What the...(Sonic for the 360)

I've played Sonic since I can remember. I've played every single game and beat the snot out of it. Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis to Sonic Heroes for the Xbox.

Almost all of those games I liked or at least had fun with.

But WHAT THE HELL is with Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360? It's the only one I've had NO fun in playing and actually have found the second boss (Silver) to be IMPOSSIBLE to defeat.

It's not that I'm angry that there are no new mechanics or the graphics are bad or the load times etc...but the gameplay is just unfair. The camera is awful. The first try on Egg-Cerberus I actually did a grind up his back and flew off of him into the background of the stage, where I fell through the world before restarting.

And the thing on the first level where you have to 'speed up.' What's with that? That's WAY too hard for the beginning of the game. And at seemingly random places you have to either be standing on the ground or floating in the air after a jump to do a ring dash, or how you can't jump when doing a spin dash or sliding attack.

This is the very first time I've actually found a Sonic game to be BAD. The game would've been better if you just used the Sonic Adventure 2 engine/camera and gave it better graphics.

This is pathetic. I can't believe I'm actually going to have to return a Sonic game. I never feel like QQing to a game developer (besides Blizzard)...but I felt compelled to say something about this.

Dear God, PLEASE at LEAST come out with some patches for Xbox Live. This is disgusting.

I liked SA2 :3. A lot.

Anyways, yeah, try playing Sonic and the Secret Rings. I swear to god, it is worse than that. It's not that it's hard, it is just the most BORING game I've ever played. The controls stink to. I haven't tried that game though, and from your review, I guess I wont be any time soon.

Nest Sonic game to play: Mario and Sonic at the Olympics-or, maybe even Brawl .

only played up to the mega drive (genisis) games i think lol
but after years i played and completed sonic adventure on a dreamcast that reset WAY too easily from vibrations >_<
that was absolutely awesome
then played and completed adventure 2 battle for the gc, which was pretty awesome too

oh wait, i have completed sonic rush too and played some other gba games

so apart from those, i have no idea where the games have gone lately :/

I remember how pissed I was in the first stage, going through a loop, basically a set path only to slide on the water and somehow sink right before getting to land. Tails became slow as hell somehow, knuckles and rouge have some serious trouble when gliding. The speed portions are pointlessly difficult. I hate Silver, both fighting and playing as him, I spent 5 minutes in the desert stage trying to place some object into some holes to open the door to the next stage. The only character in this game that actually controls well is Blaze and she isn't even one of the "main" characters. All in all this game was a piece of trash that I wasted money on, can't even bother returning since I won't get much money back anyway.

The new Sonic games make me cry so much on how bad they have gotten, I love that blue hedgehog who has been my hero since I was 3 with his comics, shows, and games. I was expecting a lot from this sonic game since they said they were going back to there roots but sadly they didn't do the best job of working on the game. I guess here is hopeing on the new installment if there will be one. I think I heard that this was there last attempt on getting sonic back main stream.

I like Sonic. I like Shadow. I like Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Eggman, etc. I just hope that sega can get on the ball and start putting out DECENT sonic games. 3D anyways.

Take SA2. Give a little more function and possibilities for what you can do. Improve the controlls, get a new camera, vamp up the chao system, make the levels a little more interesting, while not interrupting the speed. Don't make it freaking impossible, and make the boss fights not just jumping and hitting A. There we go. A decent sonic game : O.

Not that SA2 was decent for its time, but it would not be acceptable anymore .

The best character to play as in in this particular one, I think, would be Silver. ^^ It seems to be more suited for his type of gameplay - It's more about exploring and puzzle-solving, and less fast-paced. (And Psychic powers~ >:3)
As irritating as it was at moments, I found it pretty enjoyable. ^_^ It just takes some getting used to, especially if you've just been playing Sonic Adventure 2 moments before. XD;

Oh, and beating Silver is hard at first, but after you figure out his pattern, it's quite easy.
You just have to keep running and avoid anything he sends flying at you, and keep away from him, or else he'll freeze you in place, then throw you at the wall, or worse, in the air (Then you'll land next to him and he'll throw you again before you get the chance to collect your rings).
Wait until he pauses momentarily after attacking (to recharge his psychic energy and what not). In other words, wait for him to shout "Take this!" (or if you want to be safe, when he says "Is that it?" or something along those lines. I don't remember. XD) and do a homing attack, then get away from him as quickly as you can. XD Just keep repeating that- it's quite easy when you get used to it. :3

And believe me it's FAR more fun in Silver's story- when you're the one throwing chairs at Sonic~ XDD

The 360 Sonic sucked so hard I played the first level and stopped. Whoever designed that game should be killed. IMO the last good 3D sonic game in recent memory was the original Adventure for the Dreamcast. That was the last one I really had fun with. Adventure 2 was decent, but putting Tails into a robot killed it for me (i dont understand why they did that. Or even the logical fallacies that accompany it. Why doesnt Tails jump out of his robot when he falls off a cliff and fly to safety? Come on.) That and the damned treasure hunting levels. The only good levels in Adventure 2, were Sonics and Shadows.

Ultimately, I dont think we'll have another good 3D sonic game until they stop calling Dr. Robotnik, "Eggman" *shudders*

Why, why would you destroy the good name of a bad guy? He's Robotnik! I can understand Sonic and Tails calling him that to make fun of and taunt him, but when he calls himself Eggman... Thats when it becomes just plain wrong.

At first, YES, he did.

SA was nice, SA2 shined and polished the first. Then everything else was the same. Then Shadow the Hedgehog (game) added every cliche' for a game I could think of. Then more of the same, minus Sonic and the Secret Suck. I really, REALLY love the Sonic franchise, but recently, it has been mistreated. The games are just...unoriginal.

Just a nitpick. The Shadow in Sonic Heroes wasn't a robot. The characters just theorized that he was. In all actually he got amnesia. As the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow is a true immortal, meaning he can never, ever, die.

Shadow awoke from one of the capsules that was seen containing all the other robo-shadows at the beginning of the game. Omega fired upon him saying, "Must eliminate all of Eggman's robots." That and Shadow from Sonic Heroes doesn't have the flashbacks of Maria or Arc that Shadow from SA2 and Shadow the Hedgehog does. If that isn't dead proof he's a robot...I really don't know what is.

Besides, Robots > Ultimate life forms.

And if he truely was immortal, then why would Gerald Robotnik have Maria help him escape the military when Arc was raided? Why does he fear anyone? And why does he need rings to survive (lol@highlander rings)?

Shadow isn't the true Ultimate Life form, his 'original' self was (the Biolizard). This was only due to it's ability to self generate energy enough to make it invincible, however Shadow has shown us that even the ultimate life form isn't invincible as he killed the Biolizard near the end of the story. Then fell helplessly into the earth's atmosphere, probably catching on fire in re-entry and painfully falling to his inevitable death.

Then one day Robotnik was bored and thought to himself "Hey, that Shadow guy was a pimp. I should make a robot of him." So there you go.

But then...the Shadow in Shadow the Hedgehog had memories of the raid on Arc, something that Robo-Shadow didn't know at all because Robotnik would've had no memory of this to program into him. Shadow never told anyone about that. So the Shadow from that game is without a doubt the 'real' Shadow from SA2.

This is Sonic we're talking about. Nothing makes sense.

 Also in the last battle of the game, Eggman confesses to Shadow that he saved him in Sonic Adventure 2 before he fell to Earth, meaning he is the real Shadow from Sonic Adventure 2, and not a Shadow Android as was believed.

Yes, Shadow WAS badass. Ultimate lifeform, test tube baby, stops time, terrorizes city's due to his incomplete memories, and more. THEN, he turns into "imma ride a motorcycle and shoot me up some bad guyz". Yeah, that's so hardcore.
I love Shadow from SA2, and even heroes, but...ruined. It's not his fault (heh, like it could be), it is just sad that he was so great, but now so sad. I have hope for the future, but Sonic Team will need some big improvment.

I've never even heard of that.

Shadow isn't the original. Deal with it. It blantantly says in SA2 that Shadow is a modified clone of the Biolizard, possessing all of it's memories. He is even forced to come to terms with it in which he responds, "Even if it wasn't the same me, it's still me, Shadow."

And I don't even know why we're arguing about him in Sonic Heroes. He's in a capsule which is the same type seem holding all the other robot shadows, it drains of water, a robotic 'activation' sound occurs when he opens his eyes, Omega shoots at him insinuating that he is a robot, he asks Robotnik what his past is and Robotnik states, "You have no past to remember."

I don't care what some Wiki says. Go look up Wikipedia for Vaginal Cancer. Last time I read it the page said it was contagious.

 Supposedly, eggman saved Shadow or something and made clones of him, that or he saved his robots as well as sonic when the station went down in SA2. Something along those lines. And- though it's been a while- the biolizard was I believe a failed attempt at the ultimate lifeform...still rusty though

In the storyline, this is the shadow from heroes. He has the memories of Heroes (I think...don't quote me on that bit), but storyline-wise, it's the same one. I'll find proof because I know you will want it >.>
