I have, and consider it my 2nd most favorite anime (well, 1st as in anime series, since my favorite overall is Akira). It takes quite a lot to be able to have epic over-the-top action scenes, fanservice for both sides, huge mechas and monsters killing each other, together with an actual interesting and thoughtful story, without failing. Gurren Lagann not only suceeded in that, but completely surpassed it and got to a level that not even power levels over 9000 could reach.

...And it's Kamina, and you should be shot and impaled with galaxies for mispelling the most epic name that belongs to the most epic character that has ever existed >->

I usually don't like playing into hype over anything, but Gurren Lagann is one of the few series out there that actually lives up to it.
So yes, it is highly recommended to those who have yet to see it.

Well, I'm up to episode 10, and the anime lives up to what you all have said. Brilliant action, with a dash of humor, and a great story to go along with it. Although, I dislike the idea that it is a mech-type anime, since it's not one of my favorite categories, but regaurdless it's to my liking. Not to mention, Yoko's quite a looker. :)

Wait until you're at the very last episodes....you'll never think of mecha-type animes the same way ever again.

no other anime has a mech more powerful then Tenge Tuppa Gurren Lagann. One reason is, that its 100 times the size of the milky way galaxie. Two it can survive a attack equal to the Big BAng and three, Viral's piloting it :3

VIRAL FTW!

Don't worry, there's a huge gap between Bleach and Gurren Lagann. I've already said how something like Akira is awesome and truly epic enough to surpass it, and right below Gurren Lagann, for me, there's just enough space for stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Elfen Lied, and Saikano.

Gurren Lagann is nothing like Bleach.
Bleach runs on forever. Gurren Lagann gracefully ends after 27 episodes.

Trust me, it's good. Just give it a shot.

Bleach/Gurren Lagann... Action/Comedy is the only similarities... First off Gurren Lagann is a SUPER ROBOT anime... therefore in it's own unique genre.

And I'm sorry but I've gotta do it... "Your drill is a drill that shall PIERCE the Heavens!

So I'm on episode 4 and it's pretty cool.
I really don't like Simon. He needs to grow a pair, although Kamina is one of the best characters in anime ever.

He later does. Not even close to Kamina but still.

People need to give Kittan more credit. I'm not going to spoil why, but the dude is pretty epic.

Actually, i agree. He did so much and was so epic that he deserved more attention and all. And such attention was mostly given to Viral D:

Viral was comedic relief for me and not much more. But I'm a Kittan cosplayer myself. I find he had such an awesome impact on the series. Chojinga wouldn't have been possible without him

Viral wasn't comic relief, but he became too "high" without doing much except being constantly pwned by Gurren Lagann. And actually, without Kittan, everyone would've been eventually killed or sent back underground xD Simon was the one who kept the Dai Gurren Lagann "alive", but Kittan was the one who pushed and kept pushing him until Simon grew his respective pair.

Well, I believe that Simon becomes way much cooler than kamina in the final episodes, not only because of his new style but also thanks to its glasses(kidding). Now, concerning the series itself, tengen toppa gurren lagann is the best anime made. EVER(just take a look at my avatar and signature). It is just much more than epic and everyone should watch it.
