Post your Doppleganger story...

So here's mine...

I went to fight him in a "3rd word: Moonlight" area. I saw his red arrow we all know, pointing toward a battle area... Turns out he was walking around IN it. I thought that maybe just Doppleganger would be in the there. Wrooong. I enter to find a PKer... The catch is that Doppleganger was ALSO there. So as I'm killing the PKer, Doppleganger was attacking my party members. After I killed the PKer I had an extra person (the one who was attacked by the PKer who I saved) to help me take on Doppleganger. Even with all that chaos I still ended up winning. It was kind of a "wtf" moment though..

Oh, and Other Self and Shadow are rediculous.

In vol 1 I waits 10 min than I find him . He wraps I go kill a monster and go on . I find a battle arena walk to it and the next thing I know he is by it . The arrow was gone before I saw him . That was my first tine seeing one after I found out about them . He seees me . I beat him he's a bit hard . They can move I ran far away from that arena . The battle arena thing happen to me to poor player got owned . Also I see him and have him chase me a monster close so a surprise attack than the dopperganger just walk in lol . So a dopperganger come on non storys areas we come about 5-15 min on a field if you fight no monsters are if you kill them all . Battle reset his 5-15mins timer .

Well I waited in a area for a bit and went to go find him. Sure enough he appeared with the red arrow and music. I quickly engaged him battle and we ferociously fought each other. In the end though I came out the victor.

i got all the parts for the bike in volume 2 and that part that makes it like a permanent smokescreen really comes in handy cuz you can just go up behind him and ram him with the bike xD ah so much fun ^^

in the 3rd on i was grinding didn't see moonlight as last word so i say him and attacked he was owning me so i was like smoke screen went into a monster area i was like better then i see bam he like smash thru the portla and was i like run so i did and he was gone 4 good i was ty u good

ok hey guys, mine will be a little long one, so sit back and try to enjoy reading it hehe..

as i killed Vol.1 and Vol.2 doppleganger, i thought of doing the same thing to the Vol.3 doppleganger, i read the forums a little on him before the release in my country so i'll be mentally prepared heeh, but at the time it released over here i forgot what i read lol... so i went on ahead at level around 102 and other party members around level 101 they were endurance and atoli ... i went into an area and cleared everything there, luckily i found the lucky animal that helps you with your fights..Sleipnir.. the one that reduces the health by 50%, so while i was waiting the 5 mins so doppleganger will show up i made sure the party members had full hp and sp i had atoli on healing and endurance on rage, i carried the doppleganger weapon from Vol.2 Heine's Shadow, after the 5 mins was gone, i roamed he map and there goes doppleganged poping infront of me, i engaged into the fight and the lucky animal poped to help me out.. when he did his move he did like 0 damage on him.. at that time iam like OMG! what is going on!!! either way i still continued to fight, and while iam hiting him along with endurance we were like doing 0 damage .... i said OMG!! there must be a bug!!!!! this cant be... he cant die!!!! so i used smoke screen and went to try again, i engaged and the lucky animal poped again and still did like 0 damage... i got all depressed!!! i foguht him a lil more longer then i was fed up my party got killed and i was the only one alive!! i used once again the smoke screen and escaped with my life but swore revenge on him!!!

i went on using the internet to get what i can of information on doppleganger fight tactic, i read a little bit from random places and then came to a conclusion that in order to kill him faster and easier you have to get  the new weapons the guns that you get with your new form, the Xth form, so what i did i continued the story line (( this is out of the story but let me add this,  since i saw endurance ditch me for arenai was so pissed off and thanked god i didn't gave him the best equipment or it would have been for waste i picked khun instead.. note: that khun will replace endurance from now on)) i reached the part where i got my Xth form and went on leveling my 2 best party members atoli and khun every one of them got the max upgraded lost weapon upgrades and gave atoli some healing cost reduction stuff put on her accessory and more SP on her armor, but khun had only the weapon that was really pimped, i still had the same Heine's Shadow weapon from doppleganger Vol.2 and had rainbow scale armor with biker's charm ring, after i relized that  doppleganger had an armor that absorbs the normal hit and convert them to SP, i was prepared mentaly hee, then i came across Zer0's guide for doppleganger and he mentioned aloooot of things to get to be prepared to fight like brings lots of health potions and etc i got depressed again but i thought let me give it a shot since i reached that far to get to this point, i might as well do something, i went to an area that ends with moonlight and saw my enemy that once ripped y party apart!! i engaged the fight with atoli on healing and khun on rage! the fight somehow got much easier there was so little time for doppleganger to attack since me and khun spamming skill on him on every chance and he also get rengki on him i did that for a while the HP and SP of all party member were perfect, and suddenly sincei did alot of rengki on him and atoli kept healing the morale bar filled up, i said to myself that is my chance..!! i changed weapons to the guns i started out with when i got the new form and started the "beast awakening" and did my very best on doing as much damage as i can , before the morale finished, i saw doppleganger drops to the ground before me!!! i was so happy! found it to be such an intresting fight and i didn't use any healing items while there so it worked out all good !! after that i attempted doppleganger of a total 3 times and whice i killed him as soon as the morale had filled up!! got my new weapon, armor and ring ((ofcourse after i finished the game)) and i became even stronger than ever!!!

See, by the time I learned you get that cool armor stuff for beating douple gangers in Volumes 1 and 2 I was already far into Vol.3 and way past it and don't keep up on info, so this made me a very sad person, let along, the first dopleganger I EVER saw was in Vol.3 cause I'm a slow head, the first two times I tried to beat him I freaked out cause I was do'n no damage, so I would run away, i come here and see it's eating away at his SP instead >_< So I was think'n, silly me! Oh my! So I ignore it forever then go fin him after I've beaten the game, Woo hoo for me. Have Shino and Zelkova with me, my second fav team set other than Atoli and Endrance, and I beat him down even though he was ridiculously annoying!So many avatar awakenings were used!

So Every thing went on happily even though I was a bit sad, beat my first dopleganger and got DG-O(Right weapon name?) Anywho, woo hoo, had fun >_<

Well..I took an underleveled Alkaid and Kuhn with me. I activated Beast Awakening, and shot him to death. As for the second encounter, I brought Bordeaux and Azure Kite. Beast Awakening, Guns. Win.

Yeah, i was stupid enough not to see it, but while i was fightening Doppel, i noticed something, I WASNT DOING ANY DAMG. so i thought i needed something and i turned off my ps2, and read some helps and guides (Especially Zer0's guide, thanks Zer0) and turns out, all that damg was being converted to sp damg. so yeah basically i wasted about 30min, trying to find out why Doppel was undefeatable.

I think my most memorable Doppleganger story was in Vol 2. I had kicked the crap out of the Doppleganger in Vol 1, and being the cocky little b*stard I am, I thought I'd take on the Doppleganger first thing when I started Vol 2 so I could get the weapons. At first I was doing ok. Atoli and Kuhn managed to stay alive and we kept avoiding his attacks long enough to work up a rengeki or two, and then all hell broke lose. Since I was using a broadsword at the time and had yet to get my 2nd job extension, he went midevil on Atoli first, leaving me no time to revive her. Kuhn was next after that, and then I was thrashed about like a rag doll. Worst yet, I was quite a ways into the storyline and I forgot to save. Then I tried again after I beat the game and beefed up all my players. Kuhn had Demon Slice (Ovan's weapon. THANK YOU CODEBREAKER!), Atoli had her lost weapon, and I had mine along with an Ill fenlong and a Wrath Heaven. Strangely enough, this time when I tried taking him down, I got an even more thourough a$$whooping than before, even if I was at level 100...Althoyugh Kuhn and Atoli were still in the high 80's, so that would explain it. Eventually I managed to beat him, only to use the actual weapons for about 5 areas before switching to stronger weapons in vol 3. In my opinion, it was a major waste of time. =/

Nothing is a challenge in that game for me anymore. I got the infinate Virus cores cheat for my codebreaker and maxed out everything. xD But I got Gabi's weapon, so that's what counts. But ya. Press select now and they die...Kinda kills it for me.

I only just beat Doppy for the first time in Redemption tonight (I already have all his other cool swag from vols 1 and 2).

So, I did what the FAQ said (autoguard is God), killed all the monsters, (Zelkova is God too) and waited for ten minutes. Then I went looking for Doppy. BUT I had forgotten to kill a monster so I had to wait ANOTHER 10 minutes. THEN I found Doppy. I crashed into him, and promptly wasted his sorry ass using a Beast Awakening, and didn't even have to whittle down his SP first. LOOPHOLES FOR THE WIN!

So now I have DG-0 and I am a very happy player. ^_^

As soon as i got Vol 3.. i went to fight Doppel immediately assuming he'd be easy to defeat again so i fought him.. had no smoke so i had to fight eventually i broke through and figured it out quickly.. was very disappointed i didn't get nothing special for killing him until 'after' Xth Form.. ohwell.

people over exaggerate how hard doppel is.. i barely tried.. but doppel is a very good challenge.. can't solo him though.. Skill triggers too often.. hmm.. hard to stay ahead of him since he doesn't fall down..

ohwell he was easy.. through and through.

at vol1 i lvl 50 TRY to kill him wit silibus n gaspard...n i was so nervous i totolly forgot about HP...

so i ended up did nt get the olm key or olm king...

at vol 2... i no bother cuz looking at the cover at vol 3... xth form... its tooooooooo SHOCK...

at vol 3 keep play play play play play play play play n naw doppleganger is nt more than a low lvl mob....to me... at least...
