.hack//Z.E.R.O. Announced!

Post by d5t »

It also appears to be confirmed a console game - I was really expecting a mobile game given CC2 is now the developer and publisher. Excited, this fanbase deserves something new; Namco Bandai has handled the franchise very poorly since Last Recode - and I would argue even a bit before that.

From CC2's Twitter account: https://x.com/cc2information/status/202 ... 04956?s=20

The Rebirth of .hack
─────────────────
The .hack series has always been developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, but for .hack//Z.E.R.O., Bandai Namco Entertainment has given CyberConnect2 permission to manage the entirety of the project from planning and development to release. It will be a title that is fully self-published by CyberConnect2.

World-renowned violinist Taro Hakase has penned the music, kick-starting the project to the dexterous tune of his violin. .hack//Z.E.R.O. will be a novel RPG experience that blends the series’ trademark duality of fantasy (game world) and reality (real world) with modern expectations, infused with 100% pure CyberConnect2 spirit. The game will be enjoyable for both veteran fans and new players alike. Please look forward to this newest iteration of .hack.

YESSSS FINALLYYYYY I honestly can’t wait to see this project becoming REAL. I’ve seen some designs that I just love (there is this balmung-like character who looks so perfect) oh god

I haven't used a forum of this kind in ages but I remember this site kind of and I need to let my excitement be known due to today's news. I'm a big nostalgic person and even though I never got around to play the 4 OG games nor watched SIGN (yet) I did play all the G.U. games and they had a big impact on me to the point of motivating me to continue learning English (also Ragnarok Online).

I really hope this reboot turns out to be good. I wish to see what they do with dungeons (really don't want dungeon crawling) and the combat and that is challenging (not hardcore challenging or maybe it can have difficulty levels) cause I was very disappointed with the G.U. remaster and how easy it is. Characters look good with their own distinct designs which I appreciate and I hope those visuals from the trailer translate to The World and the areas, it seems Chikayo Fukuda is coming back as well so I cannot wait for her work. Lastly I don't expect an incredible story but I hope it's good enough and so the dialogues for characters, I can only hope.

Now the real excitement begins!

My fondest memories of this series is coming on to this board and theorycrafting what's to come. I remember the hype for G.U.'s release, and then Vol 2 and Especially Vol. 3 Where we were trying to put together who exactly was Aina. Then came Link and Versus, I especially remember the mystery around Versus with the way it told it's story. Bullet too, took so long to get the full thing but having it fill in the pieces was exciting too.

Hard to believe it's already been 8 years since Last Recode too!

Now we've got like 2 years of looking through teasers and probably looking into Fuga too, you never know with CC corp what might come together!

My only hope is that this won't be a full reboot, although we're seeing Kite and Blackrose and Balmung and lots of IMOQ mirroring. Crazy crackpot theory, this is a post-MAMA digitalization world on a time loop? Based on nothing of course, and it would probably have to ignore New World and Guilty Dragon XD

So excited to read through the forums for crazy ideas again!

Gonna go ahead and do alot of speculation...

With zero as the title it's gonna include all of that storyline of that novel series (most of which was canceled)

Kites final design will change by release

Might have some IMOQ remaking

Game engine will be new or modified Kakarot..

DLC skins at fair price or free..

Before I comment proper, it does my warm my soul to know that this place still exists and that there is still such an underground but incredibly strong fan base for this series.

I am now remembering the frustration I had with the original GU games (WHICH NEVER RELEASED IN AUSTRALIA, I had to get them from the states with a hacked PS2) and am glad we have moved past this problem... Right?...

Right?...

I can't believe we are so back with this.
The scream I let out the second I saw the announcement roll up on my timeline as I was scrolling.
I spammed the fk out of my sibling's DMs and now I need to gush to someone else or I'll explode from the excitement _(´ཀ`」 ∠)

I'm glad CC2 somehow managed to get the series out of Bandai purgatory.
Suppose I should do my annual random .hack// go-through early this year in celebration, lol.

There’s a name I haven’t seen in many years! Great feeling seeing a lot of us old timers showing back up.

This announcement mixed with a 2hr talk with a friend who hasn't gotten into .hack yet brought me back to these old stomping grounds and now I'm ready to dive back into .hack all over again <3 So excited for a new game in the franchise!
