Cosplay
So I have been wanting to go to a convention sometime cosplayed as a .hack character but I run in to a few problems...I'm not sure exactly who to go as. I thought for a while I'd go as Albireo from AI Buster but then I played the first installment of GU and I like Haseo a lot lol. After thinking about it for a few days I cam up with the thought that maybe I would make my own costume and go as an Adept Rouge of my own design...What do you people think?

Re: Cosplay
I've seen an influx of Haseo cosplays and while I love the man dearly, the fact that other people do as well makes me feel like I'm vying for his attention.
Albireo does sound like a neat concept for a cosplay, but go wherever you wish with this one. Your own Adept Rogue isn't entirely implausible. XD

Re: Cosplay
Azure Kite is also a good person to cosplay as.

Almost as overdone as Haseo, though.Keyaki wrote:Azure Kite is also a good person to cosplay as.

I recommend all females cosplay as Pi

Re: Cosplay
I recommend ALL cosplayers dress as Alkaid... so I can pelt them with various objects... or not since I don't go to conventions. <3
Better idea, try going as ANY IMOQ character that isn't Kite, Blackrose, or Elk. Just so you don't dress as a character that's stupidly overdone.

Re: Cosplay
I wholeheartedly support this Pi initiative. I also wanted to mention that one time at ACen I saw an original .hack cosplay, so it has been done. It was a random wavemaster. Anyone who knows the aesthetic can probably figure it out, so it's certainly a viable alternative to a specific character.

Re: Cosplay
I agree, it is pretty sad that there aren't many .hack cosplayers. I think that I should get a group together and we should cosplay anime/game characters that are looked over...

Re: Cosplay
That's not entirely true, since the first anime series broadcasted, there's been numerous counts of dothack cosplayers.Adept_Aiden wrote:I agree, it is pretty sad that there aren't many .hack cosplayers. Just finding them all and uniting them together would be tricky part. They're all over the net and some even not from the net. Here on this forum, other forums, various blogs including livejournal groups, deviant-arts and even facebooks. Most aren't from dothack specific groups but general cosplay groups, so you may have more luck at an anime in general cosplay group blog, site, or forum and asking how many cosplayed in dothack.
Re: Cosplay
There are generally a decent amount at ACen, but most of them didn't come to our panel. ;_; Kinda amazing considering we did get a whole roomful of .hack fans.

Re: Cosplay
Hmhm! I know that there have been a lot, but a group was what I was talking about. I've seen 1 .hack cosplayer ever in person, but even on the web it's rare that I find an even small group all cosplaying together. I would love to see 1 group do cosplays for all the characters from both the first and second .hack games. (.hack and .hack GU)

I'm pretty sure that cosplaymagic.com has some .hack Cosplays
If I remember correctly, they have: Atoli, Tsukasa, Elk, and Mistral.

Re: Cosplay
my friend Doodle did a pretty good Azure Kite last year at NDK. I was supposed to do Ovan but I didn't have time to get the arm prepped. I hate being a perfectionist sometimes...

Re: Cosplay
That's simply the effect of American Pop Culture. Well, from the otaku perspective at least. Mainly due to the fact that the common viewer and fan of anime has no idea about things that aren't advertised and/or presented on television. Also the fact that most series that were created before 2001 are rather unknown to the mass-populous at large.
