I would rather by a new PC over another console......I'd rather wait for the problems to get taken care of before dishing out the money for a new system that could be recalled within a month....And PC's are easy to upgrade.
I'd wait at least a year to buy any of the platforms

I'm opting for the Wii. It's really the only console that has a good amount of games that I would enjoy. I know that I am betraying my beloved Final Fantasy, but unless the PS3 can pull off some spectacular series, I refuse to buy it. The Wii already has a few promising games lined up for it.

Ive just decided to do the same since TP is going to be on the gc. Its just too early to get a new console.

I don't prefer the PS3 or anything; I just don't think the Wii will outsell it, considering the Japanese market. The 360's world-wide success will always be hindered by its performance in Japan. Hopefully, Mistwalker can change that a bit.
Considering the price gap between Wii and ps3 id say there about even. If we were to talk about quantity Wii for sure. ps3 however? Its a gamble and its quite unclear as to how the ps3 will fair as opposed to speculations.

Quality? Ehh...that too is a close call. Wii is going better gameplay while ps3 is going eyecandy. Its a draw on both terms. ps3 may be all looks while Wii may get underated like GC.

The Wii only needs some graphic upgrades and keep this new gaming formula. All in all I think Wii will out perform most of the consoles ever made.

I think PS3 is going to win. Xbox 360 came out too soon.
even my current PC can play an Xbox 360 game. :P
pfff, you dont need a very good pc to play the equivalent of a 360 game..

my pc blows the 360 away

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/617/617951p1.html

Now read that article.
Don't just look at the fact that it's the 360 part of the site and don't just look at the diagrams.
Read the full article. It gives a very good comparison.
I also stumbled across this comment in a newspost on 1up about how the devs of Assassin's Creed have claimed that the difference in hardware will allow the Xbox 360 version of the game to have better ai than its ps3 counterpart.
http://www.1up.com/do/userFeedbackDetai ... 37&ct=NEWS
It makes a lot of sense to me.

I might buy a 360 as well, just so I can fully understand the system when I become a video game maker. However Aku, I'm not going to take those reviews seriously and so should everybody else. Those are just two Xbox favoring articles. I need to hear the specs from someone who either loves both systems or just doesn't care.

I hope that the Wii will come out on top, however, I'm suspecting a price change for X-box 360 just before the release of either the Wii or PS3. With the price change it would be possible for X-box to overtake Wii and PS3, but even then it's still not likely. So either PS3 or Wii, because the fanboys will stick with Nintendo or Sony.

Biased or not, that doesn't mean their arguments has to be false, right?

No it doesn't. Still those articles are one sided, so I'll hold my judement when I get both systems.

So you're writing them off as crap just because it's from the xbox section?
It's sounding like you didn't even read the article =S Because what they're saying there isn't biased crap.
They come with technical analysis of the stuff and explain things very in-depth.

I know, I actually read them believe it or not. I'm saying they are one sided because they didn't have Sony's say in it. It was all Microsoft in those articles, you did tell me indirectly to hear both sides of the story and I am. Plus I never said the articles are crap, you just think that because I told everyone to not to take those articles serious and jump the band wagon. I'm holding my judement until I actually test the systems myself, then I will decide which system is better and everyone else should as well.

True that.
But in terms of specs, only this kind of comparison could be made. As for the looks of the games and preformance of the games, it would be pretty damn hard to compare. The multi-platform games would be the only really great reference for comparison, but those games will most likely be tuned so that it looks the same and gets the same preformance on all consoles.

Though still, it's all up to the devs in the end...

Well yes, in specs it can you can tell which system is better without much trouble. But like the videogame phrase goes, "Without software, the hardware will fail." So even though I said I wouldn't take the articles seriously, I will however take them into account.

Yay^^ first time yet in an argument on this subject here that everyone doesn't go hostile when i'm involved^^

You, my friend, are a very sane person^^

I suppose you'd fit into the D group here:

Image

* A: Xbox 360 owners
* B: PS3 owners
* C: Nintendo Wii owners
* D: broke

^^ Kudos to joystiq xD
Anyways, i'm aiming for the D group myself.

Well, it's kinda hard to argue for something if everyone else on the site are lovers of the opposite side x.x
That's kinda why all the hostilities have turned up, even though i'm for all the consoles.

Umm.. Nintendo DS is dominating EVERYTHING in japan right now, hand helds and consoles.

With that said, I will now say that sony is screwed.

-Rediculous Price tag
- 2 exclusives that aren't even ground breaking (MGS4 looks good, but how will it play?)
And FF has gone down down down since X
-games will sell from 70-100$US (Which is a slap to canadian's.)
-Everytime they have a press conference everybody laughs at them.
(E3 and TGS)

I can honestly say it's going to be a close tie between The Wii and the Xbox360, I'll buy a wii and I have a 360.

Actually Kiru, the Playstation 3 did a great job at this year's TGS. The games I saw were amazing, already I want to get Lair and Resistance: Fall of Man. The price may be a little hard to swallow, but instead of bitching about it, I'm actually working to get the money to buy it and I already have a thousand dollars to spend as I please.

Will Sony dominate this era like the last two? That seems to be a very close call right now, the 360 is still keeping pace and the Wii is (as you can see in the poll) turning out to be threat to Sony's reign. But as of recently, I would really care less who wins the console wars. As long as I get kick @$$ games to play on my free time then I'm happy.
