At the end of the anime, when shugo and rena need the defeat the A.I, did their character get delete or did they go into a coma?

Actually, neither. They fixed the World and everyone survived. Cartoon Network had to cut off a part of the ending to make it fit in the 30 minute timeslot, but after the credits, you show everyone logging into the fixed World, and Shugo and all his friends are going on a happy little picnic.

The thing is, Aura put a program in Rena's data that, when combined with the Bracelet, can fix and reboot the World.
