What does everyone think about Nintendo making their products smaller? ...even if they think it's more portable it's still easier to lose and then the company gets twice the money if you rebuy the product, i say make the product game cartridge at least as big as the GBA, the DS is twice as small as the GBA game catridge. The gamecube's games are twice as small as ps2 and xboxs, i say make the games bigger.

I think nintendo is marketing more towards children thats why there smaller to fit in a childs hand easyer I mean no offense at all but gamecubes games are very kiddy like animal crossing and umm pikmen.. I don't have a gamecube and probbly won't but I can always enjoy a good play of Metroid or Super Smash at my friends house.FLARE of the Crimson Flam wrote:The DS games are too tiny. You remember when Mortal Kombat was on snes? Nintendo doesen't have that anymore but anyway I think its stupid to make them smaller because it just causes more problems they think its amazing they can make something so small and have a full game on it....... so dumb!
Smaller = Ickier.. People who aren't so organized can very easily lose videogames as it is. If it can get lost in your back pocket its too small. I understand making it easier for small children to hold but it just gets ridiculous after a while. What is the point of making them smaller?
More companies need to consult consumers before making changes to products.

I can sympathize, southprk256. I hate the size of the DS games - they tend to slip out of my fingers when I'm trying to put them back in the case (and I have a fear that I'm going to break them somehow). The GBA's cartridges were a decent size; I see no reason that the DS's should be smaller (especially consdering the DS has a slot for GBA games).
Nintendo is not necessarily marketing at children; their games simply have a "family oriented" focus instead of a "violence = awesome" focus. And it's funny how you can come up with a whopping TWO games to support your idea that Nintendo's Gamecube is somehow "kiddy." Maybe you should take a look at the Resident Evil series? Or Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes? There are "Mature" games on the Gamecube. What if I went and called the PS2 kiddy because there are a few games aimed at kids? Don't make an generalization about the Gamecube just because of a few games. And also, there's nothing wrong with trying to make games that are actually FUN instead of idiotic games that are "cool because they have craploads of violence and an M rating."HeavyBladeRena wrote:I think nintendo is marketing more towards children thats why there smaller to fit in a childs hand easyer I mean no offense at all but gamecubes games are very kiddy like animal crossing and umm pikmen.. LETS ALL EMAIL NINTENDO AND TELL THEM ABOUT HOW MORE PEOPLE VOTED THEY LIKED APPLE PIE THEN THEIR SMALL GAMES!! But honestly, it wouldn't hurt to make them bigger. The PSP will have the same size disc as the Nintendo Gamecube (I think...). If a console's discs are as big as a handheld, something is wrong.

I support Nintendo's small equipment. Compare the size of the Gamecube to, say, Xbox. The GCN is less than half it's size, but still a powerful console. PS2 is rather large also, though they recently released a new 'smaller' version of it. I should also note that GCN using smaller discs means Nintendo doesn't have half the problems with piracy as Microshaft and Sony. Xbox and PS2 both use dvd's for their games, you can mod your console and download all the games you want. You can't do that with the gamecube. Nintendo has better brains behind their stuff. And it's true, they can pack an equal or better game on their 2.1gb minidvd's than PS2 or Xbox can on their standard 4.7gb discs.
Smaller = better? Yes.

I really don't care in the least bit about size. the only time size is a problem is the screen. I meen, 2 screens is fine and all but which one to keep track of? I preffer one avarage sized screen. as for everything else, I don't give a Hoot.

This is the third age-old thread you've revived. This = thread necromancy. I could see bringing back, say, a three- or four-month-old thread to update something, but this is pointless. If you see a thread that's a year+ old, just make a new one.dothacker569 wrote:The games for consols are getting so much smaller! its sooo cool what they can do these days!![]()
