another tales of destiny (directors cut) (doesn't seem to say what platform :S)
and a port of tales of rebirth for the PSP

I do hope the DS doesn't hold back the other Tales game, but so far the game looks pretty good.

i have tales of the tempest (first DS one) but not played much at all D:

tales of symphonia's the only one i've completed and i thought it was really amazing, so i cant wait
and i'm damn lucky it's on the wii lol
(almost complete eternia, almost completed phantasia but lost save, some hours into abyss, but i need to kick my ps2 up the arse)

Oh, this is a glorious day

At today's Tales press conference, the series producer announced that the Nintendo DS will be the lead platform for the Tales series going forward.

Why? Because the Tales series means:

- "A drama containing deep themes"
- "Sounds and visuals that showcase anime FMV, theme songs and voice"
- "The unique Linear Motion Battle System"

...and the DS is "more than capable of this Tales-ness"

This could be summed up so much easier with "the DS sold a lot lol".

But seriously, Tales of the Tempest only sold ~100,000 on DS. What makes them think a new one will do any differently (and yes, I know ToT was crap?)

Tales Of The World: Radiant Mythology just came out recently on the PSP.

hmm... i think also a port of tales of destiny 2 as well, although i can't remember if it is that game for sure or not

yeah, there's pretty much no choice for us except for going illegal, which isn't the easiest thing to do :/
but i guess there's no way in hell that it'd always stay the same. if they want to grow bigger, which of course they would do, they'd have to bring some stuff out to the west
it seems quite likely that tos2 will be out everywhere and maybe that new ds one (if they're wanting the ds to be the main platform for the games, then i guess that also makes it more likely the west will get them), although as with tempest, maybe not :/
and those other two seem even more unlikely D:

well, they cant just leave such a franchise in japan forever though
even if now its a complete joke for them to ship to the west, some how they'll have to get the games more noticed here, but yeah, currently it seems like there's no way that's happening :/

well at least nintendo's here to save the day again though
maybe this'll be a way to greatly improve my japanese, playing such rpg's

the tales of the world games are more like fan things. just include characters from the previous games and arent such an epic rpg, as far as i know
although im even less sure about the psp one, but still, im pretty sure they're far from the amazing rpg's the non "the world" games are

there's a few tales remakes for the psp, but japan only :/
except tales of eternia. that's quite an awesome game

I never got a GC and don't plan to buy a wii, but I always wanted to play as

I'm looking forward to Tales of Destiny, mainly because I missed it on the PS1, TOS2 I'm also excited about, but of course I'm set for disappointment as with any direct sequel expectations are high.

but the title under the name of it (tales of destiny) says "directors cut)
unless you already know it's a destiny 1 port?

but technically, you can play psx games on the psp, but if you dont know how, it's not the most straight forward thing

I'm only assuming since there is a picture of Leon that TOD is a remake/port as he wasn't in number 2 if I remember correctly, since he  died in 1. I'm more or less confused on a few things though.

hopefully the new ToD is a port of the original since i too missed it on the ps1. hopefully ToS2 lives up to the 1st one. i wonder what it'll be about...

Has any information been release on what the gameplay is like and if it completely exploits the DS Lite?
