I haven't even had time to play the demo, and I have no real desire to. I think Final Fantasy has met the end of it's run.

well, FFX-2 was a total failure in my oppinion. Only good thing was the job system. The story was very dull, and the only good FF thing to come in the last 3 years was FFXI.

I highly dought they are done. . . They only made X-2 for the people who couldnt' play FFXI I don't think they really cared if X-2 was going to sell or not.

No dude, don't get me wrong, I love the FF franchise. I just think that 8 and X-2 were very big mistakes. With 2 bombs, well, 3 counting spirits within, and all of these FF7 spinoffs, I think they're about to run out of Ideas. I mean, who would think that FF7 would spring a FPS?

one, calm down dude, you opened it, so if they dont like it they can say so.
two, 8 and x-2 were horrible
three, if its done its done (even though i doubt it.) they had a good run.
so how was the new fighting system?

Hah, the Final Fantasy name will most likely continue to exist as long as video games exist. The numbered series may not last forever, but there'll be spin-offs and the like for quite a long time. Final Fantasy = huge profit.

I find it amusing how far off topic this thread has gotten, anyway I have played the demo and I like the style that they are using....and best of all THE ESPERS ARE BACK!!!

It's gotten off-topic mostly because every time people here notice a Final Fantasy thread, regardless of the topic, they feel the need to ignorantly blab on about which is the best, worst, etc. This is why they get closed so fast. Regarding FFXII: it was nice to get a chance to get a feel for the battle system, which I find to be very well done, at the moment, but I was hoping for a story mode, such as the E3 demo. It definitely grabbed my interest again, as it was fading after the delays, teasers, releases of several other amazing RPG's, and the like.

just asking, but why do some feel the need to blab about which one is better, or turn it into a "we love FF v. we hate FF"

anyway, what do you think about what they're saying about the "gambit" feature (although I gotta admit that gambit is an odd name for an autopilot)

Oh my gosh! I played the demo mode and it was soooo great! It was like orgasmic! I can't make up my mind on which is better. Maybe if both modes didn't use different characters...

...you revived two 9 months old topics for the same subject...And they're BOTH in the wrong section to boot.
That's funny. ^^

There is nothing funny about necromancy. It is a perversion of the natural cycle, a sorcery that mocks the will of God.
