If Elk Returns..... (Charecter Info Help Page)

If Elk Returns as Endurance what would be the reason for it. In the speculation thread it says that prehaps "Elk is looking for Mia and the name change is only for making us guess" well I was reading around and I still haven't been able to get were this started I agree Elk is endurance but does anyone know how the theriore started. Also I would like to start this to help people put facts together on other charecters so ask me questions and I'll get as much info as possible by next day. sorry I can't type the info right know but if this stays up I'll update towmorrow.

While we're on the topic of old PCs who have started new characters, was anyone going to suggest Kuhn = Crim?

Think about it:

-long and crazy blue hair
-is a sucker for the ladies
-easygoing, but an aggressive peacekeeper
-amenable to helping newbies
-making a name for himself by abandoning guilds and World factions

-"he seems to have played games like this for a fairly long time"

Oh, and guess who Miki Shin'ichiro happened to voice in the anime. Hmm...

Ovan might even be Wiseman ;D after all, wiseman was only 10 in the games. Alot of the infinity 8 characters remind me of someone else. Maybe thats CC2's basis for repeating the whole twilight incident.

Well, I think, considering the limited evidence covered in the theories thread, that there's a good case for Endrance-Elk.

Not sure who would claim to of thought of it first, though...what else is someone supposed to think when they look at Endrance? ^^ There's too many coincidences with the title, the hair and eye color, the cat, etc...

As much as I really hate to say it because I like all of the original characters besides Piros, I dont think that there is any real need for original characters to return in GU, I mean sure Elk said he was always going to stay with Mia but if she got deleted then theres really no point for him to stay anymore right?

Crim in the games was getting more and more overloaded with work and didnt play as much so its not absurd to think that he decided it was time to stop playing after losing his character.

Balmung may or may not be in the game due to that event but if his character was deleted in the fire then what would happen to him?

Kites character data was heavily protected but he and Blackrose have no true reason to keep playing since they did what they set out to do and Shugo likely doesnt have a clue about what happened in "The World" so why would he or Rena return or contact the others?

All in all most of the original characters had there own parts to play in the events that took place inside of "The World" and Crim said if they could hand off to someone that was enough, these people have to be wanting a break from things there, and its likely that they all have regular meetings with one another outside of the game.

Seven of the Infinity Eight have VAs who have done previous work for .hack, Ovan is the only new one.

However, I will say that there are a large number of similarities between Kuhn and Krim, as well as Endrance and Elk.

But I have yet to see any definitive proof of a connection between the characters themselves, we'll just have to wait and see.

Yep we will have to wait to see. Though it wouldn't be surprising if some of the characters from the past .hack games and anime did make new characters. Heck I wouldn't be surprised if the creator of .hack made them so similar just to get us thinking, hoping, and squirming to find out. Heh.

For me, I replayed the game and heard Elk say "I'm always going to be with Mia!" Taken at face value this may not seem like much, but considering how much Elk cares for Mia, I don't think it would be too far fetched. Endrance is the most likely candidate.

.Hack is an online game and the people who play them, me for one would continue to play the new game even if you can't bring over your charecter and elk does have alot of reason to return and because of his return it would mean he's looking for mia anfd she might return as a side quest but that would be all the returns

i would be the advocate for no association with previous casts of characters, for there's really no point in having any of them here...we've have enough of them through many of the side-series associated with the original .hack// - this new cast looks promising, & would do much better if they remain just that - new..

otherwise, old ideas may end up beaten to death..

While these characters do look similar, they do differ in terms of personality. For example, I wouldn't say that Nuke and Krim, or Moonstone and Sora had very similar personalities.

I guess that this is .hack's way of showing us that similar characters will choose similar designs because of their personality. For example, I could never see a person like Blackrose choosing to look like Elk, or Tsukasa deciding he wanted to look like Mimiru.

Of course, that isn't always the case, there are definitely a number of characters with misleading appearences. For example, Sora and Wiseman appear to be a grown men in character while they are actually children in the real world.

I have no feelings either way, it would be interesting to see how characters have evolved between the different series' while I wouldn't start saying that old characters will inevitably be playing a part in GU. Again, this is one of these areas of GU where we simply have not got enough information.

I agree with you accept I want to see Elk as Endurance just as a story twist but thats all

I like Elk and I wouldn't mind it seeing him again but I like Endrance as a new character. You want endrance to be elk as I want Ovan to be Kite but just like mine its not going to happen.

Well, this is the game proceding future dot hack games so what if Endrance is really one of Elk's offspring and maybe just divied up the appearance. Kind of like when Mirelle used her mother's avatar.
