will, .hack ended for me with GU Returner and unless LINK and the other projects can prove themselves, this is what I hold to.
