Persona Trinity Soul

Post by mr.classybear »

If your going to write about spoilers, put them in red or something.

Is anybody else watching this? The first ten episodes were pretty boring, but since then its gotten really good. The last episode subbed was 23, has anyone seen the ending to that episode? At first I dident understand, but as soon as I did I was pretty shocked and sad.

Last episode is going to be shwon next week!

Next week? I don't think so.

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of pretty much Megaten, and I've been with this series since the beginning. It's pushed me to tears SO many times.

Jun is so goddamned TRAP.

You might be right. My time schedule is a bit knocked up, so I thought we had an extra week.

It kinda reminds me of .hack//Roots. An anime series made to emulate their respective game series' storylines, with the gameplay removed, obviously. :P

Persona 3's popularity was at least 50% due to its wonderful battle system and enjoyable Social Links system, so once you remove those two fundamental elements, you get Trinity Soul. It's no wonder a lot of people get turned off watching this series... and pretty much all but one subbing group is keeping up with the newer episodes.

I'm enjoying Trinity Soul a lot though. That returning character was cool tho, and I appreciated that they didn't suddenly take over the spotlight unlike a certain returning character in another overrated anime series *coughKirainGSDcough*.

Persona 3's popularity was mainly from it's "controversial" presentation (teenagers shooting themselves in the head) and Social Link system (the Japanese love dating sims). In terms of battle system, it doesn't rank up to Digital Devil Saga/Avatar Turner or Nocturne.

Anyway, speaking of teenagers shooting themselves, I've seen like the first few episodes of Trinity Soul and noticed that character can summon persona without evokers? I'm assuming they are using drugs like the Strega or something alone those lines?

Neither of those series are about emulating the plots of their game series, idiot.

Well, the Evoker thing as a P3 thing only. Neither Persona 1 or Persona 2 had Evokers. They're kind've a placebo anyway, as the only reason they exist is to instill the fear of dying in a subject so they can summon the Persona, so one could learn to release it without the use of an Evoker. Some characters in Trinity Soul use drugs, but not for the purpose of using the drugs; it's to keep themselves alive because their Personas are artificial, or in Ryou's case, to get past the age limit for summoning one (past your early twenties).

Yeah, I was aware that Evokers were an exclusive element to P3. I was just under the impression that since Trinity Soul is, in some cases, another sequel to Persona 3 (I consider Episode Aegis in FES a sequel aswell), I figured the same rules for Persona summoning applied. I'll just have to stop being lazy and watch the damn thing.

they probaly jusst change the way to summon Persona's in the games to keep things interesting. In Persona 4 ( 2 years after P3), they have to crush cards to summon persona. I think Takaya was the only P3 character that dident need to use an evoker.

Oh, and did anyoen see the new Persona 4 scan? It shows 2 new S.Links ( fox and nurse), and the main characters visiting Gekkoukan High.

Well, P3 is a sequel to P2, the logic doesn't really follow.

The rules for P3 were only different because of the reality distortions caused by the Dark Hour, really.

And I was thinking of asking you guys if you had seen the last episodes >__>;;

It usually happens with fansubs, if it isn't some popular show like bleach, naruto or something like that, it doesn't get subbed right in the moment, while with their other projects they leave them for later :\

To be fair, Most fansub groups have Japanese citizens, usually students, as some of their core members, and testing period has pretty much juuuust ended. I also heard that Ainex, the main fansubbing group for Trinity Soul, is in need of a typesetter.

I then found out pretty much all of the groups besides Ainix stopped subbing early on or are way behind, because apparently a lot of people don't like the show at all.
Shame, I kinda liked it. I mean, it could have been better, but it wasn't bad.
I hope they get what they need to be able to finish subbing the last two episodes soon.
25 has just been subbed, so yea, they're planning to finish it. And it's a wonderful show, it's just that people expect it to compare to Persona 3, and it's not meant to.

After episode 25, it seems that there is too much to fit into 26.

Nerr... I'm on a posting roll today after a semi-long absence.

Is the anime good? D: I've only seen one episode so far and it's kind of iffy for me. I hope it's good though since right now I'm borrowing P3 from my friend and I'm obsessing over it like crazy. @__@ Also, does the anime have any spoilers for P3 because I haven't beaten it yet! Dx (Aside from the fact that apparently there's a cameo. . .) Sorry this is just questions. .__.;

I really like it. After reading this topic, I started watching it and now I just finished episode 21. If you're into action, there isn't tons of it, but the action sequences it does have are cool, and I like the story.
