This is only my basic view on morals, so don't take it so seriously. If I offend anyone in any way then I'm sorry it's how I think. If you don't like it, tough luck.
Morals: I don't believe morals are degrading, they're changing. If you compare today's world with that of Puritan America, you'll see that alot has changed since then. Back then if you so much as dressed different you would be hanged, but now the owrst that can happen to you is being shout at by your parents. So society isn't falling apart, it's just changing with the times. Even 'delinquents' know there's a line between right or wrong.
If I could change the world for the better, it would be that people would never take things so serious as go on protests about it. Look I don't care if your gay, dating someone over aged, or are from a different religion. You have your views and I have mine; so don't tell me what's best and what's not, I can make that choice myself.
Material: Let just get this out in the open; every human is selfish. They will always expect something when giving away something. Whether it be a christmas present or an act of kindness, you will always want something back.
So my view on this would be like Umbra's. Be thankful you have something, and haven't lost everything.
Sex: While I may not like the fact of teenagers having sex, it's not my right to tell them what to do. If it's what both partners want, then I won't get in their way. If it was up to me what they should do, then they wouldn't have a free will. But even then I would only tell them to do what they think is right.

let me make this perfectly clear I never say that i am better then anyone else so just lay off the hole idea of me saying that i am better every one else i just voiced my opinion is that ok????????Akuta wrote:That's extremely irrelevant. As for the rest of your post, i'll try to translate it for my brain later. Too tired right now.
To the first two lines though, i can say that you are saying you're better than everyone else. I'm pretty sure i saw a "i'm not like that" somewhere in the big chunk.
Anyways, i'll get back to ya later.
o this is my lat post on this thread so that is that

That's because you are a pimp, marth.marthwmaster wrote:I strongly believe sex to be a sacred act. But because I am an American, I also think everyone should be allowed to make their own decisions. I think this so-called immorality is a small price to pay in return for having the freedom to live your own life.
Umbra's posts have so much intelligence in them.Umbra wrote:You shouldn't worry about morals if you disagree with them, the fact that you do tells you that not everyone thinks in such a way.
It's when you don't find anything wrong with at least someone's morals that you should worry, as there will inevitably be people that play society's role as the 'delinquent'.
For the argument of material possessions I will say that all humans have material possessions, it is now impossible to live life without them, as you'd be arrested when found without any clothes. My opinion on the matter is that you should treat material possessions as a privilege rather than a right, and enjoy them.
As for premarital sex, It'd be rather hypocritical for me to say its wrong, but in all honesty, I don't believe that. I was born to unmarried parents and so were my two brothers, and my parents only got married a few years ago. My own belief if that sex is sacred, unfortunately I've never had the chance to 'give myself' to someone in such a manner, but I don't believe you have to wait until after marriage to have sex with someone.
Anyways, human intelligence phails.

That is an example of what i'm talking about.they are greedy aand have not self control. i can safely say that i am not like this (and if i was i would shoot myself) people are jsut so stupied.
You should try to calm down though. Wouldn't want this to turn into bashing.

BIG TEXT IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL
Morals and such do change as the times change, but come on, there has to be a certain degree of change and I really don't like the amount of negativity and hatred in todays people is the kind of change, nor degree of change that is needed, as in making this sort of behavior mainstream and acceptable.

The Essence of Transcende: I would read your entire last post, but I had trouble reading and understanding the first few lines.
Not that this is addressing anyone's post, in particular, but being married doesn't automatically make sex sacred. You can be unmarried and still hold sex sacred. People seem to think that once it's official on paper, it's automatically "right."
I believe promiscuous and casual sex is wrong. I don't believe pre-marital sex is wrong.

I think the biggest thing to watch out for is getting married just so you can have sex. Naturally, sex will be a big part of the married relationship, but it is not something that by itself can make a marriage work. I think you should enter a marriage only after telling yourself that you'll never have sex with the person. If you still want to spend your life with them after thinking that way for awhile, then it's more likely that you're not being guided by feelings of lust.

I haven't read the other posts, but I continue on.
Well I sort of, and sort of don't. I hate the trends and the shallow people, but we've always had that, right?
And most of the people others call "disturbed" such as gore fanatics and "occultists" are usually the most redeemable souls out there.
I just hate most people. Misanthropy was made because our people are so incredibly moronic. I could go on and on about this, but I won't, considering it would probably offend most of the people here.

I agree. A real relationship is something not found in today's world. Its hard work, more so you are supporting someone other than yourself.marthwmaster wrote:I think the biggest thing to watch out for is getting married just so you can have sex. To me, you take care of your wife, tell her you love her everyday and mean it. Then at the end of the day, there is something to go back to after work. Thats the joy of it all.
But telling someone you really care for them is looked down upon. Then again, theres always alot of ways to read this. My youngest sister, age 15, for instance is stalked by a 19 year old who is "in love" with her. Everyone in this house knows what hes after, but my sister lets her guard down and allows him to wrap his fingers around her. Too bad for him my Dad was in the marines heh...
At any rate find someone worth getting to. And when you do, when you find out you two really do love each other. It will be like heaven on Earth.
lawlz, that's sick haha, sorry, got me all choked up. Yeh, "you know our world is headed to destruction when", 11 yr. olds go shopping for thongs with thier father and or mother.....ew, I think i just barfed a lil' in my mouth.Balian wrote:you can tell our world is headed to destruction when a 14 year old makes a thread about making out and says he likes it rough
14 yo's making out and 11 yo's shopping for thongs are quite different issues, and the latter is unrrealistic. I'm sure there are the odd handfulls of 11 yo thong wearers, but just because you saw it on South Park or wherever doesn't make it true.ilona~POW wrote:lawlz, that's sick haha, sorry, got me all choked up. Speaking of the morals of 100 years ago, you might remember a time when 14 year olds were married and making babies, and that was well over 100 years ago. Morals have really gone downhill since medieval times.
