Are you guys at "War" with the "offical" dot hack forums?

Post by nishibushi »

I noticed this was talked about before, but it was a thread that was over two years old, and i was just wondering. I recently went there and noticed that its nothing but jerks and people saying you steal information from them xD.(Man I miss the days when altimit corp was still around). Anyway i know this is a completely pointless post, was just curious if anything else happened with them recently.

Also the section is off-topic so it fits well :p
If talking about a dead thread, in a new one is against the rules than i apologize (didn’t see a rule that was specific to this case)

I've never even heard of them.
And if all they do is complain and troll, then what makes them so 'official'?

they probably took up residence when the real occupants left and try to pass off as legit.

When I left, the real residents were still there months after the mods disappeared. An admin never showed up, and AFAIK (I'm not looking), they still have a Reminisce banner at the top of the forum. They seemed happier without any mods, so unless there was a flood of trolling, I doubt they left.

Real caring though, those Bamco folk. Can't even be arsed to change a banner. -_-

As for that info-stealing thing, someone was trying to sign into my account a few months ago (found out via e-mail). Maybe they're talking about some PW-guess-happy nutjob they don't have the means to identify?

No, that's the preferred course of action. The official rule with regards to months-old topics is that, in my words, thread necromancy can go suck a railroad spike.

I love how people try to make things more exciting than they are here... sadly I'm boring and Kuukai is equally boring (and busy doing something awesomely more effective!). We don't have time for cyber warz!

If memory serves, dothackers.net was online years before BandaiNamco decided to put up an official "English" forum for the North American users. And as quickly did their forum go up, quickly it was abandoned and now crawling with spambots unlike here. I mean, it's not much of a war when your opponent is lying on the floor decomposing.

The quickest answer is: There was no war, they never had a chance.

Ah wow i didn't realize dothackers.net was around that long. Yeah after i posted that i realized that the crap they were talking about was dated like 3+ years ago haha. The newest stuff just has people cussing out newcomers to the site. It's quite sad, to see it become that. At hte time i was only doing altmit corp stuff, if i knew i would have definitely paid attention with these forums over bamco's ones lol.

I think the official forums was the site that made me think dothackers was full of trolls and whatnot(Thought that to about 2 years ago when i started paying attention to the site and realized i was wrong lol)

@masterZED, Ah ok good to know about that, didn't want to annoy people on here :).

Hmm...I haven't been on the forums lately over there, but sometimes I go just to have a quick laugh or too, then head back here to have a conversation or two about things worth talking about.

Here's a good tidbit to remember, especially on the Interwebz: people who like something don't complain - they go on liking that thing happily. One single person who dislikes something can blow it out of proportion.
