First: Which do you prefer?

To Clarify: Shounen-Ai is basically kissy/huggy cuddle kyootness while yaoi is, at the base of it all, sex...

I prefer shounen-ai.. sex bothers me ;o

but i don't really like any of it (i do, actually but..) anything related to that makes me really sad t.t

O.o I don't see why it would upset you, unless the only yaoi/shonen-ai you watch is tragic romance...

As for me, I like both...so long as there's a good romance behind it.

I agree with Umbra. Both romance and sex work well, and I think they work well together. It all depends on how the creator uses each to tell his/her story.

I'm actually more of a yuri/shoujo-ai fan myself, although I'll watch yaoi/shounen-ai from time to time.

Yaoi is an acronym from '‘No climax, no point, no meaning’' (Yama nashi, Ochi nashi, Imi nashi). Sometimes used for all male/male romantic and sexual content.

Shōnen-ai is a term that has been applied to anime or manga that deals with love between young men. The term was originally and continues to be applied to adult male attraction to and desire for pubescent or prepubescent boys(what Shouta is today).

I prefer yaoi. ;D

Yeah...sex scares me...

I love BL though! But... I like forbidden love stories in general XD
I'm more a fan of shoujou-ai then shounen-ai too. There's soo little non-perverted shoujou-ai too ;_;

Eh... I'm not a big fan of yaoi <_< Shounen-Ai on the other hand is okay, although I'd prefer neither of those unless it's actually part of the anime/manga's storyline. If not... then x_x no fan ones for me!

^XD! It took me a second to get that. :O

Anyway, I like m/f hentai the most, personally. But I like slash sometimes too...

I like the kissy/fluffy yaoi if both of the characters are cute. (E.g., I told Makku I'm gonna write her Tenrow x Enju fluff yaoi for her birthday. XD)

Hardcore yaoi and yuri can be good too though. Just depends on the mood I guess. XD

...I don't care much for sex anyway though. X3

I don't swing that way, but if I had to read one of them it would be Shounen-Ai, for obvious reasons.
