Want to have a game tournament?
Dot hackers how about we have a small online gaming tournament between us? I thinking that we can set up a tourney table, and randomly match us up. In Brawl there can be 1 on 1 matches. Now a 3rd person will be referee. They will kill them self, and then watch the match. They will record who wins on the website. They will also tell others when to start there matches, and update how everything is going. We can have single, double, or round robin tournaments. I would like to do this for the fun of it. Well what do you think?

Re: Want to have a game tournament?
I think that even if I HAD a Wii, I wouldn't bother with this since someone is BOUND to lag and make the match suck.
Re: Want to have a game tournament?
The tourneys don't have to be in Brawl they can be in other games such as Halo 3, Tekken 5dr T6 when its comes out etc. As long as its a game that has online play. If we do have some tourneys can someone put it on Youtube. I really don't have the stuff for that right now. Lag won't be a problem from my connection, because I use Broadband. Wifi where I live sucks. I just can't stay on the website, and play at the same time.

Sounds like a good idea at first, but i doubt it will work out well. To begin with, we'll have to find people interested with a console and a game in common (i'm interested...but i only have a PS3 with MGS4 and RE5 for online playing, and i tend to lag alot but it's not my fault ._.'), then, if there's somehow enough people, we'd have to set the matches and dates, and it's going to be happening ALOT that people will miss the date of the match and only like 2 games will actually be done, and then there's gameplay problems such like lag and other stuff. And there'll also be a problem to find someone to record the match...for example, i have all the tools needed to record and upload to YouTube, but you can be guaranteed that my mere prescence will lag the whole game. The biggest problem would be to find the members and get exact dates so everyone participating won't miss their match...given the amount of active members and their average activeness, finding at least 4 members will be something difficult already.
I like more the idea to make a topic about gaming matches between members, and if possible record and upload videos of those matches to show them in that topic. Won't be exactly a tournament, but it still becomes some kind of "members vs members" contest and it's likely that after some people see some matches and share a common game they'll be willing to join easier. And, if for whatever reason, there's more than 4 or 5 players with the same game playing at once, then a tournament could be made (started and finished in the same day, or as the players decide), and then they post and upload it with the results and all, but still, everything being part of the same topic where any kind of matches are welcomed.

There is no use moving back, you can't trace back your path

Time has passed since we had last met, but we never meet without farewell

Yea that'll work better, but there is no way in hell that an actual tournament would work hereTheSorrow wrote:Sounds like a good idea at first, but i doubt it will work out well. Re: Want to have a game tournament?
Unless of course, everyone miraculously owned a Wii, a copy of Brawl, and an extremely fluid internet connection.
Re: Want to have a game tournament?
Quick question does PSP have the wifi capabilities for people to play against others worldwide. I would love to play Tekken 6, but I doubt I could on the psp version. I mainly play Brawl online these days. Sometimes I might play older games online such as Mortal Kombat Armageddon, Ratchet Deadlock, and a few others. Thank goodness for me having Broadband. Wifi is only reliable sometimes if its one of those connections you search, and fine a unlock connection. If you have your own its very reliable, and its so lag free. If you have your own you are better off locking it. If others come in on the connections it greatly slows down, and not to mention that even novice hackers can take advantage. When I Brawling online why is there always that one person with bad wifi coming in, but most of my matchs are lag free.

of course the PSP has wifi >>
Re: Want to have a game tournament?
I know Tekken 6 will have wifi just like in Tekken DR, but I wonder will I be able to fight others. In DR I could only download content, view rankings, and fight the ghost data of others people. I wish I had a PS3 that way I could fight people across the world.
