Re: fullmetal alchemist or bleach
FMA.
It has better non-repeating storyline stuff, and better character developement as compared to * Main dude gets his butt wouped, gets power levelin, then kills everyone in the room, wash, rinse, repeat.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the manga, right? The series have nothing in common, but the manga, like most shounen series, go on forever with no end in sight.

Hmm... for the anime I'd have to say Fullmetal Alchemist. There's actually more of a storyline as compared to Bleach, which has much mindless fighting over and over. I actually stayed and watched all of FMA when it aired... but Bleach I got tired of. Eh...
I've only read one volume (or was it two?) of the FMA manga... so I can't really say which is better.

Not for a good while yet, even dispite whats currently happening.
Thats my guess anyway.
As for which is better-i'm gonna go with bleach.
The main reason why people are saying that FMA is better s because they watched the 51 episode anime and saw that it ends. bleach has intruiging plot twist's, along with perhaps the biggest plot twist in the last few years, awesome fight scene's and alot of things which are left un-answered at this time.
FMA anime-you can read everything that happened in it on wikipedia. manga wise, it's still going and it keeps you guessing, so in that department it's even.

Re: fullmetal alchemist or bleach
I didn't watch the anime for both series..only the manga.. I prefer FMA because the plot is better and deeper i guess.. Bleach is a basic formula; fight, lost, train, fight, win XD but I still read both.. ^_^;
Re: fullmetal alchemist or bleach
FMA,purely because the anime its not as repetitive as Bleach and the whole Homonculus thing is pretty damn cool IMO.

Re: fullmetal alchemist or bleach
Full Metal Alchemist.
It's more fast paced than Bleach (GUH I gave up on Bleach after the 100 episodes Rukia was imprisoned)
And the characters are way better. And there's actually a plot. (What is the plot to Bleach??)

What kind of question is that? FMA changed the view on shounen series, unlike Bleach.

To be honest, i think it's a very stupid question, Regardless of fan-base.
let's examine the statistics here:
FMA-51 episode's, 1 movie, anime which is finished, manga which continues monthly.
Bleach-150+episode's, 1 ova, 1 movie(Which, admitidly i thought sucked but thats a different conversation), anime which isn't finished and manga which continues weekly.
Aside from the fact that they can both be classed as a shonen anime series, there realy is very little to tie these two together in this format. If the question was bleach or one piece, or bleach or naruto(which there is already a thread to) then it would be even grounds. FMA vs ______ would be on even playing grounds if they were similar enough to be compared to one another.
However, with the question being "bleach or FMA", it's like comparing avacado's and pizza. it's just stupid to do it.
Sure enough, FMA changed the face of shonen stuff but bleach can easily withstand the test of time, where-as FMA will die down quite considerably in about a year or two when everyone realise's that the manga is all thats left-wait thats already the case.

Bleach in my opinion pwns FMA mainly cause I don't like FMA as much as Bleach. Ichigo is my favorite bleach person of all.
