Chevrons and Screen Glitches. Yep, definitely the .hack staple.

Also, the color pallet and graphics in general. It's like whoever made this went to art school with -sai-. She's in Avatar Space or something. Several of the scenes resemble things like "Empty Atoli", the multi-epitaph Skeith scene, Aura's "dawn", etc. I don't think I could ever enumerate how many things about this video make me think of .hack... It was a common comment on the Niconico version, too...

Scathe Spell fron FF XII. I think we all should know what this remotely resembles. My slight fetish for this skill in .hack should be a reasonable clue. Another note is the pronunciation of this particular spell.

Ever since my (very very very) recent Yu-Gi-Oh craze, I've been comparing it with .hack on the sole basis that "games are serious business". Oh, and in one of the filler seasons, Joey Wheeler aka Katsuya Jounouchi dons a suit of armor that resembled Haseo's third form (although I wasn't the first to notice XD).
