Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of the Two Worlds

Post by TheSorrow »

I know there's another topic somewhere buried around here, but it's kinda old now and it was more about the announcement of it rather than the actual game so ANYWAYS 8D

Anyone here who plays or has played this game?
Or has something to share about it at least?
And/or is willing to help a silly noob to improve his skills and get a certain trophy and stuff? 8D

I've played it, but I don't actually own a copy. The only person I've played against is the friend who's copy I was playing. While he actually knew how to use his characters pretty well I managed to get about a 1:1 win:lose ration via almost constantly calling for my other two guys to pop in and attack him. That and I got pretty good at keeping him from doing much of anything with Trish's giant blade.
So, my main team was C. Viper, Trish, and I think Chun Li or The Hulk. Viper because she had a flaming kick attack. Trish and Chun Li because I liked their hyper moves or whatever they're called. And I found The Hulk's Gamma Wave support move was rather potent. What are y'alls favorite teams and why?

I've played against my friends, found my best character combo is Dante, Dr. Doom, and Wesker. They get pissed because I stay ranged whenever possible.

I hate people who get ranged too ;( Whenever they get ranged on me i usually get owned or manage to avoid the ranged attack but get to eat a whole air combo or hyper combo (aka owned too). And whenever i get ranged they easily high-jump out of the way or simply overpower me with their own ranged attacks X(

I bought this game a while ago and have been playing it for at least a month of 2-hour gaming sessions or so. I have finished the normal game and obtained almost all trophies but have been destroyed online in Ranked Matches so freaking much...My rank is still Fighter and my win ratio should at around 1:5 or so D:

My current team is Dante, Wesker and Sentinel...i've used all characters at least once (at least enough to finish the game with them) and i've got a liking to several, but i've had a greater preference for these characters and have used them all over while still trying to learn the basis on this game. And my main problem with this game is that i SUCK at moving and blocking overall. I move in to attack the opponent...i get hit all over. I move away...i get owned by ranged attacks or forced to move close to get hit all over again. I wait for the opponent to get close...i get hit before i can even block (or block but their combos involve low/mid attacks so i'm screwed). I jump for whatever reason, be it to dodge or an attempt to move close...the opponent either hits me mid-air or pwns me as soon as i land and before i can do anything about it. And not to mention how whenever i get the chance for a team air combo i get knocked back but can't ever defend myself from enemy team aerials.
I don't really have trouble pulling off combos...once i get a hit i can easily chain attacks that involve a normal-to-air combo, smacking down the opponent (no longer use team air combos after so many knockbacks), lifting them up with down-direction attacks and either using a hyper combo or a small air combo. The problem is that i don't even get the chance to start any combo for the reasons mentioned above. And even if i do, it usually isn't enough since the online players totally know how to hit me as soon as i recover from a combo and even directly link attacks on me as soon as my next character comes, while all i can do as the opponent switches is to sit back and brace for impact. If i win it's either because i fought someone with skills as amazing as mine or did a very good Sentinel spamming with X-Factor.
So yeah, i suck at it .___. But i still love to play regardlessly. It's a great and enjoyable game even though i know it's over the moment i get the first attack from my enemy. lol

The thing I really hate is when noobs use simple mode to spam attacks. Amaterasu, Zero, and Trone Bonne is my team. Now if only this game had most stages because 9 is too few.
