i can remember these good series ,and i have a questions why were the autobots in the prehistoric age?

Thats because in the original 1984 show the Autobots ship, The Ark, crashed on earth 4 million years in the past. Which was long before even the BW characters got there. As you already know they crashed into a volcano. The reason for the crash was because Megatron and his Decepticons were chasing the Autobots and boarded the Ark and during the fight the ship went off course and crashed on earth, knocking all the transformers into stasis. That why there were both Autobots and Decepticons on the ship. In 1984 the Volcano started quaking, probably as a sign that it might errupt, and those vibrations activated Teletran 1(The ships Super Computer). Which sent out probes to scan local vehicles for the process of reactivating the Transformers onboard. Unfortunatly one of the Decepticons was first to get revived and he then pulled his comrads into the repair area to be revived. Then they left and figured the Autobots wouldn't get revived, that is tell Starscream decided to shoot the ship a few times to say goodbye, which then knocked Optimus Prime into the repair area and he was revived and so on.

Ok maybe I went a little overboard in my explanation.

Just thought I'd also point out that the Autobots didn't have Transwarp Drive on the Ark. So its not like they went back in time and ended up there. They actually left Cybertron 4 Million years ago and were in statis after the crash through all of that time. Remember Transformers don't age. As long as they keep their bodies in good condition and repair they could live forever.

It wasn't tell after they woke up that Megatron found out about the early experiments in Transwarp and left that message on the Golden Disk that was on the Voyager Probe. Even though they never show Megs doing that in the cartoon there was a point in the middle of season 2 where Megs tried to leave earth with a ship full of energon, but the Autobots blew it up in space with him still on it, but he survived and disapeared for a while. So he could have caught up with Voyager and left the message and then returned to earth in time for the next episode. In fact they even said that Megatron had been missing for a couple of weeks to a month before he returned.

I could be wrong about this, but silabus could have been refering to why was beast wars set in pre-historic times.

Beast wars megatron and classic megatron are two different people(Transformers). The BW one stole a disk in the future containing the recorded message which was on the voyager disc and also stole a new transwarp ship and jumped back in time in order to destroy optimus prime and obtain future victory for the decpticon's of the G1(classic) era.

However, when BW megatron opened up the portal to the past it stayed open long enough for optimus primals ship(Which I forgot the name of) to slip through, but only that ship because it was the only one close enough. Then they fought each other in the beast wars which was set after the Transformers crash landed their ship, with the battling decepticons and autobots being almost permanantly knocked into stasis lock.

Beast machines(sucked) wasn't set in pre-historic earth. It was on cybertron and in the future(and sucked).

Heh, funny thing was when dinobot was acredited with teaching the first humans how to create and use axe's/hammers.

Indeed all the Beast Wars characters are different from the G1 characters that might have the same name. Like Optimus Primal is not Optimus Prime. BW Megatron is not G1 Megatron. BW Silverbolt is not G1 Silverbolt. BW Scorpanok is not G1 Scorponok.

But the fact that they did try to tie-in G1 with BW and BM. Like in the first episode of BW the Maximals mension that it has been 300 years since to end of the great war between the Autobots and Decepticons. And I'm sure some of the inspuration for BM came from a G1 season 3 episode called Dweller in the Depts. In which the Quintessons trick Galvatron into thinking there was a Decepticon Matrix of Leadership hidden Deep within Cybertron. But in truth what the Quints wanted was the Decepticons to release their early experiments in cybernetics that used animals, many of which looked like animals from earth, that were in stasis pods. One in particular was simply called the Dweller, which was meant to be a living generator, but instead turned into an energy leach and if it grabbed a transformer it would turn it into a zombie that would collect energy for the monster. As the Decepticons traveled deeper into the planet they went from the metal that they are used to seeing and then find rock tunnels. This showed that the planet wasn't all metal and mechanical and the cyborg animals did suggest that the planet was much like earth before the Quintessons terraformed it into a factory planet for making robots they would sell.

And I really liked Beast Machines. They explored things about Cybertron and the Transformers that not many people may not of thought about before.

The Quintessons were first introduced in TF The Movie as the Multi-faced beings that ran mock trials on beings that they catch in space. No matter the judgment, guilty or Inocent they always feed the victim to the Sharkticons.

In G1 season 3 it was revealed that the Quintessons made the first robots on Cybertron to sell to variouse customers throughout the universe. They had 2 different types of robots, Domestic Robots(Autobots) and War Robots(Decepticons) and distinguished them by Branding them with specific symbols. These symbols would latter be used by the robots to tell which side they were on in the war.

Somewhere along the way the robots the Quintessons made became alive and rebelled against them and eventually drove them off Cybertron. But these robots wouldn't be known as Transformers untill much latter when they develop the ability to Transform.

I just thought I'd post my own take of Transformers History and the timeline of the show from G1 to Beast Wars and Beast Machines. This does not include any of the comics or even the japanese original shows like Headmasters, Masterforce, or Victory, since they have very different storylines that don't match with the orignal english version of the show. This also doesn't involve the new Transformers Movie. This is strickly my own view on things and not to be taken as official info.

One thing that came up a lot in Beast Wars and Beast Machines was the Allspark, or Matrix as they sometimes call it. This is a being that seems to exist outside of normal space and time, maybe in a paralel dimention. There's no way to be sure. Anyways this being is able to split a part of itself off and use it to bring life to machines, basically the sparks. These sparks return the the Allspark when that robot dies.

Cybertron was once like earth. In fact I think it was a Vok experiment just like Earth was. Except that Cybertron had stable energon and didn't have the early warning systems that Earth had. Most likely it was the Voks first attempt at their experiment. Unfortunatly because of this the planets energy resources made it irresistable to the Quintessons.

The Quintessons burned the plant life and captured many of the animals for experimentation. The rest died while fleeing the fires and died in places they took cover in like caves. Then the Quintessons started tapping the Energon and terraformed the planet to be more like their home world of Quintessa covered in metal and machines.

When their experiments with the animals failed to yeild anything that would be worth selling. So they shifted their work towards robots. They made domestic robots for use in regular work like construction, office work and housework. In fact I think that female robots were made to apeal to many of their customers as house maids and secretaries since they figured the female form would make them more attractive. These domestic robots would be branded with a red symbol. The other line of robots where war robots, heavily armored with built in weapons and programed for combat only. They would have a purple mark.

The Quintessons factories were all run by a central super computer called Vector Sigma. It not only controled their construction but also programed every robot itself. I think the Allspark found a way to connect with Vector Sigma and used to as a way of instill its sparks into the robots and bring them to life. The Allspark saw how cruel the Quinessons were to the original life that was on the planet and how cruel they were to their own robots by making them fight in gladiatral combat. So by giving life to their robots the Allspark hoped that the robots would rebel against the Quintessons, and that they did. Once the robots realised that they were nothing more than slaves they faught back, both domestic and war robot alike worked together and drove the quintessons off the planet.

For a time there was peace. But after some time the differences in the robots design and desires drove the robots into 2 factions, the domestic robots calling themself Autobots and the war robots calling themselfs Decepticons. There were some robots that didn't take sides and remained neutral. Tensions between the two sides erupted into the first great war.

At first the Decepticons had the upper hand because of their war ready bodies they dominated the battlefeild. That is tell one Autobot warrior known as Primus was critically injured in battle and was on the virge of death and his park started to return to the Allspark, but he was saved at the last moment. Somehow his spark still retained a connection to the Allspark. The Allspark used that connection to teach Primus many things. The first was how to transform. Using the same kind of mental disaplin that Optimus Primal used in Beast Machines Primus transformed into a vehicle of some kind. He then began to teach the other Autobots how to transform. He also started having visions of the future. Now the Autobots took the upper hand and using their new transforming abilities and Primus predicting when and were to attack they would hide and ambush the Decepticons. I beleive that his is how the Autobots won the first war.

In the time of peace that came after Primus became known as a prophet and started his own religion and wrote the sacred data tracks. Many of them seemed to be prophesies of the future. During that time the Autobot scientists found a way to modify robot bodies to allow them to transform using a built in computer instead of training their minds to do it. Now they were able to transform with just a thought or voice command. The Decepticons copied this technology, but for the time being they lacked a leader.

During the peace Primus focused on building devices that had connections to the Allspark. They were the Matrix of Leadership and the Orical Computer. The oricle was hidden deep within Cybertron. The Matrix of Leadership was to be presented to the Autobots leader.

During this time the Decepticons made their new leader. They hired a group of neutral robots known as the Constructicons to build the most powerfull body they could and incorporate the new flight technology they developed into it. When it was completed they took the body to Vector Sigma and commanded that it make this body a worthy leader of the Decepticons and it did. This leader would be known as Megatron.

On the day of the cerimony to give the Matrix of Leadership to the Autobot leader Primus was assassinated by a Decepticon. His last words where his final prophecy: "One day an Autobot will rise through our ranks and use the power of the matrix to light our darkest hour. Till all are one...." and then he died. Some say that Primus knew he was going to die, but knew he had to go through with it in order for the uptopian future he saw in his visions to come true. He could have chosen to save himself, but chose not to. Ever since then the Autobot leader that carried The Matrix of Leadership added the word Prime to their name in honor of Primus's sacrifice.

Sometime after that the Autobot leader was killed by Megatron and the Matrix of Leadership was left in the care of Alpha Trion tell a new leader was found. Alpha Trion was a doctor and was treating wounded when a group of Autobots he had never seen before, they were the Aerialbots that had been sent back in time, brought him an injured Autobot boy named Orion Pax, who was hurt because Megatron tricked him. These Autobots asked him to repair Orion Pax and the Matrix showed Alpha Trion that Orion had a strong spark worthy of being leader. So he agreed to treat Orion Pax and begame to repair him. But he was too badly damaged and Alpha Trion had no choice but to completely rebuild Orion Pax and upgraded him to be a warrior that could go toe to toe with Megatron. Alpha Trion renamed Orion Pax as Optimus Prime and gave him the Matrix of Leadership. Alpha Trion also rebuilt Orions girlfriend Ariel and renamed her Elita-1 and his best friend Dion who might have become Ultra Magnus.

Optimus Prime lead the Autobots since then. But when Cybertrons energy resources were getting near depletion the Autobots and Decepticons had no choice but to leave the planet in order to find new sources of energy. It was then that the space battle aboard the Ark that caused them to crash on earth and be put into stasis lock for 4 million years. During that time the Beast Wars took place and latter when the transformers sleeping in the ark awoke in 1984 and the G1 series took place. Some time after G1 ended peace was made and it lasted for 300 years or so.

The way I think BW Megatron took over Cybertron in Beast Machines is that the Maximal chained him to the outside of their ship as they traveled through Transwarp back to their own time and to Cybertron. But somewhere along the way Megatron broke free of the ship and fell out of Transwarp at an earlier date in time. I think part of the reason why he needed the energy from prehistoric earth was because if his first plan of killing Optimus Prime failed then he had a back up in place. He already had the Vehicons hidden on Cybertron, but he needed energon to power them. Since he had years tell Optimus Primal and his Maximals would return he found the energy he needed elsewhere and took over Cybertron with his Vehicons and removing the sparks from all the transformers on the planet as well as using the virus that locked them in their alt mode.

Well thats my view on things. Like I said in the beginning that this shouldn't be considered official info.
