Microsoft admits that ALL 11.6.Million Xbox 360's are DEFECT
Yup, i have 2 links to prove it. After all the problems people have reported, Microsoft finaly admits that every single Xbox 360 is defective. Maybe your 360 hasent had problems yet, but it is defective and will have problems in the future if this is true.

Indeed Microsoft is in some big trouble if they wasted 1.6 millon dollars on a console that dosen't work.
But, oh well it was their money not mine!

All I have to say is...

Re: Microsoft admits that ALL 11.6.Million Xbox 360's are DEFECT
And that is the sole reason why I will never be an early adopter. So many problems go wrong at launch. You'd think they would have fixed them by now.

I want an official source. I believe this to be false. Bill Gates didnt become the richest man in the world by selling defective stuff did he?

Re: Microsoft admits that ALL 11.6.Million Xbox 360's are DEFECT
Okay io guess i worded it wrong. All 360's have design flaws that could make them break. It still means that anyones Xbo 360 can break at any time without them doing a thing. There will probaly be more news on this another time, but right now those are the only 2 i can find. If it is a lie, why would more then one website report it? Microsoft has obviously said somthing. They extended the warranty to 3 years, so they know there are major problems with there console. I wouldent be surprised if this is true.

Love how nobody mentioned the warrenty of a 360 was extended by three years for EVERY 360. Even one's previously bought a year ago ^_^.

I always look at warranty. Luckily for me, I always look. That's a must for shoppers!

It's real enough. Try searching Google News for XBox 360 failure rate, and you'll find plenty of reputable sources.Zer0 wrote:Seconded.LegendaryDarkKnight wrote:I want an official source. This is completely not true. I've yet to see an OFFICIAL source say this. All these sources are saying is "Someone from Microsoft said 'lol our 360s r teh sux'. THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE ALL DEFECTIVE."
I wouldn't use "FINE" to describe what various retailers estimate as a failure rate of up to 33%.Also:
After many months of public complaints and outcries, Microsoft has publically admitted that *ALL* (as in every single one ever sold) Xbox360's have a design defect that can lead to their failure.
Can =/= will. The 360s are FINE.

And one day that warranty will run out and I dont htink people enjoy sending there consoles in to get fixed.

That's also why we have an extended warrenty now. Mines good for another two and a half. If it dies it will die before then I'm sure.
Is the 33% statistic from one source heard from another? I didn't click the link. I doubt multiple string of studies would produce the same 1/3 ratio.

Re: Microsoft admits that ALL 11.6.Million Xbox 360's are DEFECT
It's not a study, more a matter of anecdotal evidence. Here's an extract from the article:.hack//Subaru wrote:Is the 33% statistic from one source heard from another? I didn't click the link. I doubt multiple string of studies would produce the same 1/3 ratio.
"The real number [of Xbox 360 failure rates] is between 30 to 33 percent," said one former EB Games employee. An anonymous Best Buy employee said the failure rate for the console was "between a quarter to a third" of all units sold.
An EB Games current employee claimed a 1 in 4 failure rate when speaking to GamePro.
...
By comparison, one EB Games retailer said the single store failure rate of PS3s was less than one per cent and conceded that "in the hundreds of Wii units sold at that location thus far, zero have come back as defective."

Well at least Microsoft ponied up a little bit. I do however think this will hinder a little of 360's sales.
