Upcoming Wii U game by monolith "X"

Mecha? Giant Aliens? Swords? Transforming Mecha? X? Could this be another of the Xeno series?

It's pretty obvious this is going to be a Xeno title, but whether or not it will be called Xenoblade 2 isn't very clear. I honestly think they shouldn't call it Xenoblade since the reason why Xenoblade was called Xenoblade, the Monado, isn't present as far as I have seen.

Others are calling it a connecting game between Xenoblade and Xenogears due to all the Gears, mechs, but those are supposedly two separate universes, so is Xenosaga's universe. All I can say right now is that other than the heart attack/stroke/seizure that was the reveal of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 "X" is the only game that has really caught my attention this E3. Nintendo really needs step it up before I buy a Wii U, or they could lower the price.

To be fair I'd be more surprised is Square decided /not/ to continue milking their one of a kind cash-cow and returned to games that are actually decent, like the Chrono Series.

Nintendo really needs step it up before I buy a Wii U, or they could lower the price.

To be fair I'd be more surprised is Square decided /not/ to continue milking their one of a kind cash-cow and returned to games that are actually decent, like the Chrono Series.

Nintendo really needs step it up before I buy a Wii U, or they could lower the price.

Square has been quite the con artist with it's Final Fantasy IOS games, All the Bravest anyone, but after Following Final Fantasy XV for the past 6-7 years it looks like Tetsuya Nomura's team might bee their saving grace after the mediocre XIII series and the disaster that was XIV.

When it comes to Nintendo I already own a 3DS and I like it a lot, but the Wii U is another story all together. During E3 I felt that Nintendo was being safe with the Wii U and most of the games they showed off were essentially redesigns of previous titles, a lot of which were on the 3DS and Wii. Super Mario 3D World's cat suit is not a giant leap like Mario Galaxy's gravity manipulation was. Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, which I'm sure will be as good or better than Returns, didn't live up to my expectations of Retro Studios, I was hoping they would work on another Nintendo franchise or an original IP. The only game that got my attention aside from "X" was Sonic Lost World which seems to be Sonic's Super Mario Galaxy, which looks good but doesn't feel as new as Galaxy did.

I'm not completely against the Wii U, but I was sure disappointing with most of the Wii U showings at E3. With the PS4 costing $399 and the Wii U costing $349 there is just a lot more pressure for me to buy a PS4 with it's power and comparable price point.

Monolith helped develop Zelda Skyward Sword, and I'd like Nintendo to shake things up by allowing them to develop the next Zelda title, after they are done with "X" of course.

I must've misunderstood you when you said Nintendo needs to step it up, as the 3DS is pretty much 'the' games console to have at the moment, especially given the lineup that it's getting as of this year.

As for FFXV, I'm not holding any high hopes until I not only see the gameplay in the final version, but also the way that they've decided to take the story.It's my honest opinion that the high points of the series were VI, IX  and XIIfor the simple fact that the character casts were actually interesting  and that the MC of each wasn't a broody edgy male in his early twenties Vaan is /not/ the MC of XII, It's Balthier.

The 3DS is where it is at right now in terms of handhelds, and ever since I got into Steam, and their sales, my PC has been amazing for most of the console games.

As for Final Fantasy I agree with all of your choices. The only thing is that while XII had great characters the gameplay wasn't my cup of tea, I played mostly with gambits set up, it is worse than XIII's autobattle IMO. The interesting thing though is that Xenoblade Chronicles has a similar system to Final Fantasy XII and I really like it. Perhaps it is just the differences between Square Enix's and Monolith Soft's entertainment philosophies or something, but I have been more impressed with Monolith Soft's Xeno and Baten Kaitos series than I have been with Square's Final Fantasy series as of late. Final Fantasy XV looks epic and might have some great characters, Noctis' father stands out the most to me sticking his green tongue out at us, but I don't get the sense of wonderment that I get out of the two "X" trailers.
