Its absurd. . . Yes; if it was only in a console RPG, and not an MMORPG . .
But just think if it was really MMORPG (Because the topic creator ask about .hack >.<) , it'll be very intresting to see people working hard to level up until level 9999 .

But of course, it'll make the game rather unbalanced. Just like Darry-san said, just look at the G.U games. When you fight an enemies with 10 level above you, it'll be very hard. . .
To think to level up until level 9999 . . . . Well, the only conclusion (If they persist to cap the level that high) is to quicken the Level Gain

But no --a I rather not play games like that. Especially G.U games. . .

Somehow I remember a scene where there's a hikikomori (A nerd who always plays at home and never go out . . . Mainly because they're scared with other people) played a game until he reach level . . . Yeah, 1 million (^^') . You see; that person plays that game from College days. . . And he become an old man after reaching that level >_>; Just say if we want to become level 9999. . . In G.U games. . . Lol, its just a waste of time .
