It think the Wii is going to win because it is try some innovative stuff. The controller is designed to give the player the feeling that they are actually playing the game. Nintendo is doing a good job with their ideas as well as allowing owners of the Wii to be able to play the old games from their old systems.
no ****, it's just that people normally aren't reffering to the realm of PCs when they talk about the consoles. And seeing how this is the "console wars 2006" topic and the PC isn't exactly new for 2006, we can safely assume that it's the XBOX360, PS3, and Wii that are the main debate.Ignus wrote:the pc has been a gaming console for decades lol. Most of the greatest games ever made were for the pc.KattaK wrote:errm, just pointing out that the PC isn't a console..
However, among the three consoles, Wii for sure.
id have to disagree. ps3 is being consistently delayed, the shipment numbers are dwindling and sony is alienating its core market left and right by taking out features and going back on promises. plus, the price tag is simply absurd.. i cant see the ps3 doing well or even allowing sony to break even on it for at least several years.Maromi wrote:Are we talking sales-wise, as in the number of consoles sold? If so, speaking globally, PS3.
well i think the games will cost 70$ D:!! well if .hack will be on PS3 it will rock so hard.bolt wrote:id have to disagree. ps3 is being consistently delayed, the shipment numbers are dwindling and sony is alienating its core market left and right by taking out features and going back on promises. plus, the price tag is simply absurd.. i cant see the ps3 doing well or even allowing sony to break even on it for at least several years.Maromi wrote:Are we talking sales-wise, as in the number of consoles sold? the game prices are really steep too -__- such is the cost of blu-ray. well, you have to keep in mind that sony is losing the exclusivity that made it so strong in the last generation, too- xbox 360 now has mistwalker deveoping exclusively for it, and microsoft bought up lionhead studios.. oh, and grand theft auto IV is going to be an xbox 360 exclusive, at least for a while. i honestly cant see ps3 doing well at all any time soon.bredan wrote:well i think the games will cost 70$ D:!! well if .hack will be on PS3 it will rock so hard.

I would think that the PS3 would win because people in Japan hate Microsoft and the systems aren't selling very well. everyone knows that japan is a really important part of the gaming industry so they'll lose a lot over there. i think that ninteno'll be a close second only because the graphics won't be as inpressive. the innovation of the Wii-mote should keep it in the race though. the ps3 has all kinds of third party connections and the graphics will be awesome. these are all my opinions though!
bolt, realistically, I don't see the Wii out-selling the PS3, globally. Regardless of the price-tag, parents will still be shelling out the ridiculous amount of money around Christmas time, and, like the PSP, it won't have any problem being on top in Japan.
I don't prefer the PS3 or anything; I just don't think the Wii will outsell it, considering the Japanese market. The 360's world-wide success will always be hindered by its performance in Japan. Hopefully, Mistwalker can change that a bit.

Isn't the DS still at the top of the global market for handheld consoles... ¬_¬
I don't care much about how popular the console will be, I don't even see why other people would care. As far as I'm concerned the Wii has impressed me vastly while I wouldn't take a second glance at the PS3 or Xbox 360 simply because the Wii is the only console of the three that has games I would want to play.
Maybe if the PS3 gets Soul Calibur IV or another .hack sequel then I will buy it, but until then I'm sticking with a Wii.
