What's so bad about the dub? All the voices fit them just fine, even Phyllo's and Tabby's. Tabby was an annoying character, so naturally, they are gonna give her an annoying voice. And why do you care if their is cursing? What's so special about it? They did curse, but only a couple of times. The only one I can remember at the top of my head is when Bordeaux is fighting Gord and says "Damn you!". But still, why do you care for cursing?

Well when I say annoying, I mean that some of the characters in the show considered her annoying. I liked her voice too in the Jpn version. By the way, does the dub still speed up the footage by like a half-second?

i think u got the game confused with roots. Bordeaux called Pi a b!tch when u first meet Pi. i too have only watched the fansubs. im up to the episode where
they use the virus cores to transport
Maybe I do I have the game and show mixed up. I was really tired when I wrote that

Well, during the fight between Bordeaux and Gord, Bordeaux is meant to refer to Gord as 'bastard', but they replaced that with her simply saying 'damn it'.
I'm not going to complain though, this just means my younger cousin, who loved SIGN, can watch Roots with me. It's not like you need to feel naughty when watching something to enjoy it.

You all are missing the point, you're comparing translation to fan-subbing which often uses curse words loosely. The Japanese language doesn't have curse words in the same sense you'd think of them, at least how I look at it. We have words that are offensive and vulgar and I'm sure the Japanese language has such slang aswell but in most Anime I've seen they don't use anything extreme.
We use curse words that are vulgar whereas in Japanese they will have words that mean the same thing yet have more negative tone to them or rudeness. Example:
for "You"
Kimi: Very Polite
Anata: Normal
Anta: Feminine
Omae: Masculine or a little "manly", might be rude-ish
Temee~: Has anger behind it, is often translated to Bastard.
My Japanese isn't perfect yet that's what I've come to notice watching Raw series and fan-subs. .hack//ROOTS had Haseo so yes, he used a lot of hateful and anger filled words. He says Temee in relation to Tri-Edge quite a lot in fact.
I try to get a feel for words instead of search for a perfect translation so above is what I feel. I still am working on trying to figure out some terms like "Shikusho" which seems to be like "Kuso" and "Shimatta"
From what I feel:
Shikusho: Frustrated yell, such as DAMN IT! or WHY?!
Kuso: Seems to feel like basicly being upset or frustrated like if you're having a bad day or someone's annoying you.
Shimatta: Seems to be flat out like Damn it.

You're pretty much right, actually. People just interpret Japanese words to be curses, even when they're.. not.
For example, an episode of Tokusou Setnai Dekaranger, subbed by TV Nihon -
Swan: Uso... (No way...)
Subs: Oh, ****.
And about "shimatta", that's actually just a term to mean something like "oh no". It can be ANYTHING as long as it has that general meaning. ("Gee golly, Haseo, this is buggered. :O" for example)

Yeah, pretty much the only censored words (words that people don't want to hear) in Japanese are sexual slang or derogatory terms, such as against the mentally-challenged. The power behind other words usually determines whether it's "swear-like" or not. That's not completely lacking in English. If you watch The Big Lebowski, the f-word is essentially more tame than "dang" most of the times they say it...
You could always just pretend R:2 has a language filter though...

I've seen Uso translated wrongly a lot too. It's from the word Usotsuki, or liar. Uso would be best translated as "You're joking/kidding" or "This situation must be a lie"
My most favorite use of is by Demyx from Kingdom Hearts 2 after he loses to Sora yelling out "USO~~~~~!"

It's rated TV Y-7
There should be no curing...
Though rarely, characters (like Gord[or Gourd]) sneak in a "damn" like in the episode before melee (the one I missed)
