My most memorable doppelganger battle was vol.3 with kite (but i named him kick my ass in .hack//infection so his name was kick my ass) and azure balmung. it was SO fun. it lasted about 10 mins then i finished him off W/O awakenings. REPLY IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW

I fought him solo inside a PK Battle Area so i fought him against a PKer too, and i killed him in less than 5 min and that's because i played around else it would be 3 or less. And i have a video to prove that though if you've played and know the game enough this isn't anything new or surprising.
I've fought Doppel over the ocean too.
And beated him with dual guns without getting damaged.
And all i'm saying was done without Awakenings or Sleipnir or any cheat device (don't have one).

I've fought against Doppel at least 60 times so far and in at least 20 different ways XD

I used to fight Doppel in Vol. 1 in EVERY monster battle in a random area (escaping while killing all but Doppel except against the boss), and without using Awakening or Sleipnir. It was with a team, though.
In Vol. 2 i defeated him solo without Awakening or Sleipnir either and i too have a video of it, and i started to fight him solo since. I also did some challenges such like not using items or healing.
And i already said how i beated him in Vol. 3

Anything else? XD

yeah the first time i fought a doppleganger i didnt know my attacks werent gonna do anything sooo i went solo since i was 150 and thought i could take him....i lasted about an hour then died (damn dual gun infinite combo lol)

I did fought and defeated Doppel solo with Dual Guns without any Shock or anything to stop Doppel (items or counters). DG-0 and low health too but most of the battle was in using Skill Trigger because his juggling is LETHAL XP

I didn't even know that Dopplegangers EXISTED until I went to an area that Gaspard gave me for training. I saw the doppleganger, thought 'What the h e double hockysticks is tha-' And then I died. I was traumatized. T_T

I tried fighting one in the 3rd game, but his damage change is a pain. I'm just procrastinating right now, though.

Beat him twice in Reminisce. Never want to do that again. It took too d*mn long!

You used a Gameshark, didn't you? It's either that, or you gave those things to the Raven gruntie(I forgot both names! Wahh!) and used those books and scrolls. But that would take WAY too long.

Seriously, give up already on trying to show off how 'awesome' you can defeat Doppelganger and your accomplishments and all. It's not surprising in any way, only shows how much attention you wanna get and all and how you're willing to cheat and spend over 300 hours in being the 'best'.
I don't even have any cheat device but even with starter equipment i can beat Doppelganger. I'd just need alot of time and items and patience and i have everything but that last one. And an enough reason to do it all :P

Damn straight. Trying to show off about killing a Doppleganger is stupid. I killed it, that's all that matters.
I've never used a cheat device, either. I'm trying my hardest to kill it in the 3rd game, but it's guns are PWNing me, even if I am lvl 100. I'm trying to get my attack and defense higher and useing different strategies, though. It's healing is a pain, since it always recovers the exact damage I dealt it. DX It's a good thing I'm persistant.

If you don't know how Doppel really attacks and how to keep attacking him best, don't even dare to fight him with Dual Guns. Use a Broadsword with either the item Ginseng or Gurah Fist, an accessory with the Skill Candle, and keep attacking him and using skills so much that you actually deal more damage than he can heal; NEVER stop attacking unless it's very necessary to live.
Anyways, here's a FAQ if you still have a problem or question about it :P

I didn't cheat. I only used Dusk and Dawn Chim Scrolls thingy for increasing my SP and HP. That makes shadow and other self with me immortal.

Use a Broadsword with either the item Ginseng or Gurah Fist, an accessory with the Skill Candle, and keep attacking him and using skills so much that you actually deal more damage than he can heal; NEVER stop attacking unless it's very necessary to live.

What's a Gurah Fist? I've never heard of that before. And I have also made a mental note to NOT attack it with Dual Guns because it spams Judgement.

What's a Gurah Fist? I've never heard of that before.

A three slot attachment that gives the weapon effect Critical Attack, which can be summed up as Critical +100%. Gurah Fist is the most powerful physical attack attachment Haseo can use on a weapon in terms of pure power. While All Damage +25% is obviously stronger when it gets a Critical hit, the base Critical hit rate, according to a 1000 shot dual gun test I ran, is around 2.5%. That's nowhere near enough to outdamage Critical Attack with any consistency. However, All Damage +25% does upgrade magic as well, and because no attachment can raise the Critical hit rate of spells, it's obviously better than Critical Attack in that regard. It's also better than Elemental Attack for magic since Elemental hits come a bit more often (dunno what the rate is), and Elemental hits upgrade damage by the same amount anyway (25%).

EDIT: I don't know how this got edited out... Gurah Fist can only be won once by completing the final Mecha Grunty quest.
