what was the best medium for .hack?

I'd say game, not that I didn't like the book, anime’s, and manga’s but to me you’re more involved when playing the game's so it was more enjoyable

It was hard for me too, they are all great. But, i loved the anime of .hack//SIGN so much, and that convinced me. DVD.

I would say Video games. They are more fun and provide a better experince then any thing else.

This is very tough. The .hack//sign anime (DVD) started the whole .hack thing, it was the first. I loved it and that's what got me into .hack. I also agree with what Yuki said about the video games. They let you get a better handle about what it's like playing in The World.

I have to say DVD. .hack//sign was the beginning.

I'd have to say DVD. The games had a great story but after a while it was so-so. Still love them though. But I'd have to say Sign is my favorite and what really got me into .hack. So DVDs, cause of Sign. The mangas are also good though and sadly I haven't picked up a copy of the novel yet.

My vote is for the DVDs. I would explain my reasoning behind this, but the others who have chosen the same have pretty much summed it up.

I'd definitely go with Video Games.

Not only are they fun to play, they also provide more detail and action than can be attained by the other mediums. Also, it involves the player much more when they are the main character instead of just watching the main character.

On the other hand, detailed character models are better with the manga and anime. This is nice because characters are very nice to look at.

Still, Id have to go with the video game medium
