//quarantine and Elk **Possible Spoiler**

Could someone please explain this to me, b/c I'm ...scared.

In .hack//quarantine, when Mia turns into the 6th phase, Elk runs off and we hear that "Elk has gone to where the wave is...WITH THE VACCINE!" We then hear that the wave has "eaten" the vaccine and formed an antibody.

...Did the wave eat Elk?

**Could anyone explain how to "cover" text with a highlight? I spent a half-hour trying to figure it out...

No... Elk is still ok. He just abandoned his post allowing the wave to escape through the barrier Helba had made.

Really? I was given the impression that he tried to throw himself at the wave in a rage over Mia's demise. If he just left his post, how did the wave get the vaccine that he was holding?

It didn't... it just created an antibody.

They're re-adding it. The server doesn't naturally have spoiler tags, so they have to remake it all over again. You can still make spoiler tags yourself, though.

I liked Mia over Elk, but he isn't bad for a wavemaster Helba's better, though
Elk kinda got annoying in a few parts of the game...

Elk is available for pretty much all of Mutation. But that's about it. IIRC you can actually bring him to the Phase fights in it. (I had him when I fought Innis).

aren't you forced to fight magus with wiseman... he does join in mutation right...

Only after you beat Magus does he join you, actually, he's on your list but you can't use him till you beat the game.

IIRC, you can use Elk in all Phase battles up to Magus. Also, IIRC, Wiseman is the only wavemaster available for the Fidchell battle up until Corbenick.
