Converting Data
Converting Data
I'm new to this whole .hack series. I've never really heard about it until I got deployed out here to UAE, next to Saudi Arabia and they were selling .hack//G.U.//Rebirth and I love RPG's, so I thought what the hell? Well right when I started playing it I loved the whole gameplay and the storyline. It was one of the greatest storylines ever. Anyways, I started looking more into it, and I found out that i'm starting this game off on the second series of this game. So I ordered the first two volumes of the first series, and i'm going to start playing those games. My question is, I've already beatin rebirth, gotten level 50, completed all quests, level 3 guild, found all monsters, all weapons, armor, items and accesories. And i've pretty much done everything I can.
So what i'm wanting to know is, since i'm going to start playing the first series, all 4 games, converting data along the way. After I beat volume 4, is there a possible way to convert that data into my game of Rebirth that i've already beaten? Or would I have to replay it from the beginning to be able to convert the data?

i dont think you can convert into you existing files but to let you know if you convet the forth file Quarantine it gives you everthing that you would get from the others... and their just emails that accedently get sent to you from 2 car one is blackrose and the other i cant remeber right now but i think its from .hack//SIGN or .hack//Liminality both are animes. SIGN is from before Infection and Liminality is packaged with IMOQ (first 4 games)
Granted this game is .hack, I don't know a damn thing about hacking lol. And jesus, where at in Ohio are you located if I may ask? I'm from Fairborn. Just curious though.
And Zer0, any idea on how one would go about doing something like that and if it's even able to be done. What do the e-mails consist of that i'd receive, would it be anything to add on to the storyline or is it kinda worthless?

haha yeah Zer0, jesus is the guy that posted right after I did, and I noticed it said his location was Ohio. That's why I asked. About the hacking part... i'm playing all these games on a PS3. So would the harddrive on the PS3 itself be able to work? And it sounds like the e-mail is pretty useless anyways. So it's not a big deal. I was always wondering who everyone was talking about when mentioning Kite, and after I started playing .hack//Infection, it all started to come together. Especially where Tri-Edge came from. He's Kite. I don't know exactly what happened yet since i'm still on the first volume but i'll get there eventually.
Also, i'm ordering the .hack// anime T.V. series... however, i'm not sure which is first. There's 3 different anime that i've found.
.hack//roots
.hack//Legend of Twilight(It says "complete collection", however, i'm not sure if it's actually the complete collection or not since it seems like in this series there's about 5 or 6 volumes and it looks to me like it's more than the "complete collection", or is it actually really the complete collection?)
.hack//Sign
I think that's the order they're in but i'm not 100% sure on that either. Anyone know if i'm missing any series or anything?

That's not including the manga's
wait, what's the mangas? I'm ordering all of this stuff off of http://www.amazon.com and it's got all of that except for this thing called mangas... and you guys didn't answer my question about whether twilight one is the actual complete set or not since it seems to me like all the volumes together would be a lot more than just one set of discs...

Mangas are the Japanese word for graphic novels, although they have a different drawing style than American drawn graphic novels. .hack//Legend of the Twilight (or Dusk) is a complete series that has it's own plot apart from the others. (if i didn't answer your question there it's ok to shoot me XD)EthanHunt wrote:wait, what's the mangas? Hah, if you want to talk timelines, I made my own a while back. Please tell me if you see anything wrong with it, like things missing or out of order.

Haha what kind of gun do you prefer to get shot with? lol i'm just kidding... but what i'm trying to ask, is that when I ordered the Twilight series, it said that it was "The complete series" and then when I was looking around it looked like there could be more because some of the other volumes had box sets with it as well... that's what I was wondering... is it actually the full set or not?
Not too sure what the Twilight Series is, but .hack//The Legend of the Twilight has its own box set. Three manga packed into the box, and the third one is huge compared to the other two.when I ordered the Twilight series, it said that it was "The complete series" and then when I was looking around it looked like there could be more because some of the other volumes had box sets with it as well... that's what I was wondering... is it actually the full set or not?
I actually have a second timeline that I sort of stole and edited from DotHack Wiki..hack//BICTIOUS wrote:And it's really only a one year gap, if even that, between Genetics of the Unknown and Genocide of ther Unfaithful. Roots started in mid-to-late 2016.
Edit: I think they updated their's now, and it's much more detailed than before.

oooh. what might be happening is that you ordered the manga (or the anime) and then while you were looking around you saw the complete collection of the other since .hack//Legend of the Twilight is the only .hack manga to get turned into an anime. FYI: the manga series is only three volumes.EthanHunt wrote:Hachibi wrote:Mangas are the Japanese word for graphic novels, although they have a different drawing style than American drawn graphic novels. .hack//Legend of the Twilight (or Dusk) is a complete series that has it's own plot apart from the others. if im not completey wrong, there's a flag in the savefile for the IMOQ data conversion.Zer0 wrote:Well, I know you can edit the save files to a point, but I have never tried to edit them that much
i haven't tried what happens if you alter that value manually.
it might be that the missing emails appear or then they just don't appear, or in worst case, the savefile becomes corrupted ^___^
