Help with the Arena!

I've been playing alot and I've reached the part where I fight Antares. I can't seem to damage him. WTF?

Level up more, that's the first thing you should be doing.

Dammit, that keeps me from getting Xth form. Does he have the equips that you gave him?

I don't think he should, but then again, I pretty much gave him no armor. @_@
Maybe, keep leveling up? or a diffrent main weapon?

level up, get better wepons/armor/accessory, leveling up lost weapons helps, and if all else fails, beast awakening can pretty much kill anything.
