Battle Royale anyone?

has anyone seen this movie? i am surprised that there isnt any threads about it...

i know that it technically isnt an anime, but it was made into a mange version so i guess it fits into this forum.
i came across this movie about 7 years ago, and it is one of my favorites.
itz about a group of 9th grade kids that are taken to an island where they are provided weapons and forced to kill eachother untill one is left. the island is divided into different areas, as shown on a map provided as well. each kid has a collar around their necks that had a bomb in it. if you try to take it off.....BOOOMB! every six hours, several areas on the island are turned into "danger zones", if you step into a danger zone, BOOOMB!
i wont spoill any of the actual story, but i will say that it is a great one that is not to be missed. the movie is bloody, i case you were wondering. there is a book called battle royale (not manga) that is the first to be released. (so in order; book, movie, manga) the book is considerably different than the movie in some key places, but both are still amazing. the book is 614 pages long, which seems like alot, but is just right as almost every character (42 to be exact) has a chapter almost fully dedicated to each of them. the movie will be released in the US, but i dont know when. you can find the movie on e-bay or anyother online movie store. you can find the book at barns n noble or other big book stores. the manga is also available.
there is a sequal called "Battle Royale II" also, which is more about war than survival.

... i can talk about it forever so... has anyone else seen/read it?

true movie was better (although i like the book the best...), but i like the part when  when kitano get the sh*t shot out of him at the end, but when his cell phone rings, he gets up, answers it, eats a cookie then dies that was one of my favorite parts. also,  when oda gets the hatchet stuck in his head and shuya asks "are you ok?" and oda responds "im ok, im ok" then he dies.

love the first film, but the second seemed to drag on for too long and seemed far less special :/
read some of the manga, but barely much

and i dont think putting this in the anime forums because these films have a manga equivilent makes too much sense : x

i know some people that don't like the movie just for the reason that it is violent(and that it has kids killing eachother). i try to tell them about what the story really is about, but they don't listen.

it is going to be remade, but i believe its just going to have english voice overs.

about BRII...
 i thought it was hella funny when shuya says in the first movie that he wouldn't kill anyone, in the second movie he kills hella people.
