Oh, sorry, I haven't read that thread since January, so my memory of it is blurry. Anyway, I'm still not spoiling it, since it's one of the few nice twists I'd like to reserve for people.

 Really. I thought it was a let down. The ending of IMOQ was much better.

Scroll down to the part were it talsk about the .hack//GU games, it has everything from volume 1 to 3, i think volume 3 is in the last paragraph.

Here is what hte last paragraph says. It has spoilers for almsot everything in Volume 3.


 During this time, "G.U." is taken over by Sakaki, entrusted with the position by the CyberConnect Corporation due to his ability to control the AIDA. Haseo participates in Sakaki's PK tournament to defeat him once and for all. He then tracks down Ovan, and is finally able to defeat him. Ovan reveals that the reason he needed Haseo to defeat him was so that he could unleash his Avatar Corbenik's true power, "Rebirth", so as to cause the entire Internet to reset. This results in the destruction of all AIDA, curing himself and his sister Ina, which seems to have been Ovan's original goal. However, this unleashes another threat, Cubia, into not only the The World, but the entire Internet. Haseo and the other Epitaph Users are able to defeat Cubia, with help from Ovan, who apparently sacrifices himself to stop the monster.

Just to clarify, the ending I posted was something I made up in about 30 seconds, and wasn't anywhere near the real ending. The real ending is THIS:

 Basically, Haseo beats the crap out of Cubia's core, and Aura comes back to life. Ovan dies. He comes back in Returner. AIDA turns good. (Although if you watch LuPerry's subbing, it doesn't mention this at all. What an idiot -_-) gg.

Well, in truth:
 It was never bad in the first place. AIDA<Tri-Edge> was the only true malevolent AIDA; the rest were just operating on a hive-mind system and followed Tri-Edge's example when it attacked Ovan and Ina.

basically, Ovan is finnally killed by haseo, who had finnally collected all the phases' data,Ovan's death triggers
Corbenik's Rebirth, resetting the entire Net thereby destroying AIDA (or, at least the original evil: AIDA TRI-EDGE).
Because of this, Haseo's character and mind are damaged from being at Rebirth's ground Zero. He's repaired and awakes with Xth-Form.
The Xth-Form is pretty much acknowledged as the Key of the Twilight, causing Cubia (made to defend the key from human use) to
surface and go on a rampage. Haseo and Co. go into it after an avatar battle with it's outer shell (the only time you'll get to use Xth-Skeith)
inside the group fights sets of dopplegangers(not as hard as the normal one) and then fight Cubia's core itself. Destroying it (again), bringing peace to the net.
If you go to the Forest of Pain and finish it, you'll see a special 'true' ending with Harold and Ovan (haven't played so no clue what happens here), then in ReturnerOVA, Ovan comes back and everything thus far is settled.
