Pokemon Black and White

So yeah, the games have just been released in Japan, and from what I've seen - they look well done. Still not used to the new designs, but I already have a few I may use for a team I have in mind.

Anyway, I don't know how many other Pokemon fans there may be on these forums, but I thought it might be an intresting topic to discuss nonetheless since these games look to be a lot different from at least the storyline of the rest of the series.

Pokemon has been and gone in my view.
I've lost all possible sense of fun fun that came with training pokemon to particitpate in online bouts after building up 4 perfectly EV trained teams, so the only real reason for getting this would be to rush through a new storyline, catch some new monz, and then give the game to someone else.

Truth be told, I only really want this game because Zoroark.

While I am excited for the new games, I will say that they are stretching the limit with some of the new features - triple battles don't look very appealing to me. Not to mention that it is true that any previously EV trained teams will be obsolete now. I don't really feel like training a whole new set of teams just to battle online.

Zoroark is one of those awesome new Pokemon I definitely want to catch though. XD They needed a new shape-shifter for the series. Or in general, another fox Pokemon.

I'm honestly rather excited for this game. The new Pokemon look great~ <3
I know a lot of people might not like them, but that doesn't bother me any. The only Pokemon I don't understand is that ice cream cone. Seriously wtf is that.

I'm also very satisfied with Pokabu and Emboar.
Tsutarja, Janoby, and Jaroda all look amazing, though, but I'm still pretty firm on choosing fire like I always do.
Mijumaru never interested me, and the release of its other two evolutions didn't inspire me enough to even consider it as a Pokemon I want. :I

Not much to say about new Pokemon games besides the Pokemon themselves, and the characters. Gameplay usually stays the same when ignoring the technical things, and triple battles are honestly not that interesting to me.

I'm really excited to experience the new aesthetics, though.

The ice cream cone and the trash bag Pokemon... I can't accept them as Pokemon. Strangely enough, my younger brother wants to make a team of the vanilla-ice cream cone Pokemon. Probably because he hates chocolate ice cream and he's happy about it being vanilla or something... o_o;

Tsutaja turned out awesomely, Pokabu's final evo reminds me of Ganon from Zelda, and I think I'm going with Mijumaru. =D Simply because my team fits with it. And I think it's design is intresting. XD

I will say that I love the new fossil Pokemon, the black cat/leopard, and the ghost chandelier.

The game's graphics look pretty nice too. I saw a few cutscenes and they look way above average for the Pokemon series.

I'm dissatisfied with all of the starters. Especially since Pokabu's andother Fire-Fighting >.> I mean Blaziken was cool, Infernape was a bit eh... but THREE FIRE-FIGHTING IN A ROW?! WTF! And I haven't heard anything about the other two's secondary types, do they have any?

I dislike the Grass starter's first form, and the other two look weak.
The water type reminds me of Garurumon

This might be the first time I throw away my starters.

I hate every single Gen V pokemon with a passion. The mushroom pokeballs? The Legendary's look alright. The Zoroak family is decent. if I do get the game, which I may have to, soon as I beat the Elite 4, I will throw them all away and just get my Platinum team.

Gen V doesn't seem like Pokemon to me. I know people say that all the time. But to me Gen 3 was just ugly, Gen 4 could get goofy at times, but this gen is just way off. Some of them look like digimon instead, or some generic anime trying to steal pokemon fans with little effort. That being said, there are a few I actually like, probably more I like this gen than gen 3. I guess its just hit and miss for me. Or hit and miss and miss and miss.

I've honestly grown to like the creepy trashbag Pokemon! lol
It's just so silly looking.

I also am heavily reminded of Antares when I see him. Not that I care much for Antares, but that's probably what I'm going to name him when I get him, haha.

By the way, be careful about posting images from the games around here, Pokebeach and Serebii were contacted by Nintendo and told to remove all B/W images from their sites because it will hurt their sales or something. =/

If anyone didn't realize it, Best Wishes is one of those well thought out Japanese puns that makes Pokemon awesome. Obviously there's the BW thing, but also it's read "besuto uISSHU".

Yay! I didn't think too many other people liked him. I think his design is just really awesome looking, plus, he's strong and his role in that one movie was really intesting.

I been playing the Jap version for a while. I do like the graphics and the new battle graphics. But I don't think I will bother with keeping the starters.

I'm definitely considering getting these, but the designs are really hit-and-miss. I LOVE the electric zebra, the grass starter, the candelabra, the ocean sunfish... but a lot of others just really turn me off. Trash bag? :\

Not getting this. After Gen 2 I really am just not having any fun at all really, it certainly doesn't help that the designs become increasingly overly complex with each new generation for no good reason. Really the only Pokemon post gen 2 I liked was Gardevoir and the only characters have been Cynthia and Corn, all these for looks alone.

I don't know about the rest of you but looking at generation after generation of these I'm becoming more and more disgusted. Platinum was the last chance for me (didn't get Diamond and Pearl) and I really couldn't bring myself to care all throughout, nothing about Black and White (with the exception of Corn but like hell if I'd even choose some dumb pig to fight him) seems to appeal to me so... not buying.
