As for groundbreaking games...Yes, i'm looking forward to trying out resistance too and I know, I know, but this IS the best example:
What's the difference between Halo and Resistance? The time it's set in, the story(it's never the exact same) and uuuhhhh....uuuuh...uuuuhhhh...yeah. And no, size doesn't matter. Besides, who cares if the game is 100 hours long? Only an rpg(read: something like oblivion) can actually last for huge amounts of time. FPSes can be fun, but it's always the multiplayer that keeps the replay value up for most people (although not for me).

And i don't know how representative a poll on this forum would actually be in this subject, considering how it's a forum about a series that so far has only touched the ps2 when it comes to games.
Another good example for this is the fact that we're only like, four people actually liking the 360 here.

The Wii will most likely come on top since it's cheaper and has more simple yet creative games that, just like they're aiming at, are more likely the kind of games non-gamers would like to try out. Compare learning the controls on a ps2 or xbox controller you're not used to even holding in your hands, to just swinging a stick to play tennis.

Aku, where did I say Resistance was better then Halo? I only said I wanted Resistance, it looks good and I hear it's one of the PS3's best games coming out. All FPS are the same, even Halo. Get a gun, run into a enemy, kill him, move on, find more enemies and kill them, level complete. I only want Resistance because it seems promising, and actually offers something new. Yes, the Wii is an impressive machine. In fact, I see as a **** slap to the other two consoles. Here the Xbox and Playstation are giving us a box with pretty wrapping (graphics) but with the same gift inside (gameplay). The Wii is giving us less pretty wrapping, but with something new inside the box! So yeah, I get your point, I know the Wii was a great machine.

Yeah, every new FPS is the halo killer.

Altough sony did better in TGS, it was still preaty bad compared to Microsofts X06, which was really well prepared.

Yeah I know, but this game actually seems promising. It may not sell more then Halo but gameplay wise they seem neck to neck.

I would get the 360 for Halo and DOA, the Wii for it's cool new gameplay(I so wanted to get my hands on the Wii so bad), and the PS3 because of Killzone 2, Tekken, Soul Calibur, and MGS4!!
I would want all three, but because all of them cost alot when you put them together, I take the PS3 as my primary choice because for me MGS4 is a MUST HAVE!!!

I would say the Wii is going to be the best system.
Since it has great games and i love the wiimote

if you like FPS and racing games with good graphics: xbox 360

if you liek RPG and gang war games: PS3


prices and specs i don't think should be an issue. i go for the systems that apeal to me with their GAMES nothing else. firstly i'll be getting the wii then the ps3 i will never the xbox cause i don't realy go for the FPS and no games on the xbox (even the first one) apeal to me.

The thing is, that isn't true.
The most exciting rpgs in my opinnion that are under development right no are 360 games and 360 has Saint's Row and will have GTA 4.
Sorry, but Sone ISN'T the king of rpgs as some would want to call them.

Yeah, 360 has many good RPGs on it right now, and also has GTA4, though not elclusive, they get extra content and chapters.

lmao for the first time in a long time the Wii comes with a game. "Wii Sports" lmao. Though it is good (so ppl get a feel for the controls) it does look a bit...how should I say, "Old-School".

So basically, the exclusives will end up being the deciding factor. The prize'll probably be considered by some people, but basically, they're equal.
Sony seems to like to brag, which really is too bad, because a lot of people have lost respect for them for that. Like how they came with comparison sheets between the three next-gen consoles, only they were full of incorrect information, like how Wii supposedly wouldn't be free after 6 months and how you "need a hard drive/memory unit" for a w-lan adapter on the 360 core systems.

Couldn't they just have come with solid true information instead of boasting around about how much better their system would be than the opposition's?

On a side note, the 360 + blue dragon bundles (i think there were 10,000 special edition ones and 90,000 normal ones) have sold out completely in japan very shortly after the pre-orders came up. This most likely means that Japanese developers might stop boycotting teh 360 seeing as lots of japs have will have them and there clearly is an interest for them.

hey i never said that sony was an rpg king. and i wasnt just saying that each one of those console are specifixc to that type of game. i was merely using them as an example based on previous game brought out. and what just cause one gang war game is out on 360 you say that the 360 specialises in those sorts of games? cause u gonna need alot more than that. i put rpg's with sony cause they have a heck of a lot and usually if someone lied rpg's they would go and buy a ps2. and the reason i say that 360 has better graphics is cause i haven't seen much gameplay of the ps3 and none for the wii so thats all thats based on. and just as an IMO i think your solely on 360's side and argue anyone who says utherwise

You're looking at how it's BEEN instead of looking ahead.

If you were to look at how it is this next generation of games, you'd see that the way the old gen worked doesn't apply anymore.
Sony doesn't make the highest amount of rpgs anymore, xbox doesn't have the superiously highest amount of shooters anymore. Things change. That's what you need to understand.


As for the gang war thing, ps2 had...GTA? Yeah, San Andreas at that. You're forgetting what Microsoft did their best to make fully clear to everyone: GTA isn't running on a "1-year exclusivity" contract anymore. Both the PS3 and the 360 will have it at the same time now.

And no, i like both sides, but i feel xbox 360 needs some backing too on a forum like this where a clear majority of the people are sony lovers. Besides, in an enviroment like that, lots of inaccurate information tends to come up. That's why i want to be there and make it clear. Like how the 360 has more announced rpgs than the PS3, yet people claim Sony make more rpgs (just an example).


Oh and i wasn't trying to say you were wrong or lying or anything about the 360 graphics thing. I was just suprised someone like you who seems to be behind the PS3 was saying the 360 has better graphics. Almost no PS3-only person seems to want to admit that they're atleast equal ;)

i know that things have changed, and i'm soooo sorry if i used bad examples. and you have to be remebering ps3 out out yet. the ps2 still makes more rpg's outa the conmsoles that are released NOW. and i'm not just refering to gta games as gang war games. theres games like, the godfather and maffia and stuff on the ps2 wether or not they're on the bxox i'm not sure.

i'm not siding or behind any console. i'm for all 3 because they all have difrent things that i like about them. but if i had to choose one i'd go for the wii because they're not stressed about competing like the other 2 are. they do what THEY want at the pace that THEY want.
