Full metal alchemist 2 confirmed

New Fullmetal Alchemist TV Anime Series Confirmed

The wraparound jacket band on the 20th volume of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga will confirm on Friday that a new television anime series is in the works. A new anime series was a topic of much fan discussion for several months, but it was thrust into a more public spotlight last month when a management document was purportedly leaked from the BONES anime studio. The document listed Fullmetal Alchemist animator Yasuhiro Irie as "Hagane 2 kantoku" (Iron/Fullmetal 2 director).

After the purported leak, BONES President Masahiko Minami posted an official statement that said that no file with this same formatted information existed within the company. When asked about the possibility of a sequel to Fullmetal Alchemist or Darker than BLACK (another BONES anime), Minami told ANN, "It hasn't been decided yet. We are interested in doing them. As original science-fiction works, they were extremely fascinating. With these kinds of dramatic story lines, I feel that there's a lot we could do potentially."

Viz Media will publish the 17th volume of the manga version in North America this October, while FUNimation Entertainment released both the first television series and its theatrical movie finale.

Oh wow...I never thought this would happen. I've been wishing since forever that the would make more FMA...
I'm really surprised that something like this would show up.They could make alot of money off of all The FMAtards that want to see a squeal. If I was Viz Media I would be cashing this in for alot of money. Every FMA fan will probaly go crazy over this. Well...I know I am right now..

Is anyone really surprised at this? The series prints money. What did you expect? That they'd let a series end with dignity and not drag it out until the cash cow runs dry?

Yeah seeing as how we weren't introduced to some of the Manga's more or less important characters I'm sure they'll probably pick up where they left off and go on the same direction the Manga's going in.

The ending of the anime makes that totally impossible without some severe ****.

I'm just wondering how they are going to pull it off; I'd be happy if they followed the manga's storyline, but seeing how the anime went, it's impossible. They should make OVA's, like TRC did when the anime screwed up its storyline.

Well, someone beat me to making the topic. I have the site that tells what it is going to be about.

My Source is:

http://haruji.wordpress.com/2008/08/23/ ... chemist-2/

This series is mainly a remake. it's gonna follow the manga rather than continue the story. So, for those of you who were hoping that the series was gonna continue from the movie, you best not get your hopes up. This website also has the project release date aimed at early 2009.

But, sorry to say, this series is following the manga, it is not a continuation. Anyway, glad to hear it is finally getting released, I believed I stated a while back here on the site, that it is possible that they could make a new series.

But, it should be interesting to see this remake.

Other sources include:

http://www.crunchyroll.com (which have just released the what's to come trailer, and shows several trailers of upcoming animes, and the trailer for the new FMA series is included.

wiki, also has some stuff on it as well. Although, I haven't extensively searched, so as to how much they have, I do not know.

The official FMA website has some info, though for being an FMA site, it really doesn't have that much.

Hope this helps out.

Here is a quote from Hakuji:

"It is official! The second TV series for Full Metal Alchemist will be released. There is not much information available now, except that it will be aired around roughly April 2009, and is scheduled to air for a year (52 episodes again?). For those who is wondering how they’re going to continue the story due to the events of the movie, sources say that this TV Series Season 2 will be a faithful adaption from the manga series. For those that do not know, the Full Metal Alchemist anime story is not exactly the same with the manga counterpart (roughly around midway through the series it branches out if I’m not mistaken). Therefore I guess this new season will not be a continuation from the movie, but instead a re-telling of the story from the manga point of view. I might be mistaken however. More information should pour out in the months to come until the release month of April. That is 8 months from now!"
