So, I'll admit. The stuff that I've seen here I actually used in real world situations (i.e. relationships, school, and just down right home stuff) and oddly enough, they've produced good results in the long run, although I did get a few eyebrows raised when asked who I received the info from during reports and stuff, and after saying, "oh. Some members on a forum site about a japanese RPG, like S1lentOp, AuraTwilight, Kuukai, and others.
" The amazing thing about it is the fact that they actually took that as a credible source. o_o So weither or not I just promoted dothackers as a credible source for some things, I certainly didn't expect that to happen. So, anyone else want to admit about using information on here to risk getting a few A's or a reputation boost? ;P

Re: Knowledge
Guilty .3.
At times during debates about random things, like religious stuff, stuff about dimensions, the universe, or historical stuff, i bring up information that i read here and use it as part of my discussion. Not like "stealing what they said" since i never claim to have found such knowledge on my own, but it's like, i originally think of something and have theories about something (dimensional stuff, for example...knowledge i learned on my own), i discussed it on here once, proved wrong by the biggest minds here (AT completely telling me i'm wrong and why...sometimes), and so getting all "Oh, ok", and using that new knowledge for new discussions. And whenever asked by my friends where i learned it, i either say "the internet", "forums", or "from people way smarter than me"...some get interested more, but most simply don't care about where i got it from and yet still use such knowledge if any similar debate rises again. Never done it for actual school work, mostly since there's never been something in here that i'd apply for a work at the time (would've been GREATLY helpful if Erranty's topic about perpetual motion had existed months ago...since i had to make a project like that for Systems Modelling, and the generator they talk about is the very same i used for my Aerogenerator XD), but i'd probably use it if it was possible. Because seriously, the knowledge shared in here by members like AT, SilentOp and Kuukai is seriously so amazing and so worth for knowing and sharing. And i know it's not exactly the best to just believe all someone says...But, whenever any of such members says something, they have so much basis behind, so many reliable sources to support their statements, as well as their own amazing intelligence and logic sense that there's seriously nothing you can do except agree, since they've spoken the truth alright D8' I can easily say that AT is way smarter than all of my teachers (....*has a random thought of AT as a teacher*...Best class EVER XDDD)
And it's not just about "science", but many members in here have given such advices about life, work, relationships, cooking even, that even though i wasn't the one to ask for such advice, and maybe didn't even required at the point, they're very worth remembering as it's quite some helpful advice, and that i've applied or might apply in the future, and i know they'll give me quite good results. I'm sure i've said this in other topics as well, but, in this forum i've learned far more than just .Hack, and more than i'd ever expect to learn as well. And all the members in here are so smart and you can keep quite awesome discussions and debates like you wouldn't do anywhere else. If you wish to learn so many things you never even thought you would see one day, dothackers is your forum indeed.

Re: Knowledge
I never really used something I learned here, except on random stuff. Also, my grades on English classes have gone up to 10/10 since I started participating here =P (ok, it was already 8~9/10 before, but it increased x3)
I guess no matter the subject, everyone would fail, and the worst would be public humiliated =P
LOL, AT as teacher would be so... weird, I think.TheSorrow wrote:(....*has a random thought of AT as a teacher*...Best class EVER XDDD)

Re: Knowledge
I EXEMPTED ALL MY ENGLISH CLASSES AT UNIVERSITY WITH A PERFECT 10/10 GLOBAL EXAM THANKS TO DOTHACKERS!!!! 8DDAlso, my grades on English classes have gone up to 10/10 since I started participating here =P (ok, it was already 8~9/10 before, but it increased x3)
...
Well, not really. Been on teh interwebz since i was 12-13 years old and one of my very first sites was an english one, not to mention all the music i'd listen to in english, and all videogames i'd play, and so on. Still, being in here, posting and all, sure has expanded my vocabulary...i guess. Can't really give credit for dothackers for that, since like 90% of my "online interaction" occurs in english, be it here or other sites or even Facebook and Twitter, and i have to talk in english even to my girlfriend, so yeah 'XD

Re: Knowledge
You know, I'm actually considering teacher as a career path, since it's something a lot of my family members have done and I have an addiction for school environments.
I'd be so weird too. I wouldn't tolerate nonsense or sass from my students, but we'd frequently screw around. "Listen up brats. You pay attention during my lectures, and I'll make this class fun. Piss me off and you're going to wish I sent you to the Principal's Office. I don't DO that. =_="
All the students straighten the hell up. "Alright, great! ^_^ Now, let's discuss geology. Most of you are boys and we all know how distracted you are, so I'm going to do this using sexual metaphors."

Re: Knowledge
I've started using the internet less than 4 years ago (i didn't even had a computer before taht -_-'), and the only english sites I've really participated were GameFAQs, dothackers, Playfire and Neoseeker, I guess. But I only post on GFAQs and Neoseeker once every two months or so, and I only use playfire to talk to some friends from Brazil, so basically the only website where I talk only in English is here on dothackers =PTheSorrow wrote:Well, not really. (though I tend to mix up portuguese and english on MSN and some forums here on Brazil xD)
Also, you have to talk in english with your girlfriend? .-.
lol
@AuraTwilight: Though I already had a teacher kinda like that (one of the first things he said was "You can sleep on my class if you want, but if I hear you snore, I'll beat the crap out ya!" and he used to play Warcraft III with us on a lan house near the school after the classes xD), the first thing that comes to mind when I try to imagine you as a teacher is a kid being humiliated for being too stupid ^^"

I'd just sit at the back of the class, secretly have daydream sex about the teacher AT, and probably get at least 20% of the material discussed. :3 That or play PSP. And no. This particular acronym doesn't stand for Playstation Portable.

Re: Knowledge
I sure have. I learned, and at least consider many things AT, and S1lentOp said on my Science, and Religion topic. When it came to relationship things I petty much learn from most of the people who posted on those types of threads, and I discover it isn't hard to get a girlfriend. It is hard to find the right one, because any teen can go out with a masochist.
