Uncharted series discussion thread
I just finished uncharted: drake's fortune and I was impressed how it played, it was like a prince of persia plus syphon philter, and I thought I might start a thread pertaining to the uncharted series so far, and before anyone says anything yes I'm going to buy uncharted 2 and along 3 when it comes out, so does anyone here know anything about the story in 3?

Why must you post this NOW!?!? :is in UC2 MP withdrawal:
Anyway, the story's going to have a lot to do with Sir Francis Drake's ring, judging from the post and trailer showing off the new villain. I'm guessing it's gonna be the hot potato of UC3, like the "golden passport" was in 2.
Speaking of 2, play the MP when you can, it might become a ghost town when the UC3 MP beta drops for all players in early July (at least for awhile).

Re: Uncharted series discussion thread
I've only played Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and i really enjoyed getting the Platinum trophy on it. I still remember the epic times i had in Crushing Mode, such like working my way all over the tower in the monastery (and getting sniped a million times) and fighting against Lazarevich and his BARRAGE OF 1000% ACCURACY GRENADES OF DOOM. Fun times indeed :3 It wasn't a hard game at all...more like a fun one that required a good memorization of areas and enemies and thinking more than twice before moving from your cover. I also remember getting all of the costumes and having fun with stuff like Zero Gravity or whatever it was. lol
However, i didn't like the Multiplayer at all. I don't exactly remember why, and i must point out that i only played it for one day (5 day rental, spent 4 days finishing the offline game)...but, for whatever reason, i only played the normal multiplayer twice and got really annoyed at it, and really suffered in the Co-Op mode due to LOTS of disconnections and players completely messing things up... like never getting into the highlighted circle thingy and just shooting around, which made it extremely frustrating to get a trophy i needed -_-;; Not a good Multiplayer experience at all.
Not sure if i have plans for playing Drake's Fortune, but i'm all up for the 3rd game, and hopefully for a more enjoyable multiplayer for me this time. Even though i don't know when it's going to be released and i'll probably start playing it far after the release date, but yeah 'XD lol

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception so far has a scheduled release date of Nov 1, 2011. Basically what Naughty Dog has released of the story so far is that this game will focus on the relationship between Drake and his mentor Sully as they head to the Rub' al Khali desert in the middle east in search of the Iram of the Pillars, which is basically a desert version of Atlantis. It is rumored that Sir Francis Drake once found it, and that it contains the Fountain of Youth. Much of the new gameplay being added is about how you work with Sully and how Sully will work with you in both puzzles and fights.

Sounds like you got dealt several bad hands, is all (and yeah, that can happen). If you were just looking for Co-op trophies, asking around here or the ND forum would've done you some good.TheSorrow wrote:However, i didn't like the Multiplayer at all. There's something i still didn't like about the Multiplayer though...probably something that had to do with the game setup or the weapons :/ And yet i loved RDR and Black Ops as soon as i started playing their online modes.Master ZED wrote:Sounds like you got dealt several bad hands, is all (and yeah, that can happen). And yeah, i was just looking for ONE single trophy so asking somewhere for help would've made things easier (ND forum?...Nth Dimension? wazzat? D:)...However, again, i only had less than 24 hours since i decided to get the trophies to the time i had to stop playing for good, and i don't think i would've gotten a proper reply or a proper setup for the "helping" during that time D: Took us like more than a week in the Brotherhood topic, so yeah.
And i don't think i'll be getting Uncharted 2 again...it sure was a fun game and all, but there's nothing more i can do in the Single Player mode other than mess around with zero gravity, and i'm not eager to try the Multiplayer again...not even for the trophies since i recall they were very time-consuming. Whenever Uncharted 3 comes out, however, i will be eager to play it and try the Multiplayer in that one, so if this topic is still alive by then we could come up with game setups in here and either get trophies or just have fun killing at each other ;P lol

Re: Uncharted series discussion thread
Probably the people. I quit this game for a couple of months recently when my matchmaking kept pairing me with idiots and team killers, and came back after I had an idea about how the matchmaking worked and it *appears* to be correct so far. The biggest problem you'll face with the Co-op Arena playlist by far is finding people both willing and able to play Gold Rush, and to a lesser extent, Siege (though I see that was a bigger issue for you than GR, apparently).TheSorrow wrote:There's something i still didn't like about the Multiplayer though...probably something that had to do with the game setup or the weapons :/ And yet i loved RDR and Black Ops as soon as i started playing their online modes.
Oh, I meant the Naughty Dog forum (it's still down right now, but I don't think it'll be like that for too much longer). That's the site of the dev's for the Uncharted series, but it's far from the atrocity that is the official .hack forum.TheSorrow wrote:And yeah, i was just looking for ONE single trophy so asking somewhere for help would've made things easier (ND forum?...Nth Dimension? wazzat? That's too bad really. I think the MP's a little basic, but it's still pretty damn fun. It's also my first serious online game, so I'm partial to it. I like committing slaughters in Co-op Arena too much to really let go of it just yet.TheSorrow wrote:And i don't think i'll be getting Uncharted 2 again...it sure was a fun game and all, but there's nothing more i can do in the Single Player mode other than mess around with zero gravity, and i'm not eager to try the Multiplayer again...not even for the trophies since i recall they were very time-consuming.
The MP beta for UC3's supposed to be out June 28 for PS+ subscribers and those with InFamous 2, a week later for everyone else (assuming we're not all on our free month of PS+, what with how long Sony's taking to put the store back up and all). If it's anything like the UC2 beta, it'll be up until release day, so you might be making good on that invite sooner than you think.TheSorrow wrote:Whenever Uncharted 3 comes out, however, i will be eager to play it and try the Multiplayer in that one, so if this topic is still alive by then we could come up with game setups in here and either get trophies or just have fun killing at each other ;P lol

So how do I defeat lazaravic? It doesnt feel like the cinematic fight with Atoq in drake's fortune and he's impervious to bullets, and all I'm armed with is the m4 and some pistol.

The last battle at the magic tree's roots, right? That was such a fun final boss battle o3oKaori wrote:So how do I defeat lazaravic? It doesnt feel like the cinematic fight with Atoq in drake's fortune and he's impervious to bullets, and all I'm armed with is the m4 and some pistol.
To defeat him, you must shoot at those blue sap thingies. Shoot at them whenever Lazarevic passes by and he'll be damaged as long as he's in range of the explosion. I don't remember how many times you had to damage him, but he'll react to the explosions in different ways during the course of the battle...by the time he yells "DRAAAAAAAKE" you'll know you're close to winning, but you should also be very careful and swift since he'll go crazy mode. So, you don't need any strong weapon or even alot of bullets (unless you're like me and spam-shoot trees instead of properly aiming to hit teh sap), all you need is any weapon that can shoot bullets to hit the sap. Grenades might work too, but you need to be VERY GOOD at using them, so that they explode as soon as they fall down, and they manage to destroy a sap, and in turn, hurt Lazarevic while he's still in range. Sap constantly regenerates during the fight too, so don't worry about running out of it...though you should still try your best to make every shot worth it.
I recommend you to run far from him, to open the distance far enough, wait for him at a corner with a sap to shoot, and shoot at the sap when he appears. During his crazy mode (running fast and spamming you with everything), you should forget about waiting and just run to survive, pay attention to any shootable sap (by this point you should memorize the layout of the fight already, to not get stuck or lost since that means death), and quickly aim behind you and shoot at the sap while still running. In Crushing Mode, this is what you'll want to do at ALL times, because he's going to be way too fast and way too deadly with his attacks for you to take the luxury to stop one bit.
As of his attacks, he'll either shoot you with his sawed-off shotgun thing, hold you up to choke you and throw you away (can kill you if you're hurt, INSTANT DEATH in Crushing Mode with crazy Lazarevic mode), and, his deadliest attack IMO, he'll throw from 1 to 8 grenades towards you, the number and accuracy of them depending of Lazarevic's health and difficulty...so in Crushing Mode at low health he'll throw all of them and scatter them all around you so no matter where you are they'll explode in your face. That said, close-range fighting is out of the question (without even mentioning the fact you must shoot at the sap...and you'd kill yourself if you shoot at it in close range), and you should be VERY careful with his grenades. I have few recommendations about it, but just keep running and try to be wherever those shiny red things bounce the least, run towards trees or something so they get stuck there, and if you're at a point where you need to jump a pit, and he throws the grenades, wait enough so that they fall in your current position (not where you'll jump to) or into the pit...it helps too that you're kinda invincible during the jump. Oh, and never forget that his grenades can also destroy sap...which will not only will steal your chances of damaging him, but can also kill you, so be careful with that.
He isn't a truly hard or cheap boss, in my opinion...It's just a really fun and fair fight where you do need skills and lots of observation, you'll lose several times but you'll be much better everytime you try again, and you'll be so proud of yourself once you see him fall down. I did let out one of those "FUCK YEAH" yells when i killed him in Crushing, and those expressions of mine don't really happen too often. lol
