Anyway, I was wondering - does anyone know what that instrument is that is in most of the songs? It's some kind of ethnic string instrument, possibly a hammer-dulcimer, but I can't be sure. It's usually used in little bursts in the BGM, high pitched and sporatic. It's very pretty, and also has become very iconic of the G.U. trilogy for me. If I heard that sound anywhere I else, I'd surely think of G.U. right off the bat. XD

The .hack//G.U. Soundtrack
First of all, G.U. has one of the most BEAUTIFUL soundtracks I've ever heard. Almost every track, especially the gentle, vocal ones in the lost grounds - they just hit an emotional spot in me. I listen to that music while I'm drawing, and it helps inspire me a lot. I really FEEL it. I think music is a really important aspect of a game, and that's one thing .hack has always been top-notch in.

Heheh, I'm not sure what the name of that instrument is, but Chikayu Fukuda definitely seemed fond of using it when composing the G.U. soundtrack. Whenever I hear that sound now I think of G.U., so I guess in the end CC2 wins. lol

I love the G.U. soundtrack. The original games didn't have much impact on me other than the Phase fights, actually >.> But yeah, G.U. has a truly epic OST. XD
