I'm holding back on calling it a spambot, because it's seemingly either starting possible topics of discussion, or being motivational-a la this topic ci.
I admit that it's spammy in the sense that the topics don't belong in the places they've been started, but that doesn't mean we can just move them to off-topic and continue the discussions there.
I hope this isn't a new 'moderator aptitude' test conjured up by the board's admins...

Yes, seemingly it's starting topics of discussion and interest, and not just outright spamming stuff about clothes or shoes or viagra or russian preteens...quite an interesting style for a spambot, and very curious since at first it seems like it just "dropping out" random motivational rambles, with no intend of spamming a product, or with anything that could be directly against the rules (other than the wrong forum thing)...but, it's nothing that i haven't seen before. Don't be fooled by its appearances, for it's not the "nice, inspirational and helpful" bot you might expect it to be:

It's still very interesting though, and very sneaky...I'm curious about how exactly the coding lines of this bot would be, but i can make an easy guess that it looks for a text online (maybe all of them coming from this Yahoo thingy, or after a certain keyword search), and replicates the exact body text, dropping the respective "spam text" each certain number of commas, fulfilling its purpose of spreading information about products and brands while hiding from obvious view, and, if lucky, leaving its post alive and fooling everyone else that it's just a random member sharing a random motivational thing to the world. But it's not...it's a spambot no different than the others, and one of the things i'm in charge of taking care of ಠ_ಠ

If you REALLY want me to leave this topic alive, and turn it into an interesting and relevant discussion (despite the origins of it), then i have nothing against that, and i'll just move it to the Off-Topic and let the discussion happen. It won't be the first time a spambot makes an actual interesting discussion even when it only meant to do some mindless spam, and any topics that might arise an interesting and relevant discussion, and not just lead to more spam or flaming or other things against the rules, are always welcomed XD But yeah, people must know the truth behind posts like this...that might seem all innocent at first but in truth they're not >3> lol

I didn't notice half the stuff about Ed Hardy e.t.c., and I misread a few adverts as showing racism and judgementalism...
I guess I should have based my view more off those tiny factors than the rest of the content.

Ok, now i have a great way to identify an Spam-Bot. How?. Simply, look at their username, and if it is one that is almost unrememberable (LOL) and have ONE or JUST TWO numbers on it's name it is a spambot:

Easily, just the same way they check their 'Mailbox' and they log in, they learn information about us right? well, some spambots, just like panbr93 didn't have ANY info AT ALL, or that's what i saw, maybe when they gather enough information they put their avatars and info

But doesn't it seem kinda dodgy to consider users a spam bot based off number combination? That stated wikipedia recommenced the use of a security question when logging in. Also: points to Bing Bot. I see you shadowed swine.

Nah, patience runs out very quickly. More like no dreams, no hobbies, nothing else to do in your life...and certain sadomasochist desires. A fast internet helps too if you aren't that much sadomasochist. lol
But you know...it wasn't MY job to deal with them that time, it was the Admins >3> In fact back then i was unable to do much other than poke them and run around all scared =3= lol

And to add a bit of information to the past posts:
-While "spambots" seem to do functions such like learn and check data, in truth, a "spambot" is actually composed of several little scripted "bots", all of which take care of all other functions, while the "spambot" itself simply makes a post with the information adquired by the rest. If i feel like it tomorrow and you want me to, i could explain to you just how a "spambot" works...though probably the wiki explains that already. Expect one of the huge rambles of mine though...so maybe it would be best for your sanity to just read the Wiki. lol
-While Bing[Bot] is definetly not the "source" of the spambots, i have to admit that such little Bot has been in the forums for far too long to consider it "normal". Maybe i'll have to look deeper into it or bother an admin about it...i don't think we can do much about it anyhow, just block it from view at best.
-Yes, there are so many ways to prevent "spambot attacks" from happening in a forum, and we have a couple of security measures in here. However, the more security you add, the more tedious it would be for members to post (or what, you want to fill a CAPTCHA and wait 5 minutes everytime you make a post? i sure as hell NOT .-.), and the more expensive it'd be for the forum as well. That's why, instead of bigger and expensive security measures, d5t has Moderators instead. They don't need any payment other than grunty milk and cookies, and they deal with BOTH spam and spambots better and more effective than just random questions or added fields.

Yes, it was panbr93, and it was an annoying one >3>, and yeah im not TheSorrow, im just saying what i think he thinks, and whoever is creating them they are gaining information, maybe at a point that will make something to the forums (I hope not) and i think the spambots that are without info are a prototype to the others that come with info and all, haven't you noticed yet? that when a spambot without information posts another one with information posts? they are like Nyx and Ryoji-Kun, Ryoji was the call over to Nyx, and then, when Nyx appeared he was Nyx, its the same here with the spambots, when a 'Stupid' Spambot posts, then i a while a spambot that it seems to be more intelligent posts, and posts with EVEN more information
