((You would assume correct, sir.))

Thank you, Shee-son, Malystrx replied as she fell silent, a bit of a smile on her lips as she closed her eyes.

Jaenelle nodded as she winged down to him. " Yes, I did use my breath. And I'm glad you like it, as the only time I really do it is when my Human half-sister, Wilhelmina, and Father come to visit," Jaenelle replied as she sat down on the other stood, thankful for its softness. She hadn't realized just how tired she was until then. "I do hope they're alright... Last I held, they were out of the city, but I haven't heard anything for a while."

Xander took a drink and glanced at Malystrx briefly before replying. She wouldn't leave her mother, but what else can I say in response to that? I can't assure her of their safety and to say nothing would be rude. "You could go check on them." He put a comforting hand on her arm and smiled. "Although, you sound like you could use some sleep first. You worry so much about your mother, you mustn't forget about your own health."

Jaenelle smiled wearily. "Thank you, Xander." She chuckled. "I must look and sound awful to have you say that, but you're right, I worry for Mother so much I forget sometimes to take care of myself..." She giggled slightly, looking to the Grand Red. "I know, Mother, you're more then able to defend yourself, but I still worry. After all, you're my only mother," she replied happily to them both, Malystrx smiling a bit. She looked at Xander. "So, did Mother have a lot to say to you, Xander?"

He frowned slightly at Jaenelle's thank you, but his smile returned at her laughter. "She said that you worry over her a great deal." He looked over at Malystrx and he frowned, tracing the lip of his glass with two fingers. "I haven't been welcome at the courts proper in years, I would like to visit again eventually. But I can speak with my kin via the rivers so I don't worry about them. Of course, there's not many who would try to kill a banshee." He looked back at Jaenelle smiling again, "Except when we're the bearers of bad news. I actually got thrown in jail earlier today." He laughed remembering it.

((Sorry for the shortness. I'm kinda tired.))

Jaenelle couldn't help but giggle a bit with him. "In Jail? I guess that was some serious bad news... I hope not to receive that kind of news either..." she said as she leaned gently on the table. Malystrx was right. It was impossible to tell if she refused to believe, or didn't truly realized, the her Mother was dying. "Still though, Jail seems a bit... excessive... for such a thing. After all, its not as if you killed them yourself."

"Nothing worse than what anyone else hears, although everyone always claims it is." He shrugged. "Sometimes they try to kill to me, often times it's a son or daughter who's been told their parent, who has been sick for ages, has finally died. That last glimmer of hope rather than going out in silence explodes into a fireball hot enough to melt steel. It's beautiful, in it's own way." A sad smile graced his lips for a moment as he recalled one such occasion.

"But that's not what got me imprisoned. What got me in jail was that the guards thought I was faking, and I had to prove to them that I am what I claimed. The easiest way of doing that was to demonstrate a wail. They didn't take kindly to one of their own being knocked unconscious." He took a sip of the water. "It's hard to blame them for it. After all, as far as I know there are no other living sons of banshees. At least none that have inherited the call to sing and the ability to do so. They all take after their father, not their mother. Of course, all female children of a banshee are without fail pure blooded shee no matter the father." He swirled the water around in his glass as he continued. "All of the kin I've ever met have been women. I guess that's where the term Shee came from." The last sentence clearly showed that he held some contempt relating to the term.

"I...I see..." Jaenelle replied as she gave her mother a troubled glance. He couldn't be... NO! Mother has been recovering all this time. Her wounds are smaller then they were... Jaenelle thought to herself, trying to reassure herself. It wasn't as effective as it usually was. She sighed as she put her head down on her arms. "But I can understand, I guess. The only reason I realized you were a Banshee was that I recognized your voice from the Lament. It must be hard to be the only male Banshee..."

"Normally, no, but when I go to the courts or a gathering I am treated little better than a mortal. Worse at times it seems." He put a hand on the table and pressed down as if he was trying to push through it. "But that's enough about my troubles. I am a guest, I should not burden you with my inconveniences." Finally giving up he picked up the water and drank the last of it. He stacked the glass atop the empty plate and stood with them. "Where shall I take these?"

Jaenelle perked up a little, as if she'd been on the verge of dozing. She sat up to look at him with an awkward smile. "Thank you, Xander. Just go into the room behind me and turn right. It's the room after the next one. You can just place them on the counter there and I'll get to them later," Jaenelle replied as she pointed to the doorway that she'd entered from earlier.

Xander smiled with a nod. "Will do. Your exhaustion seems to have finally caught up with you. When I return I'll tuck you in and sing a lullaby, if you like." He frowned upon turning his back on Jaenelle. It's just the way of non-faerie. He reminded himself as he walked. He glanced behind him, deciding Jaenelle may have something to say to her mother in private, he took a moment and washed the glass and plate before returning. He half expected to find her fast asleep on the table.
