I think women underestimate men as much as men underestimate women.

Men aren't "visual creatures", the libido of homo sapien males is generally controlled by smell and touch. Also, a good portion of women, certainly more significant than a vocal minority, are pathologically obsessed with being visually appealing for it's own sake, not to attract men. Hell, that's what High School popularity wars tend to be about, just to give an overt, unveiled example. It ties into the typical female drive of wanting emotional acceptance, and you can believe that a shitload of women tend to hang out only with girls who are in the same tier of prettiness as they are. "Sorry, but if you want to sit at our table, you need to lose those narly shoes, girlfriend."

Well, back on topic. The girls reaction was way too extreme. Nothing good ever happens when you break someone else's property. It's karma baby, and it can be a ****. They could have resolved it without breaking consoles lol. The second video, she broke it right in front of him lol. She listed some of the reasons, aka a bum. In the first video, only reason she listed was her boyfriend spending too much time on his 360. It seems like the guy gamers hooked up with girls that desire a lot of attention. Both sides need to re-evaluate their priorities if they want to meet in a common ground. If not, then why be in this unstable relationship?

Unfortunately, most guys come to this realization, too little-too late.

The pokemon story made me lul, because when I was younger (when pokemon was a bit more popular and new) my current gf's QUICKLY found out where they came in my attention chain.

Because their fun. I have had to many stable, normal relationships. I want to go to sleep with a chick, and not know if I'll wake up or not the next day. One girl, yes and this is true sadly...pulled out a guantlet and hit me in the head with it, from her purse. Lets recap on that.

Whats really strange about that is...YEA. I mean you know when they say "nice guys finish last" and "the jerk always gets the girl." I always knew there was some truth to that...but I didn't discover it was COMPLETELY true until recently, because I believe I'm typically I'm a nice guy, but I've been really mean to some girls this semester, or frankly just not care if they think I'm a jerk...and WOW its crazy. Its just fusterating and hillarious looking back at all the nice times I tried to be overly nice and caring, and how that sometimes (not all the time, but alot more then the jerk method) failed...and now I've just stopped caring and how well its working for me. Last night was a perfect example of how being a complete jerk and uncaring completely worked! Hell after things happened she cleaned my house!
I will never again, take a girl seriously again when they complain their bf is being a jerk lol.

speaking of pokemon, I discovered my love for it, never went away. It only transfered to my radio. Songs on the radio, are like pokemon. Theres rare awesome ones you got to have/hear, then when you get it, you just toss it aside for the next one. And cheating by getting a cd with songs you can play at anytime is just like using a gameshark...it ruins the fun of it.

And this entire discussion is why my games are safely tucked away on a high shelf, systems always in my sight, and nobody (including girlfriends) goes into my room when I'm not home.

It's not that girls like jerks, it's that they like confident, self-assured men. Aloof assholes have the appearance of being confident because they don't seem like anything gets to them; that not only makes them attractive, but it also makes them seem like a challenge. Yea, while it can get you women, it's not the best strategy, because relationships built on what is essentially just sex appeal don't last, and eventually word is going to get around that you're a total ass, and they'll wise up.

The low success rate of "nice guys" stems from the fact that when people try to be nice to girls, they almost inevitably worry about whether they're making a proper impression, or if the girl will like them, or if they're doing something wrong. They get too self-consciencious, and they seem either desperate or unsure of themselves, and if they can't be sure of their own success, why will the girl give him a chance?

However, being a "nice guy" is good for relationships, because emotional reciprocation, communication, and empathy form lasting bonds. Not only will the relationship work better, but even if you fall out, your reputation won't really suffer for it, and it'll be easier for the girl to accept you just don't click and will be willing to stay friends with you, and possibly even be willing to help connect you to friends of hers.

The ultimate, ideal, strategy is to be confident and nice. Be nice to people without stopping to think of how they'll react. Just run up to them, be kind, flash a smile, and move on.
