Can You Give Me Some Pointers On How To Beat Innis?

Post by Sumomo »

Hello Everyone. I have to beat Innis, but I'm afraid of him! (lol) I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on how to beat him.

So far, I know a few things...
He's magic tolerant
When he comes up to me, I should back away because he'll "crush" me
After I dd him, he has 3000 HP

Who should be in my party when I fight him? What equipment should I use?

Thanks for reading this.

You don´t have to be afraid of Innis...for a phase he´s fairly easy.

This "bash on the ground and cause an shockwave" have nearly all phases (at least 1 to 5, that´s the ones I beat so far).
Innis can also DataDrain and make copies "Illusions" of Monsters, he´ll fly up in the air and creates three Illusions of monsters, which crashes on the ground and hurt your party...but that isn´t much of a threat.

Like Skeith, Innis is also very fast in moving around...so I would suggest you to use speed charms or Ap Do (the spell form the time armor if you have it).

You must have BlackRose in your party, so make sure she has a good sword with physical skills (best would be a Lv 2-skill).

Bring along a huge set of restoratives, antidotes and ressurrects, the battle can took some time.

For your third character spot it depends which strategy you want to use:

If you (Kite) want to do the healing part by yourself and stay away from Innis, I would suggest you to bring along Sanjuro or Gardenia, then issue them (and Blacky) the skills command so that they hack on Innis with physical skills.

If you want to attack Innis personally with Kite (with Skills like Twin Dragons or Staccato for example) I would recommend to use Elk...he´s a fast healer and you should donate him a equipment which allows him to use La Repth (better would be Ola Repth) and also give him a big amount of status healing items and ressurrects.
Issue Elk then the First Aid!-command and start slashing Innis together with Blacky.

Which strategy you want to use is up to you...;)

Even if you don´t have Ap Do (you need at least one part of the time armor set) it´s good to have always up to 30 speed charm-scrolls in your Pocket to use...the time equipments are only Lv. 11 and at the latest in Outbreak you´ve so much better Equipment that it´s not worthy to hold on to the time-equipment any longer.

It also helps to get through Dungeons quickly and catch mage-type monsters who ran away from you and then tries to cast a spell...beside from the usefulness against the phases... :D

Well, at least the speed charms don't cost much, so buying a lot won't be a problem. Thanks. :)

it's pretty simple. Use Gardenia and Blackrose to attack. Boost theire attack and defence. Let kite heal. So simple yet so smart

Elk and BlackRose worked for me. Elk died once or twice because he forgot to save his own but and just stood there when Innis smashed down, DIRECTLY ON TOP OF HIM! :!: :!: :!:
Instead of dwelling on the fact that I can't log out, I think of it as I don't have to log out.

I beat Innis! And I beat him on the first try too! (With Skeith, I died the first time and dominated the second.) I got super nervous and leveled up until I was level 44. lol

But now, I have to defeat Cubia! Oh dear Lord, please help me. Well, I'm off to the forum's search page...

Well, you should learn to tolerate Cubia...kukuku, you´ll encounter it several times and each time it gets bigger and you have to kill of more Cores.
...uh yeah, and it learns new attacks too...Legions Reach and Balle D'Arche are peanuts against Megiddo Flame or Jihad...

Well, for fighting Cubia...the first time you´ll fight it you have to take Mistral with you, second time you must use  BlackRose and Balmung (as I´ve found out in Outbreak, dunno about Quarantine cuz I haven´t started it yet).

As second Charakter I would recommend Sanjuro, BlackRose or Gardenia. If you like to you can also take Elk as a second Wavemaster for attacking with spells and let Mistral healing...but it takes longer then since you only have yourself to attack when Cubia switches to Magic Tolerance.
When the Cubia Core comes out, it has most likely Physical Tolerance at first, then start off with ordering Mistral to attack the core with spells and you should do so by yourself.
If a Repth Gomora is floating around there, order Sanjuro/BlackRose/Gardenia to kill it off to prevent this thing of healing the core.
Ignore all Kill-,Varia- and similar Gomoras, they´re just annoying, not really dangerous.
Heal negative status and serious HP-Losses with Kite. Watch out the damage you´ve dealt to the core and ensure that Kite and Sanjuro/Blacky/Gardenia have always 2/3 of their HP and Mistral is at full health, since after enough damage is dealt Cubia calls the core back and launches an big attack like Legions Reach (the worst in the first Cubia encounter is Megiddo Flame, watch out for it).
After Cubias attack the core comes back, with switched tolerance, so set then Mistral at healing and Sanjuro/Blacky/Gardenia again on the Repth Gomora while you hack and slash on the core by yourself...

...keep going by this and switching the orders of your party due to the latest tolerance and Cubia should flew off pretty fast..

If you know the tactic for Cubia it isn´t much of a threat...but the final encounter (the fourth) is somewhat difficult although the tactic didn´t change...simply because you´ve to beat three cores with increasing HP after getting through a 10-Floor dungeon before you come to the face to face encounter with Final Cubia.
It´s possible that you´ll run out of items...and Cubia constantly keeps growing and learning new nasty attacks...Final Cubia can beat the hell out of you if you´re not prepared (high level, good armor and weapons) with the  Armageddon - attack.
So have fun at the last encounter with Cubia in Quarantine, all other Cubia-fights are nearly the same except of Cubia spilling out some new attacks...I don´t know any monster that has so many several special attacks like Cubia...

I've beaten Innus a long time ago I don't really remember who I brought along...but just keep attacking him...if you want bring a wavemaster to do all the healing. He's pretty easy so just keep slashing at him. You could even use your physical skills if you'd like to make the battle easier...but always replenish your HP ^^ oh, and use the best equipment!

lol...in //INFECTION I would always level up 5 levels more than the area level would be...but after beating //INFECTION I don't do that anymore...I just charge right in...well now I'm scared again because I have to grab all the items I can to complete this event...and I'm only level 93...I would never dare to go to a level 98 area...*sigh* I'll never get all the items...
