The monsters that cannot be defeated

There were two of them that appeared late in the series, and seemed to have a very strange effect on the data around them.....but I've never really understood why they were there in the first place, and what purpose they serve.

Any ideas?

they were there to show that the world was being infected and going into darkness

Yes, they were Databugs, and were there to kinda 'trigger' the games plot about the virus

Sora was fighting one too, really loved the part where he got the info out of 3 cute adventures:D

Sora didn't really care although I'm sure he knew Silver would die, but where was the Subaru, Bear, Mimiru, Balmung one?

Like when Subaru took to long and was attacked they had the help, and afterwards they actually faught to kill it instead of running...I think. >.<

The Data Bugs seen in SIGN are prototypes. She's practicing because she realizes that Aura's awakening is becoming a BIG possibility.

It obviously had infinite HP. A Data Bug can't be defeated without Data Drain. period. Balmung probably fought to the death. Of course, since it's a game, it's not like he stayed dead.

But think of it this way; If he could manage to kill an "invincible" monster, he'd be famous. Or he'd get max beetz n' dropz

I thought the monster that couldn't be defeated were interesting. However it stunk that they couldn't be defeated unless they had Kite.
