.Hack//Nativity (Slots Available!)
"I can't believe we made it through. . .We're actually here. We're actually back! Oh my god, Look--it's The World!" Cries a young lady dressed in a short red dress with belts tied around her waist. She stands for a moment on top of a cliff observing the barren wastland around her. There is a breeze that rushes by, pulling her blond curly hair behind her; she can't help but smile wide at the sight, and soon she turns around to look at another fellow.
"It's been almost a year, hasn't it?" She asks, gently moving her hair from her bright green eyes. Metallic bracelets dangle from her arms down to the bottom as she smiles. "I can't thank you enough for making this possible."
The person in front of her is a young man. Pale white hair and a pair of unusual red eyes. He wears a white shirt with belts tied around both of his arms. His skin is tanned, and there is a slight sense of accomplishment on his smile. He too can't believe whats just happened; he walks past the girl and gets to the peak of the cliff where he catches a better view of thier new home.
Around the couple are several other cliffs and talls pillars with strange symbols marked around them. The sky is wide, blue, and partly cloudy as the bright sphere above shines strongly over the desert. The wind is just fine, and it brings back memories for the boy overlooking the land.
"You do know what this means, right?" He asks suddenly.
The young lady approaches closer from behind, curious.
"Not alot people have been able to do this. We're one of the lucky few. . .so we must be careful. If anyone else finds out we made it through, we can get into trouble, and fast." He warns. Overall, the feeling of excitment is still inside him. "This world. . .it's been held away for almost a year since the "Locked" Incident. It's illegal to even have a copy of it in your house."
"Don't worry. I understand." She replies happily.
A satisfying silence follows as the both of them allow their sight to take everything in.
". . . .Well, what are we waiting for? Lets hurry and find our way to the root town!" He screams. "We might meet up with other people there. Hehe."
The girl nodds her head and then follows the boy, running down the cliff and farther into the desert.
In the distance, above a nearby pillar is a female with short red hair and green eyes. A long white cape with a symbol similar to a sphere flows behind her. She watches as the boy and young girl run across the desert, nearing the gate to the root town. For those two she knows it will be the first time they activate a gate in almost a year.
There is a grin on her face.
"The infiltration has begun." She whispers. "But this world is ours. . .heh"
Almost a year ago, an incident took place inside "The World". The game was locked down by an unknown force, and a fierce virus began spreading within. However, a wave that shot across the eastern servers of the game sent hundreds of online players into a six hour coma. The occurence was later named the "Locked" Incident. According to forums and rumors, a couple of players were still active during the incident and were lucky enough to discover he truth behind the wave.
However because of the negative impact of the incident the game closed its servers worldwide and all selling of the games ceased immediately. CC-Corp disintigrated soon after. And now, die-hard fans of "The World" have discovered that the servers are still operating secretly. The game itself, even under the control of a small group, is not enough to prevent hackers from finding a way back into the game. And so, during these last few weeks, a virtual key has been created by hackers that will allow players to once again create simple characters and illegaly enter the game. The group overlooking the game has tried to keep it away from the public, but it seems more and more individuals are getting access around the world.
It has become apparent that perhaps, oncemore, "The World" can have a chance to restore itself. . .
CHAPTER ONE: Infiltration

A deserted root town lies before them, all is quiet...
"Well. . .this is it." Laius says looking around the empty alley way, having finally arrived at what used to be one of the most popular root towns of the game. However, the streets seemed deserted and there was no sound at all; the background music which played nonstop in the past was gone. But then something about the place reminded him of all those times. It was like returning home after a long road trip. Despite the absence of everything that made the game playable, he felt as though he was in the middle of it all. He looks up, staring at the multi-colored clouds and the golden rays of dawn that lay still above.
"This is odd. Theres no one here!" Allice cries. She runs towards the end of the alley and glances at the tower in the distance, where the town's fountain resides at the bottom. She sighs in dissapointment and turns around, looking at a puzzled Laius.
"Hey, snap out of it!" She yells. "We should continue down towards the actual town and keep looking for life, instead of wasting time reminicing."
"I hear ya." He replies, coming back to reality. Quickly he reaches Allice and both walk down the streets approaching the center of the root town. Unfortunately, It quickly becomes apparent there is no one anywhere near the area. They stop to rest in the fountain; Allice sitting on top of the concrete looking rather depressed. Laius looks over the distance making sure they havn't missed a spot.
"How am I gonna begin to enjoy this world, if no one is here." She says, crossing her arms in front of her. "I mean, I'm thankful you helped us return but. . ." Suddenly, the sound of distant footsteps reaches their ears. Both of them turn around and notice a young-looking girl dressed in tight gray clothing, and a white cape hanging from her back. She has clear-lime eyes and bright red hair. And judging from her expression, she seems annoyed by their prescence.
"Excuse us, but...Are you the only one else here?" Laius asks. "We just obtained access to the game, and we were wondering where all the other players were."
Allice stands from the concrete and studies the new girl's appearance, more disturbed by her obvious expression than Laius. But the stranger remains silent for a breif moment, perhaps studying them as well.
And then,. . .
"The other ones have learned, that is it not wise for them to remain here. . ." She responds, almost in a monotone voice. "If you wish to stay, you must learn to run. . .and fast too, if you want to survive, that is."
Little particles of light gather around her hand and take the form of a long thin saber. At this point Allice runs behind Laius, quite alarmed and frightened. None of them have any weapons for defence and the atmosphere has just shifted into something much darker.
"L-listen, we're not here to get pk'd. We don't even have weapons. . .so please. . ." He says, trying fast to figure out a way to run. The girl becomes unresponsive, and Allice, not taking the risk, runs off behind Laius and into another alley. Laius turns and quickly follows. The girl has a wide grin, and is now in an offensive position.
"I hope you get used to running away. . .'cuz thats all you'll be doing before you die!" She screams and begins running in persuit.
"Oh my god, Laius! The only other user we find and she turns out being a pk'ing ****! What luck!" Allice cries as she continues down the alley.
"Hey, lets just keep running and hopefully lose her." He replies. "Look, in there!"
Allice finds the spot, an opening into a building and she rushes in with Laius behind her. They lay still for a moment, listening for the pk'er. However after a few seconds they sigh and catch their breath.
"What in the world? She CAN'T be the only one here, can she?" Allice shouts.
"Sssh! Quiet or she'll find us. . ." he warns, suddenly noticing their surrounded by wodden barrels in the dark.
"H-hey. I think we're in some type of shop. Maybe we can find some items. . ." He continues.
"Don't you mean, weapons?" She replies. Laius returns a bothered look.

Meanwhile. . .
On top of a building above Mac Anu stands the mysterious girl with green eyes. She seems to have lost the players, and is waiting for any other signs of motion below. Moments later, a purple sphere gathers behind the girl and takes the form of a human man. He is pale-skinned with dead crazy hair and a pair of purple eyes. He seems emotionless and is covered in a black tight suit with belts around his neck, wrists, and legs.
"You are late." She says.
He remains silent.
"The recent ones have hidden. But they're still in town, I'm certain." She continues. "You should do well to aid me when I actually need your assistance,. . .Knox. For now we wait. If we sense those two again we will find them. . .and take them back to where they belong."
A rush of wind breezes by both of them. There is no conversation afterwards but Knox seems indifferent to the girl's idea of aid. He can't stop but stare at the black tower above the fountain.

Forgive me if it's a bit long, but it is an intro post after all. =P

Re: .Hack//Nativity
Name: Kuran
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Location: Kyoto, Japan
Background: A seemingly loner type character, Kuran seems to show no interest in most topics or conversation unless he notices there is a mention of a certain topic. The reason he joined 'The World' once more was due to a 'Promise' he had made to one person.
Appearance:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
" I Said I'd live out both our lives..." He whispered as he stood at the end of the harbor, staring out towards the setting sun that never seemed to lower. The dusk that never came having been something he despised most of all, the resolution was no longer there. " Easy to make that promise...but keeping it... " He finished as his head lowered down to the water, the fake ripples having only shined the painful gleam of the sun back into his eyes until he felt the need to turn away.
The town had been empty since he arrived, there had been no people there but it didn't concern him. He felt like this was better than how it was before, the bustling crowd of people and the constant chatter that drowned out the peaceful silence of the city. Perhaps it was a ironic representation of the city trying to capture his heart - show him that there was no people within it and there never will be. Kuran seemed embarrassed from the honesty it displayed.
He took slow strides while he walked through the corners of the town, turning every now and then before he saw two players running away from another one. He stopped his walking while he stared, his interest raised but he closed his eyes once more. It was just another PK, such things didn't interest him. So he continued to walk towards the PK'er in hopes she would let him pass without much trouble.

"its time to re-enter the world" Lawliet mumbled to him self as he loaded up "the world" client. He entered the Root town Mac Anu with his PC Albel.
Albel's appearance:
"its been far to long sense I've seen the streets of Mac Anu." He walked around town taking in the scenery. "its far emptier then I remember, i wonder if there's more people in the areas." Albel shrugged " mite as well look for a party." He said heading towards a group of PCs.

Re: .Hack//Nativity
Name: Kurayami
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Location: Shibuya, Japan
Background
Graffiti art, while not considered quaint (and more often than not, a crime), was something that Kurayami did often both in The World and in reality. She left several signature signs in numerous places all throughout the virtual world, and time and time again, the administrators could never catch her (in fact, any that did were decapitated within moments). However, everything at once was snatched away upon erasure of The World itself.
After this event, Kurayami did all she could to figure out whether or not there was a passage back. Frankly, her renowned creations had just disappeared. Erased and sent into oblivion for no reason whatsoever. Rather than the fact that they were gone, it was more the reason behind it that she sought, and thus, returned to The World after hunting down something that allowed her to do so, a 'Key'.

Above the city...
The girl with the green eyes catches a glimpse of a newcomer, a mysterious-looking figure walking towards the building below her and Knox. She continues to stare until the man stops suddenly, looking up towards her. Their eyes meet briefly, but the stranger closes his eyes as if to show no interest.
"Great. Another quiet one." She mutters. Knox glances at her, then.
"I'll be the one to terminate him, Knox. It's just one user, afterall." She says, a long thin saber forming under her grasp once more.
"No..." Knox whispers. "I'll take care of this individual. You've had your share of fun..."
The saber suddenly explodes into several bright pieces, all of which fade before hitting the ground. The girl is furious, but she speaks no further. Instead she watches as Knox walks to the edge of the building and stares down at Kuran. Suddenly, he takes notice of another player near the area, Albel.
"You can have the other one." He says quietly.
Afterwards he jumps down the building and falls on his feet a few inches from Kuran. He lifts his upper body and delivers a cold gaze, showing no other obvious expression or emotion. Loose strands of his unstable hair cover his right eye as she stands erect. He is quiet, and awaits for Kuran to respond; curious, somewhat.

"I've never been here when it was this quiet...empty..."
"It's like I've entered into a horror movie, and I'm in some ghost town." Jarrick said chuckling. "Well, things aren't going to solve themselves, I'd better get moving."
Jarrick quietly started towards the center of town.

Kuran had stopped walking when he saw another figure suddenly come into his line of sight, the glare having been almost challenging at first as they stood at opposite ends. His hand went to the sheath that was along his waist in reply but he did not draw the blade yet. " ....Even I can tell when somebody has no intention of letting me pass. " He whispered and sighed. He didn't want to make his sword stained more than it already was, but it didn't seem like he was given a choice in the matter.
The blade was drawn with light escaping from the sheath as he pulled it out, eventually the long saber had been drawn and then tapped the ground in patience revealing that he had been a Blade Brandier " Let me pass, we can avoid this. " He explained, not interested in this pointless battle between PK'ers or whoever these strangers were.

Knox continued starring at the stranger, seemingly unalarmed about his drawn weapon and stance. But he shut his eyes then, sensing additional players in the area. Besides Kuran and Albel now walked another figure in the distance; approaching the center of the town was Jarrick. Not to mention Laius and Allice were still present somewhere. It was apparent that there would be no point in attacking any of them, given the circumstances. Feeling a sense of dissapointment he opened his eyes and took one last look at Kuran-as if to peer through his "soul" and knowing something interesting lay within.
"Tsh. . ."
Quickly, Knox jumped high above Kuran and joined the girl with the green eyes on top of the building.
"It would seem too many of them have gathered. Lets go, Knox." She ordered, her body glowing a faint blue. Suddenly, she is engulfed by a bright light from head-to-toe and her body takes the form a sphere. The same effect occurs with Knox, but his is a violet sphere. Moments later both of them vanish into the sky.

Coming out of an deserted shop...
"Hey, I hear somthing-" Allice says as they return to the streets.
Laius approches from behind and looks around, noticing a figure in the distance:Jarrick.
"Do you think it's a pk'er?" She asks.
"Only one way to find out..." He replies, starting towards his direction.

Re: .Hack//Nativity
Well-balanced footsteps followed suit of the path beneath them after a pair of players disappeared from the rooftops of Mac Anu. In their stead now stood a raven haired female, chains adding to the sounds of her movements with each step she took. A mistral whipped back her ebony locks, revealing a cyan-coloured marking running from beneath her right eye and down her neck. That same wind rang the melody of bells from her dangling earrings, her mismatched eyes of azure and red looking over at the small plethora of Players that had appeared over quite a short period of time.
Her skinny frame was adorned with a rather short skirt made of shimmering black fabric, like the rest of her outfit. It consisted of a pair of knee-high high-heeled boots covered heavily in thin silver chains. Her torso was covered by a short-cut jacket, the left sleeve cut off, revealing a rather unattractive, completely black tattoo on the avatar's arm which swirled up her arm before ebbing away at her shoulder. Beneath the semi vest-jacket, she wore nothing but what seemed to be a black bikini top, revealing a trio of brightly coloured star markings on her right rib area, her abdomen, other than that, in full view.
On her head was a rather puffy Gatsby hat decorated with more than enough pins which appeared to either have random brand names or expressions on their surfaces. From her left, completely black-coloured wrist dangled several coloured bangles, all of which shimmered in metallic sheens in the incessant twilight of Mac Anu.
Compared to the themes and settings of The World, however, the girl's appearance stood out like a sore thumb. Even more so than the strange black tattoo on her arm, however, was the belt at her waist which held up her skirt. Attached to the belt were countless coloured tin cans, all of which were obviously spray paint cans. Despite this, it was clear that she didn't care about being eccentric or looked down upon. This was how she had looked the last time, and she had seen no reason whatsoever to change that this time around.
Kurayami had returned to The World, spray paint, eccentricities and all. Of course, anyone that lived in her part of the world would find this appearance rather normal...save for the fact that it was being donned in an online game. What interested her, however, was the spectacle she had seen mere moments ago. She had just finished off a nice piece on the rooftop balcony of some poor uninhabited place that still had a good view of the town when she had seen some woman unsheathe her weapon against a pair of Players. This was then a repeated act, done by another avatar that had been approached by another cocky-looking PK, a Blade. It piqued her interest, the fact that people could now wield their weapons in Root towns. Well, they didn't really deserve to be called 'Root towns' any more if they weren't safe zones. Then again, being an illegal game in itself, the people that restored the place probably hadn't been bothered to put silly restrictions such as that back into the game. Hell, some people may just even have more fun that way.
Well, she had been too late in her approach to the cocky man and woman, as they had disappeared upon her attempt to barge in a grab some information. Too bad, she thought to herself, but shrugged it off meekly. Now, it was time to have some fun. Making a mess of the place was awesome, but it wasn't exactly too great when it didn't rack you any socialising factors, what with this place being almost as empty as the can of Pocari Sweat next to her keyboard.
"Otto!"
Kurayami let out a small proclamation as she jumped down from the roof top and landed smack-bang in the place where the PK-man had been in front of the Blade mere moments before. She landed flawlessly, despite the boots she wore, and brushed back her hair before turning to look at the dark-haired Blade wearing the most ridiculous face-piece she'd ever seen. Tapping unconsciously at a can on her belt, she looked the Player Character up and down, but said nothing. Quiet. That was what she gathered from his appearance and recent actions, though she could be wrong, seeing as how gauging a person's personality from several metres away wasn't easy. Still, standing around and staring at the guy wasn't going to get her anywhere.
"Hi there," she spoke up and folded her arms beneath her chest, not moving her ground, but letting her eyes drift down to the weapon the masked Blade was still holding. "Bit of a jack-ass, that guy, wasn't he?" she asked him casually. She had no reason to prepare to wield her own weapon. She knew that this guy wouldn't give her trouble if it meant he could walk away in peace.

Albel was crouching behind the fountain in the alchemy district when he noticed the group of PCs kill another player. " sense when could you PK in mac anu? what should i do? should i run or fight them?." Albel said to himself still watching the PCs "maybe i should sneak away before i get noticed." Albel mumbled slowly backing away.
"This isn't divine judgment, it's the work of some childish killer who's playing at divine retribution, that's all."

Re: .Hack//Nativity
On his way to the center of town, Jarrick was suprised to see what looked like two PC's preparing to fight.
It figures that the PK's manage to find a way back in. He thought with a sigh.
After seemingly avoiding the attention of either player, he slipped by and headed closer to his destination only to find two more players coming towards him.
So much for the town being deserted. Jarrick thought, barely holding back a laugh.
The real question though is whether their friends of one of the two back there and wheither I'm going to have to fight my way out of here. He thought with a grimace.
Taking a closer look at the two he decided that, while it's difficult to tell, they didn't appear to be PK's. They lacked the sinister or aloof look that most PK's get after awhile. Finally, he decided to risk it and talk to them.
"After all, no reward comes without risk." He said softly, quoting his favorite business phrase.
"Hello there, my name is Jarrick, what brings the two of you into the spooky abandoned city?" He said, in his smoothest voice, mirth sparkling in his eyes. He glanced between the boy Laius and the girl Allice.

Allice gazed up at the unusual-looking man in front of her, noticing he wasn't an apparent threat by the sound of his friendly voice. She felt an immediate sense of relief, then shifting her gaze towards Laius who was also evidently relieved.
"We're new here. Well, we just gained access to the game a while ago. . .before being attacked by a Pk." He replied. "'Kinda glad to see some once else around here."
"Unless your another PK, of course." Allice responded afterwards, still shaken up about the ealier attempt to their lives.
Upon their encounter, other similar gatherings were occuring near the area. Laius looked over to the distance watching another two players: Kuran and Kurayami. And somewhere even closer he spotted the wondering player Albel; however still unaware of their actual identities. He began to feel alarmed, once more.
"It seems others are here." He began. "Whether they're Pks or not, I can't say. We should be careful."
Allice noticed the same afterwards, taking a step back and already prepared to flee should another attack occur. Her blond curly hair swayed behind her, while she took strong hold of a simple magical staff and neared it towards her chest, worried.
"We're not gonna go and just introduce ourselves, are we?" She asked.
"I'm not sure." Laius replies. "But we can't just stay by ourselves as well. If they are not Pkers then we can befriend them."
Still reluctant about Laius'es sudden idea, she managed to shake off her emotions and agree.
"I'm soo gonna kill you if they turn out to be PKers, Lay." She said bothered.
"Don't worry, I'm sure they'd kill me first." He replies, with a little laugh afterwards.
"Would you come with us?" He then asked, facing Jarrick.

Inside an old, obscure room with windows covered in grey tape...
"More have arrived, havn't they..." A man whispers.
He is entirely covered by a red cloak in the center of the room. Around him on the floor lay several hundred pieces of white crumbled paper, and mirrors of all shapes and sizes stand erected near the edges of the room. In front of this man are Knox and the girl with green eyes; since entering the room she hasn't looked once at the cloaked figure. Knox is uninterested in her behavior at the moment.
"Correct." Knox replies. "We were out numbered after our initial attempt. Afterwards, we left the area. It is certain that they still reside in the current root town--it's possible they are associated, or connected with 'The Outsiders'."
Meanwhile, the girl is puzzled by the many reflections of her body surrounding the room around them.
The cloaked man lifts his face up, looking at Knox-and for the first time, noticing the girl avoiding him. His face is still covered in a shade of darkness and nothing is visible except for two glowing spheres of gold, his eyes.
"I understand the situation, Knox." He begins, speaking in a low tone-like a whisper. "Unfortunately for us, their numbers are increasing at a frightening rate. Soon, those new comers will join 'The Outsiders' and all of our efforts will continue to become fruitless. We must not let this...this infiltration go on!"
The girl is suddenly shaken up, scared. Knox is unbothered entirely.
"Then we must use the power invested in us, by the forgotten goddess, to stop the constant arrival of additional outsiders." Knox replies.
The girl's eyes become wide then, forgetting about her fear and suddenly becoming overwhelmed with delight.
"I-I agree!" She says, speaking now. "If we use our powers then I'm sure we can get rid of them quickly! Y-you must let us. Please..."
The man moves his face down, looking at the crumbled pieces of paper around him.
"...The Forgotten Goddess...she gave such powers, only as a reminder of whom it came from. To use if for other means would be to take advantage of such privilages...I'm afraid I'm not ready to take such drastic measures..." He replies. There is a hint of sadness in his whispers.
Knox and the girl continue to stand, but the girl is becoming furious, and desprate. Yet she contains her unstable emotions and turns around. She is ready to leave.

He would eventually take advantage of the Internets various resources to emulate other game systems, download music, and various other things that people would consider illegal. Hypocrites, whom will condemn someone for downloading a song while they've got Limewire running in the background, are quite common in America, so he felt no threat in doing all these things, though nothing could fill that void of spare time he'd lost when they took down THE WORLD.
Then... a miracle! Though the rumors would flare about on the internet quite often, any posts pointing to the location of the 'key' would be instantly removed from whatever form of media they were posted upon, be it a blog, a twitter, or even a simple E-mail. Eventually, Mark managed to get there in time to find the information to obtain one of these 'keys' for himself. Excited by the prospect of being able to play, without paying for it as a bonus, the one game that could keep his interest, he quickly dusted off the copy of it he'd kept for such a day and inserted it in the disk drive, installing, updating from the new site, and launching the program using the new key.

Walking to the nearest NPC shop there in the gate area, he noticed that the shops weren't responding. "Hm... looks like it won't be that easy this time around... oh well, item drop rate wasn't too bad before... wonder if it's gotten any worse." Re: .Hack//Nativity (Slots Available!)
Allice moved away from Laius, as he asked Jarrick if he wanted to come along. She was bothered and worried for her newly aquired character, and knew that if one PK existed then there must be more as well. After the first meeting with the girl with green eyes she couldn't shake the feeling that anyone else they met would stab them on their back as soon as they turned around. The World wasn't a safe place anymore, not that it was alot safer in the past, but now there were no rules or regulations. Any balance that existed in the old world had crumbled now.
It was as she walked to the side of a building when she first saw another unidentified user. He was a tall fully armored figure with dark short hair and pale skin, not to mention he held a large shiny blade that could be seen reflecting the twilight above from miles. She stared at him wondering the same thing Laius wondered about the other users. Was he an enemy, or a friend, she thought.
"I wish I could tell..." She muttered.

He was a tall fully armored figure with dark short hair and pale skin, not to mention he held a large shiny blade that could be seen reflecting the twilight above from miles. She stared at him wondering the same thing Laius wondered about the other users. Was he an enemy, or a friend, she thought.
