Now the 60GB costs just as much as the 20GB did, and the 80 GB cost as much as the 60GB used to. The 80GB also comes with MotorStorm and somthing that makes the backwards compatability worse. 80GB goes on sale in August.

And the 60GB Playstation 3 has gone to #1 spot on Amazon, Blu ray remote for ps3 is #2, PS3 remote is #3,Wii goes to #4 place.

Does anyone else think that bringing an 80GB to NA is a HORRIBLE idea? Its going to be like launch!! a 600 dollar one and a 500 dollar one!!! Instead of buyign the 80GB, you can buy the 60GB, go to futureshop and spend an extra $70(guessin price) to get 160GB!! And who cares about Motorstorm, MOTORSTORM SUCKS!

Anyone who wnats to compare Sony bringing an 80GB PS3 and Microsoft bringing the Elite is WAK!!! You can upgrade the 60gb to be better then the 80gb, you cant get an HDMI port on the premium Xbox 360.

Edit: Wii has moved to #4 place on Amazon. PS3 blu ray remote and controller moved to 2nd and 3rd.

I think i nknow the reason for this. Sony htinks everyone will want to get there hands on a 500 dollar PS3 before they discontinue, so everyone will buy one and hte sales will rise for the month.

uh not ALL PS3 games suck, Gundam Dynasty Warriors and Mist of Chaos, Armored Core 4 have proven themselves that they are coming up to be good quality for games. So they DONT suck.

To me, I already have a PS3 with a good deal from EB Games , so I careless of what 80 GB is like. ((which means I did not pay 600 dollars for my PS3 instead for 500 brand new back in January)).

lol PS2 on it's launch was 300$, and XBox 360 was 400 for the lower quality (Green) and 500 for the newer one (White). First Launch of XBox 360 had Ebay Cost of 800~1000. Nintendo Wii in Stores was 300, and First Launch was 500~800. Playstation 3 was 600 dollars 60 GB one, and First Lauch of Ebay was 1000~2000.

I htink the main PS3 is still the 60GB. I think the 80GB is kind of a bundle. For 100 dollars more, you can get motorstorm(crapy) and an extra 20Gb!! 80GB= CRAPY

They need to chop it at least 150$ for the average person to get the console. Think about it? Who is gonna wanna get a console that cost 600$ when you can get a Wii for 250$ and a decent game to go with it? Or a 360 with already great games to play and Xbox live.

Dont forget the 10$ more for the ps3 games .

the price drop is working though. I think it was acouple days ago that the 60GB was at like, #40 on Amazon, now its #1. PS3 controller and blu ray controller have moved to 2nd and third, putting the Wii at 4th.

Besides Its not just me who thinks the ps3 price tag is hefty. I bet if you looked in other forums or past topics who spoke of the price, youll see everyone says its too expensive.

maybe it's because the First Release Were supposed to be expesive? OH NO? They were supposed to keep it cheap as they were about to be released? ZOMG and the device Blu-Ray is 1000$ for a device right now! Isn't it a bit cheaper for PS3? Wowwwwww at least use your head before you complain and whine about "OMG IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE, WHYYYY SONY" There are devices that added to make PS3 to be very stable, and honestly, I've never seen my PS3 to crash due to overheating at all than watch XBox 360 back in their first releases. And what's that, HD DVD is cheap and Blu-Ray isnt? Hello? the device graphic and speed quality are different. Obviously Blu-Ray is going to be more expensive since the first device it came out was attached inside of PS3. Blu-Ray devices werent out yet when PS3 was released. Now it's 1000$. So don't give me that financial excuse and how other people have been complaining about how it's expensive. If you are not going to buy it, then keep it to yourself. There is no need to paste your manure on the thread making it look like PS3 isn't going to be successful.

Yeah some PS3 games are good BUT most of the games I've seen on the PS3 suck. Thogh the ones you ARE possably the best games that I've seen on the PS3 besides DMC4.
