Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem.

Well, sadly, the game hasn't been localized yet (it just came out, so understandable), but I have gotten a small taste of its awesomeness. I swear it is one of the best FE games I've ever played, and not just because I was hoping for a remake of Book 2!

Only thing I really don't like is how the base arena charges you, but hey, I guess they couldn't really make it pay you back for every round because that would just make it way too broken. XD Oh yeah, and the sprites are still fairly simple like its predecessor, but they do seem to have slightly smoother animations. Or that could just be me rocking out to the music...

Also, support conversations are, once again, nonexistent (but there are base conversations in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn style). The prologue is exceedingly long, difficult and a bit monotonous (8 parts). There's a "Casual" mode that allows you to play without fear of your characters dying (except Marth or My Unit, it's still a game over if they die, but everyone else that dies will come back at the end of the chapter). Of course, if you still want to play regular FE, "Classic" mode will kill off people that die permanently.

There are four difficulty levels: Normal, Hard, Maniac and Lunatic. (Since I'd gotten into Touhou not long before playing the game, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that one. XD) I've only tried Normal myself, but that's mainly because I'm no expert at FE. The game's hard enough on Normal, but I guess there are some masochistic people or those who are exceedingly good at FE that like to challenge Lunatic!

Anyway, overall, the game is once again a display of how good Intelligent Systems is. I love it to death and I haven't even gotten to play it in English. XD It is a bit frustrating at times, but such is the nature of Fire Emblem...
let's cross the sky, to the future!
